Luna Ars masterfully weaves "Kneel Little Crow," merging elements of heaven and hell through Lucien, the Reaper, and his shadowy companions, Alister and Zayn. Although Lucien is the villain, his jealousy and possessiveness are tragically human, driving the plot's tension.

The story begins with Father Joseph, his son Frank, Magdalene (Maggie), and her mother Constance, who is the only one aware of the true reason for their dinner gathering centered around an arranged marriage. Lucien, who watches over Maggie, drugs and claims her but grants her one year of freedom. During this time, she is followed by Alister and Zayn, who are tasked with ensuring her safety without interacting with her.

With many twists and turns, the story keeps readers engaged, and it's clear that Luna Ars has more in store.

Amid the tension, there are moments of humor. One character remarks about a cheerful woman on the phone: “She’s too cheerful for someone who’s never been emotionally attacked by a college envelope.” (I know that feeling)

Maggie reflects on working at a café called Saint & Steam, noting how refusing mafia money leads to making lattes for customers who expect perfection. Despite the terrible pay, the tips are decent, and her manager hires her after she states she can work any shift. During the interview, her manager asks, “You running from something?” to which Maggie replies, “Poverty.”

I read this basically within 24 hours of starting it. I couldn't put it down. It sucked me in right away from the beginning. I was a little confused at some parts but I think as the series continues my questions will be answered. The FMC is a strong fierce woman that I loved.

This was not a typical book that I would pick up and I am so glad I did. With many twists and turns it was difficult to put down. The story follows Lucien, the reaper, and Maggie, a woman on earth. It is told between the present and the past, with several POVs. This is Book 1 in a series, so of course it ended with questions.

This book is so amazing. Had me hooked from the start. Love the reaper. Maggie oh my I could shake her I swear. As for zany sir fk you. This was an instant buy that’s how much I loved it. I brought the ebook not even 30 pages into the eARC.

This book is great!! If you are looking for something that has a solid plot, emotional attachments to characters and a good time while falling deep into the darkness then Blackthorn is a place for you!

I am so invested in the story, with two vastly different MMC's and a strong FMC that keeps them both on their toes. This story is well written, good pacing and such good humour I just could not stop giggling!
