Felicity Forrest is a very confident plus size woman. She has true beauty that she does not even realize that she has. After dating a jerk of a guy who tried to tear her self-esteem down and stomped on her heart, it is no wonder she does not know she is beautiful. But Naill O’Leary and the stallion within sees this beauty. They know one thing. They need to make her their mate.
Naill O’Leary is a handsome alpha Puca. He is also the some of the Cheiftan’s son. It is his duty to find a mate so that their clan can survive. Naill was sent over the veil to find a mate and to find why they have been awaken. Naill thought he would never desire a mate until he saw Felicity. Now not only did his stallion want her but he wanted her as well. His greatest fear was to tell Felicity his deep dark secret. Would she be able to accept what he truly was? Would Naill be able to keep Felicity from writing about the Puca?
I so love this novella. It has been a great series so far. A.C. James has such a creative mind and has done such an amazing job on this series so far. Though I do feel for Tomas..LOL If you love shifter books you will love this one. I assure you A.C James will not disappoint

If you haven't read the first book in this series, STOP, go back and read it. This is a continuing story with cliffhangers.
When we left Felicity, she was walking back to the Pier House from where she ended up after riding Niall's stallion. As this book opens, she is waking from what she assumes is a crazy dream with a heck of a hangover, although she could swear, she only had one drink.
Niall is already drinking this morning when Tomas asks him about his time with Felicity. He totally denies his feelings when telling him about having a few drinks and walking her to the Pier House. Leaving out the important stuff we already learned. He also has to be sure Felicity doesn't write about the púca.
Cyn on the other hand is puzzled that Tomas wouldn't come upstairs with her. This leads to Felicity thinking about the last conversation with her ex, William. Her not being ready in light of how she feels around Niall, has her making a bet with Cyn. A bet that she would have Niall in her bed before Cyn got Tomas in hers.
Felicity and Cyn visit where the photo was taken with Jenna then join the priest at the construction site. They are introduced to his brother Michael and also the owner of the site Mr. Archer. Felicity asks the right questions and Niall and Tomas were eavesdropping not far away. The priest and Jenna go on their way and Niall and Tomas approach them. Tomas taking Cyn in one direction and Niall taking Felicity in the other.
Their conversation on the walk was a getting to know you and a bit about family and ends with a kiss in front of Niall's cottage.
This time Felicity doesn't push him away and things get very sensuous and sizzling. She even agrees to a real dinner date later that evening. When she sees Cyn, she's sure she has won the bet, but Cyn is even more determined to have Tomas as her birthday present regardless of her loss.
I love the way this relationship is growing. While it seems fast it really isn't. Not for either of them. For Felicity she has to trust and that's the hard part for her.
I love where this one leaves off and I am reading the next already. things are getting really good!

I too was given the book RIDE: THE BET by A. C. James for giving an honest review.
Ms. James writes a very intriguing story about Felicity, a Supernatural Investigative Reporter and the hot and VERY sexy Niall, a Puca shape shifter. A Puca is a stallion. It is a very HOT love story building between the two main characters; Felicity and Niall. The story so far has been very exciting and hard to put down.
The whole story begins with Felicity and her best friend Cyn leaving London to go to the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland to find out if the Puca are responsible for the problems a construction site on the island has been having. They arrive at the island and meet Niall and his friend Tomas at the local tavern. Niall offers to walk Felicity back to the place she and Cyn are staying at after Cyn chases after Tomas. Niall reveals his stallion to Felicity and has her ride on his back to a field where he transforms back to a man. After he tries to get her to mate with him she walks away.
In the second part, THE BET", Felicity wakes up from a dream she had been having thinking everything in the dream was only a dream. Little does she know that everything she thought was a dream was really reality. The story continues on from there with Felicity and Cyn making a BET as to which one of them will end up in bed with their chosen men. Little does Cyn know that she will never get to Tomas because Tomas already has a mate back at home with whom he is in love with.
At the same time Niall is ready to come clean with Felicity because he has to convince Felicity not to do her article. If she does it could cause innumerable problems for the Pucas. They decide to go on a date to the tavern where they first met. While there a worker from the construction site comes into the tavern and tells everyone he was attacked by a Puca. Niall nor Felicity doesn't believe him and decide to investigat.

