Planning my own wedding should mean I’m having the time of my life…not defending it every time I turn around. Dragons, feral Wolves and Were Cows…I mean who in the hell knew Were Cows even existed?
All I wanna do is marry Hank, have 2.5 beautiful little Werewolf babies and live happily ever after while having sex on a very regular basis. Oh…and I still want to shoot stuff occasionally. Apparently no one got the memo.
Instead of complaining about the price of flowers, cakes and the fact that my gay Vampyre BFF, Dwayne insists on wearing a dress at my nuptials, I’m locked and loaded trying to ascertain who wants my ass six feet under. With Hank at my side and some surprising allies at our disposal, we will take on the bad dudes…one bloody clusterhump of a sucktastic battle at a time.
No one ever said the Werewolf life was going to be easy, but this week we couldn’t catch a break if it bit us in the ass...

I imagine that Robyn Peterman was sitting around drinking wine with her best friend when the idea of this book was born, because only bff's cracking each other up could come up with this stuff:
Robyn: I need to create a new shifter that nobody would want to shift into for my next book. Something unexpected.
bff: How about cows? Nobody wants to be a cow. They just stand around all day in a pasture, plus the whole turning into burgers thing. I won't even mention being milked. Eww!
Robyn: Yeah, yeah, but they have to be sexually ambiguous were-cows so that the main characters are constantly trying to figure out if they are a boy or girl.
bff: haha, I love it! You can name them: Pat, Terry, Morgan, Jamie.. names like that!
Robyn: Yes!! And, they should ride Harleys!
bff: Yeah, they are like country bumpkins, living on a farm and selling their own milk!
Robyn: gross! And, Dwayne, the gay drag-queen vampire should adopt them as his own children!
bff: That would be hilarious! I love Dwayne!
Robyn: Everyone loves Dwayne. Hmmm, we need another bottle of wine here and I'll get typing!
That has to be what happened. And, it is both epic and hilarious in its weirdness.
"My name is Vampyre Dwayne. I am your new father. I will be adoping you and raising you as my own since I'm dead and can't actually reproduce. Not to mention I'm gay...I shall endeavor to be a good yet profane and somewhat violent example for you...I will take you shopping for clothes that minimize your girth and you will learn why bath products are your friends."
The cows were mute and stared at him...
"Daddy?" Harley whimpered as it stepped forward and fell to its knees at Dwayne's feet.
The other cows followed suit until there was a sobbing, keening cluster-hump at Dwayne's feet...
Some Were in Time by Robyn Peterman Shift Happens series #2. Paranormal romance. Best read as part of the series. First person. Essie just wants to plan her wedding to Hank but it seems someone disagrees. Weres, vampire, dragons, feral wolves and Were Cows mixed together make Essie a little testy.
Hilarious and engaging adventure that will have you laughing out loud. Bawdy humor and crazy shifters. I’ll never hear “Jesus H.” again without thinking of this story.
am loving this series! Seriously. It’s funny as heck. The characters and situations they find themselves make listening addictive. Peterman mixes an interesting case with outstanding and unique paranormal characters whose personalities are both unique and adorkable.
Dragons, Were Cows and feral wolves bring danger and questions as Essie and Hank along with their friends must decide if it involves the WTF. Before it is all said and done friendships will form, decisions with lasting consequences will be made and tears will be shed.
Sure some of it is over the top, and I laughed like a twelve-year-old boy whose teacher said fart, but I also held my breath, cheered and wiped away a tear or two. The author does a stellar job with the case involving the dragons and feral wolves. I loved the friendships that formed and seeing how the weres and other paranormal creatures worked together.
Robyn Peterman has went off the edge with this one. Funny doesn't even begin to describe Some Were In Time. I've laughed my way all the way through this book. Don't even get me started about the Were Cows. Yep I just wrote Were Cows. Oh and Birdie the were pigeon. I swear these are not typos. Only Peterman could think these crazy lovable characters up. But that's all I am giving away about this one. You will have to read it to believe it. And I totally recommend you to read this series!!!
I laughed out loud several times while reading this. It's a light read, which is perfectly fine. That's what the book is about: lighthearted entertainment. Love the characters. I was actually surprised that I found it so funny because it's not often that I agree with reviewers who say a book made them laugh. This one did. I will definitely keep reading her books.
Essie and Hank's adventures continue in this light and fluffy brain candy book.
I don't think I can review it properly, so I'll just say that it includes the shenanigans we expected from faboulous gay best friend vampire Dwayne and kooky Granny, and a lot more than we did not expect, like were-cows and were-pidgeons that are far from the tame creatures one might imagine.
Fast paced and full of action, this book includes answers to the mystery of Essie's parents deaths, , big changes for everyone, , and foreshadowing of the next book, No Were To Run, starring Dima the dragon shifter princess on a mission to kill her awful father.
Light and fun!

