Took me a long time to finish this book with other more exciting books to read! Got this book as a gift during a recent road trip to Munising. Very short stories about unsolved murder cases from the Great Lakes regions. The beginning stories were very good. I had not heard of most of these cases, but I'm a new resident to Northern Wisconsin. Most were rather just reprints of information from perhaps local papers? No new information. Some cases VERY cold. Requests for new leads and information. A few cases in particular were annoying. One being that of Jimmy Hoffa. I don't know how many books have been written about his disappearance, but it does a disservice to include him in this book about "everyday" people who garner little attention in their deaths, to devoting so many pages to him.

Cold cases were interesting to read, but there were many distracting errors indicative of self-publishing. I wish I could have proofread or typeset this manuscript!

Very interesting cases dating back decades. Plenty of typos however.

What is clear here is that police and investigators need evidence before they can prosecute. In some of these cases they have suspects, but... In other cases the evidence simply does not exist. These cold cases are not like fictional stories that get nicely wrapped up. Interesting reading and it does tell you that the insane violence of our society is not new. It is just more obvious now days.

Book was tastefully written given some of the more gruesome and heinous acts committed. There is also a great attention to details leading up to each account, as well as information about the investigations done. It is truly mindblowing the number of cases in the Great Lakes area of the country!

I enjoyed this book. Quick little true crime book. Some fun cases, both of ones I’ve heard and have not heard before.
