This book was written by ai. Please do not support this. I commented on a post by scarybookrecs on Instagram that suggested this book saying it was ai. They blocked me. Dont support creators pushing ai either.

.5 stars. Bear with me while I write the review like the book was written.
The book was the worst thing I’ve ever read. It said a lot without saying anything at all, because it had nothing to say and no plot to exist. It was written in circles because sometimes circles highlight a point, if a point was to be made. Why give away the twist in the opening chapter when the middle or end is what sells it? Why??? I really don’t know even after reading. Can anyone tell me?

This was probably the worst book I've ever read. I hate to DNF so I powered through. My advice...don't waste your time. Content errors through the roof. If this is a real author, they needn't quit their day job. It was that bad.

Saw this book hyped up on TikTok and decided to read it. Honestly so repetitive I kept turning back to check I wasn’t going mad having read nearly the exact same things twice.

It was an interesting plot (as in wtf). It repeated alot of things to much. Im not sure why her being with her brother was an important thing to the plot. This reminded me of the truman show.

This was a rough one to get through - but I have an unspoken pact with myself to avoid DNFing at all costs. The writing style was very redundant and repetitive. The sentences are constructed in a pattern that reminds me of an internal thought process. Short, sporadic, and sometimes irrelevant or off-topic bursts of nothingness. I originally had this book rated as 3 stars just because I did like the storyline. In the hands of the right author, this book would have been show stopping.
Mara’s journey starts out very confusing and doesn’t really start to piece together until about 70% completion of the book. The “plot twist” of Mara believing that she was married to her brother only became more repulsive whenever she discovered she was actually married to her son. Who only married her to protect her? Weird. Then comes the initial, even more repulsive question… If she is married to her son, wouldn’t her newborn daughter be undeniably a child born of incest? Yet this was a healthy, full term child that was stolen in the dead of night and pronounced dead by a coroner that was ultimately working with the machine? And so was the cop.. And so was the pharmacist.. AND so were the neighbors.. Yet, not one single person in this town ever raised any sort of red flag? Even more weird.
I think this plot had so much potential. The underground system of breeding “perfect” children, the mystery of discovering if you really are a monster or you’ve just always been told you were. So, so much potential.
Also, after reading I started seeing reviews that this book was written with AI. This at least explains the choppy sentence structure and repetitive ideas.
Whew, this was hard to write. I don’t really enjoy nagging at writers because I feel like there is a place for every style of writing and content. This was just rough.

I read this book because it was hyped as a psychological thriller that you couldn't put down. There were so many totally unbelievable, impossible plot points that made it difficult to read. The only likable character was Okafor. Save your time and read something better written.

Rowan was her son. He knew she was his mother and yet he still married her, remained married for 6 years as husband and wife, had relationship with her, got her pregnant. How incredibly morally bankrupt does someone have to be to go through such a deep and twisted plot?

slightly repetitious
I enjoyed the premise of this book but unfortunately the style of writing became repetitive. I was able to jump entire paragraphs and sections as the author repeatedly stated things over and over again in what seemed to be an attempt at whimsy or adding to the depth of the moment but ultimately became frustrating to the pace of the plot line.
The main plot line also seemed weak (without giving spoilers) as to why the protagonist did what she did. This could have been much better

Hard to read
I ended up giving this 3 stars. I really wanted to like it more, but the writing style just didn't work for me. The wording felt awkward, and the verbiage made it harder to follow than it needed to be. I found myself rereading parts because I wasn't sure what the author was trying to say. The story itself had some good ideas, but I never felt fully pulled in because I was constantly trying to make sense of the writing. It wasn't a bad book—just not an easy or enjoyable read for me.

I … I don’t know how I feel about this book. I saw it recommended on TikTok with a bunch of other thrillers.
For one - the writing style was really hard to follow. Another commenter stated Ai, which could be likely.
Two - there was SO much potential with the story and it all just kind of fell flat? Like any plot twist was not as exciting as it could have been.
Overall, it was an okay read but I really struggled to not DNF it. Solid 2 stars

This book was awesome. I cannot stress enough how twisty and turney it was. I started out thinking one thing about the book, and by the time I was in a couple of chapters, I was shocked to find things taking a turn, in the most psychotic way. The characters are written well, our fmc is a brave woman who is finding that her life is carefully crafted around her, and everyone seems to know except herself. As we go on, bigger lies come out, and the ending was superb. Excellent thriller!

The mystery definitely hooked me in, I kept reading to find out what, how and why. But the repetition to fill the pages, had me skimming a lot at the end. Definitely gives the vibe of written by Ai. Only gave it three stars because the storyline was actually really interesting, I haven’t read anything like this before. Many twists and turns but not the best thing Ive read by any means.

Surprisingly emotional
I was not expecting this book to make me cry. At first I thought it was a well-written but slightly predictable thriller. But as it went on, I got really attached to the writing style and the main character. I found myself really cheering her on. Not as disturbing as some people said online, but definitely touches on a lot of heavy topics.

expect the unexpected!!!
At first, I could not handle this book (being freshly postpartum). But I’m so glad I kept going, talk about a bittersweet ending! I will say that at times it felt like chat gpt wrote the book, that was kind of annoying, but the storyline is so creative and empowering and will keep you on the edge of your seat!

I honestly have no idea what was going on or why the whole book… it was an interesting read as I kept reading to find out why everything was happening, which turned out to be disappointing and didn’t make sense with the rest of the book. There were plot holes and a lot of repetition, but the characters and their backgrounds were well written. It had a great opportunity to be so good. 😭

None of it made any logical sense, the writing style was repetitive and so lackluster that I DNF at pg 108. I really try to push through and avoid a DNF but I don’t think I am missing out on much with this book. Other reviews suggest AI and I am not surprised at all.

I struggled through the entire book. Made it to 85% then just couldn’t even finish. The story was disjointed and went nowhere. The overly redundant writing style wasted pages and my time.

got the recommendation off of tictok and it’s terrible. it doesn’t make sense the house is wired but yet she roams around and finds a woman in the basement? they know her every move yet she goes to a motel? what? i’ll have to use ai to see the plot was because im not wasting my time

Had high hopes for this read after a reading slump. The beginning had me hooked. But as the book progressed it became slow and i felt the flow of the book changed... I had a hard time finishing.

Frustrating
Was interesting story line but the repeating of information was so irritating. Book could have been half the size. Very disappointing, could have been so much better.
