I've had a very varied life. I grew up in New York, on Long Island. I went to school to become an Engineer, then joined the Air Force. After that I worked first in Robotics, then in Aerospace as a Flight Test Engineer. I moved into the medical fields, then into more Technical markets working for a number of high tech companies where I became a Contractor. I used to own and raise big cats. I love motorcycles and old cars. I'm a pilot and former martial arts instructor. I'm a fan of the Reno Air Races. Then there's the stuff I'm not supposed to talk about, but that's another story. I've seen a lot of interesting stuff go by, met a lot of interesting, wonderful, strange, or sometimes just psychotic people. I've had the opportunity to work on some truly game changing technologies. And while I've had some very bad things happen to me in my life, I've never let it stop me. Keep smiling. -John
Medium Good Not quite as good as earlier in the series, but better than some of his other recent books. In this book Will mostly just travels around to visit all his baby mommas on all the different worlds. There are some fights a little bit of murdering gets done, and we are reminded that Will now has Mythic status. A nice mellow interim period between crises. Not everything has to be the end of the world. This stuff usually gets skipped and referred back to later if ever but I'm glad we got to see it.
I saw this posted by Blaise Corvin on Facebook and dropped what I was reading to pick it up and read it. Brilliant as always and really happy to see you finally got round to posting it. I liked the change of pace and how it transitioned wow sorry. Really looking forward to what he gets up to next, though now I've got to go back to book one and re-read the series as you kicked off my bed for more portals. Keep the series cooking it's one of the best series out there and had l thanks for all your work.
I have been reading this series since I found book 1. If John is planning to write more (please, please) I will be eager to read those, as well. This is a solid adventure/romance/supernatural story with excellent characters. You can read it without reading any of the other books in the series, but I recommend starting at the beginning the first book is called Portals of Infinity: Champion for Hire. Well worth your time and money.
Will Taylor is back with a blast. It's not so much a major quest, but rather he has people he wants to check up on, and more than a few children he wants to meet. Fun stuff. Excellent editing. Great series by an engaging writer, both as John Van Stry or as Jan Stryvant. If you haven't read the Portals of Infinity series, you've been missing out on some serious adventures!
Good tales of Daring Do!! Yes, this is another outstanding story with good characters and interesting plot lines. Highly Recommend 10/10!! A good story with morals and integrity, clear good guys vs bad guys. Not Shakespeare and doesn't claim it, but a delightful tale woven with skill and talent.
While this series may not have the same plot depth it used to. It's always a safe and fun read to come back to. My only gripe is the length of time between books as it takes me a bit to remember what happened last lol. If only it had a summary at the beginning or the books were released more often
I have been waiting for this book for some time. So much so that I chose to re-read the first 11 first. I have always enjoyed all of John's work but this has always been my favorite maybe because it was first. I am looking forward for the next book in this series as well as any other books he writes. Thank you John for all the good reads.
Its great to see this series continue again, and while it didn't have the infinite-spanning existential crisis of previous books, it was a great way to tie up some long hanging loose ends.
Love this series and the author gives another great story. More laid back than some of the others I remember but still a great addition to the series and left me wanting more again.
Part of me wonders if changing the next books to be short stories or short events might help. With Will's huge (and growing) family, it is being harder to remember who is who. Overall, this continues to be a fun mix of scifi , fantasy and politics.
I can't say enough good things about these books. I've read them all more than once. Amazing world building. Logical progression. Great stuff. Please read.
Hell yea glade I got a new book in the series, this is definitely one of my favorite series. I look forward to reading more from the series and author 😀