Ride is a BBW Paranormal series by A.C. James. This author does the series a little different than what I am used to. There are 12 of what they call episodes (novellas) and each set of 4 episodes is a season (separate story) that combines into the 1 series. I would suggest getting them in either one large bundle of 12 or by seasons because each episode ends in a cliffhanger. Now, with that info.out of the way here are my thoughts on the first season. The series is about Puca (horse) shapeshifters, something I have never heard of but was really pretty interesting. The author did a great job at giving the reader a whole new world to read about and I really liked this new world of shifters. There is action, suspense, twists and of course love, all the things a good book needs. All of the characters are written well and I am curious to see where she goes with this series.

Ride: The Bet by A.C James is book two in the Puca Mates Series. After reading the first book and that cliffhanger of an ending I was eager to start this one. I read this one just as quickly and was still fully invested in the storyline. I’m really enjoying the pace in which the relationship between the characters is going. I’m still liking the way the characters are described as I can still find them relatable. The world is still complex and intriguing… a page turner with mystery, romance and a dash of humor. It’s well written and a progressing plot that’s moving pretty steady. I’m enjoying the storyline and find myself getting more invested. The book descriptions are still on point and probably my favorite element. I can’t wait to read the next book. If you’re a fan of paranormal/fantasy with shifters than this is a book/series for you.

This is the second book in the Ride series between Niall and Felicity. It picks up where book one ended. They start spending more time together and Niall realizes Felicity is his mate. Now he just needs to convince her and find a way to still keep the Pucas secret. This novella ends in another cliffhanger.

Felicity wakes up thinking about Niall. She believes that she dreamed about him changing into a stallion. Niall sits in the pub remembering how Felicity rode on his back while he was in his stallion form. He comes up with a plan to seduce Felicity. In episode one, Felicity has broken up with her boyfriend William who constantly put her down. She is still trying to get over him. Felicity makes a bet with Cyn that she will have a one night stand with Niall before Cyn can have a one night stand with Tomas. Felicity goes off with Father Clancy to investigate the construction site.
Meanwhile, Niall investigates the construction site looking for suspects who might have opened the veil. Father Clancy's brother Michael argues with the man working on the construction site that they are building on sacred puca land and it will disturb them and they will be cursed. Niall thinks the priest and his brother might be responsible for the portal's disturbance.
Felicity meets Mr. Archer at the site and questions him about what is going on. He jumps when Felicity touches his arm. Archer tells Felicity that many people want the resort and many people welcomed them. Niall becomes jealous and is determined to win over Felicity. They go for a walk and talk about each other. Eventually they end up back at Niall's cottage and make love. Niall is afraid to mate with a human because the woman has a high risk of dying during childbirth. When Felicity tell Niall that she has fibroids and is highly unlikely to conceive, Niall is relieved. He can bring back a mate and she won't be in a dangerous position. Niall hasn't revealed that his is a puca. Felicity suggests they have a date and he agrees. Meanwhile, Cyn can't make headway with Tomas and is extremely frustrated. Tomas tell Niall he must tell Felicity he is a puca. After their date, Niall sends images of his stallion form to Felicity. He asks Felicity not to write about the pucas because it will expose his people to humans who would not accept them. In order to believe Niall's stallion exists, she asks him to transform to prove it to her.

I received a free audible copy of books 1-4 of this romance serial in exchange for my honest review.
This is my first A.C. James book and I very much enjoyed it. It was also the first book I've ever read that involved pucas (or a horse shifter of any sort). I really enjoyed all of the particularities surrounding pucas and puca mating. I particularly enjoyed that the mate must be able to ride the stallion to be eligible as a mate (a.k.a. able to bear puca offspring). That added caveat of determining a true mate was also very interesting. Felicity is a strong, independent woman who, while self-conscious and with somewhat low self-esteem, she is comfortable in her own skin (she just doesn't think it possible for any man to find her truly attractive being a BBW). Cyn is her best friend, a plus size model, and her companion on her assignment to investigate the puca hauntings in the Aran Islands for her blog, Everyday Supernatural. Cyn is just along for the ride for a birthday get-away. Niall is a puca male who has never wanted a mate and only agrees to take one to keep his twin sister, Mariosa, out of a promised mating to another puca male who is, quite frankly, a complete jerk. He is sent across the veil to investigate why it is open before Sowen (and to find a human mate) along with his friend Thomas. The instant Felicity and Niall spot each other, they are enchanted, particularly Niall's stallion. This book covers Felicity and Niall's adventure as she shelves her blog assignment to help him investigate why the veil has been opened when it shouldn't have been (along with their budding romance). This book is intriguing with a story line that will pull you in. While this book is a culmination of the various parts of the Ride series, it also puts me in a good position to highly recommend these parts be read all together. Each individual part will leave you with only part of the story and a huge cliffhanger. While this culmination of parts has a HEA ending for Felicity and Niall, there is still a cliffhanger and I am incredibly interested to know what happens next!