Ever since I discovered Robyn Peterman, her books have become a "drop everything, sit down and read through to the end" part of my life. Some Were in Time was another example of why- in book 2 of the Shift Happens series, Essie, Hank, Dwayne & Grannybare on a secret mission for the WTF. Through the course of the story, there is so much laugh out loud humor (I will be saying Jesus Jesus for the rest of my life), which I've come to expect, and what made me fall in love with her books. And the plot is full of mystery and action. As the crew picks up new friends and family, my love for these characters continues to grow. I so look forward to learning more about the new characters and species, and seeing how the characters will grow from here.
I have become a huge Robyn Peterman fan. Her paranormal rom coms are the best. Some Were in Time continues the story of Essie and Hank. They are an established couple now and as hot as ever. Granny, Dwayne and Junior all play a role in the book and are just as funny as ever. Several new characters are introduced as well. The were cows are phenomenal! I highly recommend this series.
Another hysterical read by Robyn Peterman! 5 LOL Stars. Robyn's sense of humor and mind are scary crazy...killer were pigeons and booty bombing were cows.
In the second book in the Shift Happens Series, we follow Essie, Hank and the rest of the gang as they head to Chicago to discover who in the WTF (Werewolf Treaty Federation) is working with the Dragons against their own species. While fighting for their lives, the gang make some unusual acquantances and friends.
I highly recommend Robyn's paranormal romances for anyone interested in a quirky, fun read filled with laughs. Her books are guaranteed to lift your spirits.
Werewolves, Dragons, Pigeons, oh my!!! What an awesome read. Funny, snarky, sexy, suspenseful. I just love this series. Robyn make it seem like they are actually real. How awesome would that be. The Wonderful Wacky World in Robyn's head will leave you scratching yours and wanting more. Pick this one up today, you will not be sorry!!! Vanpyre's, Weasel's and Cow's, Oh My!!!!! My new favorite word is now Douchcanoe...LOL...
Essie, Hank and the whole gang are back! Robyn Peterman has done it again. She's brought us another non-sucktastic book that will leave you in tears. Who knew the H stood for Hesus?! Can't wait to see what else her brilliantly warped mind can come up with next!
Loved it! So funny and a good, fast paced story! I loved the new character Dima, she was pretty cool and I hope there will be another book in the series!
The puns for bodily functions fly fast and furious in this one! ( Not to mention with deadly accuracy, and consequences! ) New friends are met and hidden foes revealed for our Hung Island afinanced couple. Get a spectacular, if brief, glimpse at just how wealthy their friend Dwyane the gay vampire is. And Granny's very existence is put in dire jeopardy if Dwyane's attempt to save her falis. Facing were-cows who were thought to be extinct, teacherous were-councel members, dagons, and rouge weres who can no longer shift to human form seems to be all in a days work for this couple. I think even the Expndables might have a hard time keeping up wwith this group ofmixed heros. I loved the laughs and the even the gross-outs!
Were-cows, vampires, dragons, and werewolves all together in one place, what could possibly go wrong? It’s the second in this fun and snarky series. I would read the books in order.
This book picks up where the last one ended. It’s another adventure for the WTF agents and hopefully some answers.
I love the interaction among the characters. I did like the first book a bit more but I still can’t wait to start book 3.
Some Were In Time was just as good as the first book in the Shift Happens series. There was plenty of action/adventure as the overall series arc moved forward, and seeing Essie having to navigate her family and friends about wedding plans was so funny. Her best friend Dwayne and Hank's brother Junior have larger rolls in this book. I loved getting to know them better. Family elements and surprise reveals near the end spun the series in a completely different way than I was expected, but I'm totally there for it!
Some Were In Time: Shift Happens Book 2 Robyn Peterman WTF agents, wedding dresses, and were cows
Were cows are more dangerous than were dragons. Who knew? I just love the quirky humor and the potty mouth words that make you wonder if they really count as bad words. “I’d bet my left boob, it’s the bigger one, that they know what happened.” "It's gonna be a cluster womper of a bunghole….” I have previously read book one in this series, Ready to Were, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Robyn has again hit it out of the park. This latest episode does not disappoint with action and quirkiness grabbing you from the first page. I laughed so hard in places that I had to blink the tears out of my eyes in order to keep reading. Of course, there are also great lessons to learn within the pages. Such as, it is always polite to wear panties while trying on wedding dresses. Now, that is a great piece of wisdom. The storyline was unique. I did not have to stop due to editing or formatting issues. The descriptions were great. I picked this book up and did not sit it down until I had finished the entire story.
At first glance, this book is fun, light, easy to read. The plot is swift, the action is exciting. However, the character of Dwayne is portrayed with every stereotype of gay males ever dreamt by straight people. He’s more than a parody, and it’s bad. Many moments trip into transphobia/trans stereotyping, and it overwhelms what could have been a cool character. Also, there’s a mention of a lesbian cow shifter commune (suspend your imagination, here) and the lead says that it turns her stomach.
Absolutely ridiculous. Suspend all belief and logic and just enjoy the author’s wild imagination. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud.
Essie and her mate Hank are on a rather secret mission for Essie’s boss at the WTF to find the connection between the werewolf council and the dragons. They’d already uncovered and broken up the dragon’s cross-breeding experiments in the prior book. Along for the mission are Essie’s BFF, Dwayne, the Gay Vampire and Essie’s grandmother, a former WTF agent.
