Garik has survived one war, but Hel’s shadow has only just begun to fall across Alialis.
Bane carries the scars of battles that should have killed him, yet his greatest fight is no longer for a kingdom—it is for the woman trapped in the realm of the dead. As ancient powers gather, old allies become enemies, and impossible choices threaten to destroy everything he loves.
Far from home, Belle fights a different battle. Alone in Hel’s prison and carrying the future of Garik within her, hope is becoming as dangerous as despair.
Meanwhile, Daru is changing. Strange gifts awaken inside him, drawing the attention of creatures older than the gods themselves. Whatever he is becoming could save the North… or doom it.
And in the shadows, Agnes Gragg finally begins to reveal a truth buried for generations—a secret that will change Kip forever.
As armies rise, legends return, and the line between myth and man begins to disappear, the fate of the North will be decided by those born to become something more than human.
Going into this book I thought it would be the final book, a little more than halfway through I realized that was not going to be the case. Ow I have to wait until the end of February for the final(?) book.