The story starts where book one stop. Felicity and her bestie Cynthia are still on a work celebrate birthday week. Felicity hasn't really let go of her last relationship but she has no intention of going back. Now Felicity is determined to have a fling and Niall fits the bill while Cynthia is more than determined to get Tomas in bed not knowing that he is happily mated. So Felicity and Cynthia decide to make a bet between the two of them who will do the dance in bed first. Unfortunately Cynthia might lose or will she?
Niall feels he has found his mate and he wants to spend as much time as he can so he has Tomas his second and he is happily mated so he is a perfect gentleman to Cynthia so that Niall can spend more time with Felicity. All the while he and Tomas are trying to track down what has caused the veil to thin and to find a mate for Niall’s father.
Felicity is still working on the chase of Pucca sightings and they just may have some candidates. Niall has a chance to get to know Felicity better and her him Felicity feels she can share some of her secrets with him. Niall feels more and more that she is his mate.
Niall is unsure if Felicity should know she's his mate just yet but he is impatient to claim her. Niall's father is aware that Felicity is trying to prove that the Pucca do exists. But it is something Fallon Niall’s father doesn’t want to happen.
A.C. James has a interesting imagination and she's a great writer. Her heroine is a BBW and confident with her body and curves. She loves writing so I'm guessing that Ms James put a little of herself into her characters. The storyline is fascinating, incredible, engaging and very unusual to say the least.

We pickup where we left off only Felicity believes that she was only dreaming because she had to much to drink even though she knows that she only had one beer while at the Diner her mind just didn't want to except that the man who walked her back to the place she was staying had turned into a horse and road her across town to the park and turned back into a man again butt naked in front of her kissing and wanting to have her and she refused leaving him to walk back by herself but she does remember he did walk her back to her hotel now she has made a bet with Cyn that she can get Niall to make love to her before Cyn can with Tomas (Niiall's best friend who just so happen's to be happily married). Cyn thinks he must be gay since he has not jumped on her fine-eager-self, so Felicity takes the plunge and is swept right off her feet she feels like they are mated from a different time she doesn't understand why but Niall has dinner with her and one of the workers at the Resort comes in the Diner saying that he was attacked and threatened by a Puca and was told to leave the sacred grounds Felicity jumps up with questions but she doesn't believe the worker neither does Niall because he knows that Puca's don't attack or threaten people and he and Tomas are the only two on this side of the Veil but he is determined that Felicity needs to know the truth from him about his people so she will protect his People before they become Extinct. This a very interesting short story. Adult Readers only. Cliff hanger.

Felicity Forrest, paranormal investigator and blogger, had just gotten over a breakup. Her best friend Cyn asked her to celebrate her 25th birthday with her to get her mind off things. Instead, Felicity’s boss called her with a new reporting assignment to investigate a Puca (horse shapeshifter) haunting incident in Ireland so the two of them made it into a holiday.
By the end of Book 1, Felicity knows Niall O’Leary is a Puca. Affected by her own insecurities, instead of believing he wants her for the woman she is, she assumes he just wants any human mate to breed with and continue the Puca lineage. She storms off in a huff, leaving him standing naked in a field. Niall removes all memory of their parting.
Waking up in Book 2, Felicity feels like she has a hangover. She has no memory of her argument with Niall or the secret he revealed to her, other than a strange dream. She is still attracted to Niall and he is taking their relationship more slowly this time. They have still not discovered what caused the veil to open prematurely, and Niall’s father is becoming impatient. Niall realizes he must let Felicity know who he really is to enlist her help.
Will Felicity put the humiliation of her breakup with William behind her and take another chance with Niall? Can she learn to love and trust this supernatural creature? I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the next episode. The characters are likeable and the mystery about the open veil still waits to be solved!