I can’t say a whole lot because the characters, their characteristics and situations are just too unbelievable and it’s fun to be jolted by them in the book. There’s a huge issue that is brought up that doesn’t make sense at the time, but the result is both ewwwwww-inspriring as well as hilarious.
I do hope there are at least two more books, one of each for two other characters.
This is one of the funniest books that I have ever read. I enjoyed book one, but this is even better. A the great characters from the first book are still there and we get more information about some of the other characters as well. There are such a lot of quirky personality traits going on in this cast list. That combined with granny being inappropriate and Dwayne and his campness make for a lot of laughs. The one liners keep going as well. The introduction of the werecows is genius.
Whilst there is a good plot, twists, and plenty of action in this book, I feel that the humour is what makes it a must read. I laughed my little cotton socks off while I read this, and had to stop once or twice to regain normal breathing. Highly recommended and highly entertaining.
Robyn Petermann has easily became one of my favorite authors. Even though this book wasn't as good as the first, it still was pretty damn awesome. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud. Dwayne in the wedding dresses almost killed me. Speaking of Dwayne, him and Granny are priceless together. You can't guess what shenanigans they will get into next. This book is crazy fun, don't even get me started on were cows. That being said I was surprised by the ending which is shocking because i'm never surprised. Can't wait for the next book, hopefully we get to see Hank and Essie tie the knot.
When I need to laugh, I binge read all of them. I believe I own most of her series' by now, and each are the kind you'll want to read over and over again. I adore her snark and quick wit. I laugh out loud, and my husband looks at me like I've lost my mind. This is a testament to Robyn's ability to hook a reader from word one, capturing your heart with her well-defined characters and world building. I highly recommend reading all of her books as they're worth every penny. Five plus stars! Wait 'til you get a load of Granny and Dwayne--read book one first. Laughed 'til my sides hurt. I just love these characters, and I can't wait to buy book three! Very well done!
Some Were In Time by Robyn Peterman is the second book in her Shift Happens series and it did not disappoint.
It was filled with Robyn's trademark snarky humor and inventive imagination - "werecows" anyone?. Essie is trying to plan her wedding to Hank but apparently some one wants her dead. Essie and Hank work together along with some new allies to find out who is behind the plot and get the wedding planning back on track.
Over the top paranormal mystery filled with lots of laughs and romance make this another winner. If you loved the first book in this series, you will really LOVE this one.
Want a fun, laugh your pants off, and seriously sexy romance? Then make sure to pick up Book two of Robyn Peterman's Shift Happens series! This book was so much fun. Full of charm, witty dialogue, our favorite characters plus some freaking awesome new Weres. I loved how engrossing this story was. It was addicting and freaking AMAZING. Peterman creates one of a kind stories that will leave your sides in stitches from laughing so hard, and sighing and squirming as Hank and Essie try not to romp on each other (yea like that doesn't happen often *giggles*). This is creative and imaginative writing at its best. I freaking LOVE Robyn Peterman.
4.5* This latest offering from Ms Peterman is an outrageously over –the- top laugh-aloud riot! I do not remember when I laughed so often or so hard while reading a book. The characters have been extended to include, I kid you not, digestively-challenged androgynous Were-Cows and kamikaze Were-Pigeons; the madcap and mayhem adventures were totally irresistible and visualizing possible musical tribute to “Twilight” which would involve poles and nipple- less sequinsed bras left me in tears. This series is pure fun and I so look forward to more from Essie, Hank and their cavalcade of lovable lunatics.
I am reading "Some were in Time, Shift Happens Book 2" and trying hard not to die laughing!....Im laughing so hard I am crying and I need to pee but cant put it down....NO FAIR!.........I should have known better then to drink something while reading your books.........Seriously, Thank You so much for the sexy humor with a twist that will make you forget life for a while!Everywhere I look there are unexpected left and right turns, Dwayne and Granny are too much, we find out more about Junior and all characters! Many questions raised by Book 1 are answered, we get intro'ed to Dima, and find out about Were Cows...........if this doesn't get you interested, not sure what will!
"Some Were in Time: Shift Happens Book Two" by Robyn Peterman is the fun filled sequel to "Ready to Were: Shift Happens Book One". Essie and Hank, a mated werewolf couple, have a big to do list to complete. Between planning their wedding, dealing with werecow and vamp drama, and surviving multiple attempts on their lives, they have their hands full. Overall, I loved this novel. Robyn Peterman never fails to provide her readers with novels that are full of fast paced plot lines, humor, and sex. Her characters may be inappropriate at times, but that's what I love about them. I can't wait for her next novel, and hope that she eventually writes some cross overs between her series.
This series is totally outrageous but lots of fun. Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier we get werecows, feral werewolves, mind melds, vampire adoptions, etc.
Essie's life is getting crazier. She and Hank are ready to start their special assignment with the help of gay vampire Dwayne and werewolf granny Bobby Sue. But someone seems to have it out for Essie and they are barely surviving the fights against the dragons. Plus Dwayne has some amends to make to the werecows once they find them.
