I don’t date players. I don’t date a**holes. And Lucas Black, gorgeous billionaire and heir to the Black Media empire, is both.
So I am NOT dating him.
Not even if he hires me so he can order me around like a servant girl on a leash. Not even if he looks at me like he wants to rip my clothes off with his eyes. Not even if he pushes the line with me, farther and farther.
Not even if I’m starting to like it…
Stephanie Hart learned the hard Never depend on a man for anything. She’s the one in charge of her business, her family, AND her love life. Until Mr. Black shows up…
Lucas Black never met a pretty girl he didn’t want to f*ck. Problem is, Steph Hart isn’t a girl to be f*cked with. If she didn’t have such delicious curves, he might be able to forget her…
Will Lucas be able to tame Steph into submission before he loses her forever?
Well at least this part tells us a little more about Black (and what he does for a living... and shows us how he's still an arrogant jerk.
I think this is supposed to be funny.. it's more farce-like. And really, he's just stupid and clueless.
After sleeping with him in Paris, Steph takes off to go back home. And after more dancing around, she agrees to sleep with him one more time. I couldn't figure out what was going on with her but apparently she has mommy issues that prevent her from either seeing her worth or wanting to get involved. I don't get the attraction at all or what could possibly make this couple work.
There are references to him wanting her to be submissive... and as far as I can tell it's not in a D/s kind of role... but I'm finding this relationship to be such a whirlwind that I don't understand what's going on. We have a one dimensional Hero and an everyday woman with mommy issues who runs a bakery. This would be better if the story was filled out with her history/backstory... as well as his.
Oh my, Lucas, Lucas, Lucas. He shocked me in this one. I knew he was crafty but WOW, he surprised me with the lengths he went to get Stephanie into his world. Though Stephanie is definitely keeping him on his toes. I don't want to reveal any of the twists but I was truly surprised with the ending.
Lucas is a demanding dick and Steph hates his guts or dose she??????? Lucas and Steph have a love that white hot read at your own risk ladies. You may get burned by Mr. Black
Really enjoyed reading this book. I would read the His Ransom and His Gift series first as there are returning character's, but you do not have to to understand this book. Now I'm looking for Clint's book to round out the friends!! This isn't the typical alpha billionaire Dom book and I liked that. I liked that Steph was strong willed and didn't just give into Lucas' every command! I'm not sure what happened with Belle though. It was like this build for a conflict that never happened. Overall a great read!!
Lucas and Stephanie spend the night together in Paris and he purchases a dress for her to wear to the engagement party and then they spend the night together she likes it just as much as he does but she feels that he only wants to use her and throw her away but he doesn't realize that he feels more for her than he has for anyone ever but he keeps doing the wrong thing even when she finally comes to get him to sign an invoice he takes pictures of her making all kinds of faces until one of his friends comes in and makes her feel like she doesn't belong in his environment and she runs away again until the day of his mothers birthday party and everything goes wrong at the bakery and she has to make the cupcakes at Lucas's apartment but she gets it all done and and then the dog has a moment and then Lucas has an even crazier moment and makes Stephanie run out and he is not sure what he has done wrong and talks with his mother.
One day I will learn to read the reviews before I buy. Book one was okay, it lacked a lot in character development, but I got passed that. Book two just sucks. First of all there are blatant error that should embarrass the author. In book one his reason for having the party is his mother's retirement, but in book two, all of a sudden, it's mommy's birthday. What the freak, don't you even know what you wrote, don't you have someone proofreading for this stuff? And the story goes way down hill from there. I've already bought part three (thank God it was only a dollar) but I feel like I've been ripped off by someone who doesn't care about her story enough to get it right. I won't be buying anything else from this person. I won't give her the honor of being called an author.
So, Lucas Black and Steph did the deed and Steph thinks it will only be the one time in Paris?!?! I personally thought she was delusional about that! I don't want to give any spoilers, but let's just say that although this book moved a little faster than I would like, it's a great read and I couldn't put it down! I will leave you to hopefully download this book while I end this review to start the next! You will really enjoy this book!
Generally a decent read; satisfying enough. I like Lucas a lot more in this novella, and Steph has acquired more depth as a character too. I don't like Lucas's mother, or Belle for that matter, but Otis is a doll. The ending of this novella though...wow, not what I was expecting. Very brave of Lucas to take the plunge so early on, and my heart did break for him a little when Steph said no. I can't wait to see his reaction in the next instalment.

Poor Steph, if anything could go wrong it does. This book really keeps you interested to the very last page and wanting to pick up the next one immediately. So make sure you have a good hour to read before starting, and it flus by so quickly your at the end before you know it.
This is a awesome book could not put it down I love Lucas and Steph but what does Lucas have up his sleeve well he let Steph leave or well he fall for her only time well tell.