Bloody hell, was he a double-dose of hotness!
She is part of our past, our present, and our future. Make her our mate forever. HOOOOWEEE! HOT DAMN this is great story!! I am loving this completely and I cannot wait to read the rest! Then I am going to go and read them again with no waiting in between! This is such an amazingly unique story! I love the way it is playing out, the way AC has things flowing is a huge part of the pull & charm of the story. Who knew that horses could be so damn attractive, hot, sexy with this..pull, this...desire that drives even me to know them better *wink* let alone their mate! WHEW!! *fans self* Is it getting hotter in here? Did someone turn the furnace on? I love the parts when Niall's stallion talks to him! It adds a whole new layer, a depth, to the story and helps to make it a better shifter story! It emphasizes that the shifter and his animal counterpart are in fact two entities, two beings, that are in fact one, which in my opinion is what a 'true' or 'real' shifter is all about!! I have never even heard of pucas before this serial from AC, but now I want MORE! Maybe if we keep asking, AC will keep on writing puca shifter stories for us, because I now know that these 4 parts, one story will never satisfy my puca fascination!

Book two and I'm still hooked. After Felicity's "ride" and rejecting Naill, she wakes with no memory of the previous night but one heck of a dream memory--at least that's what she thinks it is. While her BFF is still trying the nail (pun intended) Thomas, Naill is using his friend to keep her busy while he works on Felicity.
The more time them they spend together the more time they want to spend. Felicity continues her investigation of the PUCAs. BFF challenges her to a bet. The first to seduce one of the guys wins. Felicity still considers herself okay, but not someone a gorgeous guy like Naill would go for. Little does she know not only he is more and more interested, but his stallion is insistent.

This book is the 2nd novella, or episode, in the series (and they definitely need to be read in order b/c each book builds on the other). It starts out with Felicity thinking she got drunk at the local pub with her BFF Cyn, but she feels like she had a pretty wild dream starring Niall & herself. Cyn makes Felicity a bet that she can shag Niall's friend before Felicity can shag Niall. Felicity takes her up on that bet b/c she is tired of reliving her past with her ex and she wants at least one night to herself. After investigating some more for her paranormal blog article she runs into Niall and thy go for a walk. A walk that ends up at his family's cottage and has her winning "the bet." Niall can't believe his luck in finding his mate, but still needs to investigate why the veil was opened early. He decided he needed to tell her who he really was, a Puca stallion, and obtain her help in the investigation. She had one condition...she needed to see his "other" form to truly believe. He as willing and could not believe she really was not running from the truth. That had to count for something, right? To be continued...

This is part 2 of the serial series Ride, about Puca shifters by A.C.James. It takes up where part one ended, but Felicity thinks it's all a dream brought on by too many pints of beer. In reality Niall has messed with her memory, until he is able to make her understand how detrimental her outing the Pucas could be , if she writes that they are truly across the "veil" that has opened. Thinking it's all a dream has Felicity and her friend Cyn making a bet as to who will shaggy their chosen guy first, Felicity and Niall, or Cyn and Tomas ( which will never happen as Tomas is faithful to his mate). Felicity wins the bet and how !! Can you say hot !! But again things are not as they seem, when another man comes into the bar claiming to have been attacked by a Puca, and this time when Niall tells Felicity he's a Puca, will she believe him ? Out him in her blog ? Or understand that there is more at stake than her career ? 4☆'s for this second part of the series and can't wait for part 3 , this has everything a paranormal romance lover could want in a book. Umm, ya, so...wow! This just gets better and better. In this second installment Niall is dead set on wooing Felicity, and Felicity has convinced herself that she needs to let go and get over her ex. One guess as to how she plans on doing that...yup, hence "the bet". During this time, the couple gets to know each other and starts to give in to their insta-attraction, both in body and mind. It gets steamy, very, very steamy. Boy does the author know how to write a sex scene. Congratulations!...ok, moving on. Actually, the author just knows how to write period. There were times I was smiling just from their dialogue. Its entertaining, fun, sexy, intriguing, and darn near impossible to put down. On a side note, the interaction between her bestie Cyn and his friend Tomas is getting quite funny. I can't wait to read about what Tomas has lined up for Cyn. Once again we are left with a cliffhanger, and I have a feeling it will be this way with all of the installments until the end. However, the reader has been warned, so yah,.there's that. I'm totally hooked and can't wait for the next one...whoohoo :)

Book two in the Puca Mates series. Felicity is starting to investigate the claims of Puca on the island. Her attraction to Niall is at the fore front of her mind. Cyn is still trying to get Tomas in bed. But a little bit of karma is going on there, along with a few other things. Niall is still trying to convince himself what he feels for Felicity is just him trying to get information out of her.
Got to love Felicity. She is strong and after the last boyfriend she isn't looking for anything lasting. But she does want Niall. Niall knows that Felicity is his mate but he isn't sure he wants to give up his freedom. He is fighting with his stallion over claiming her. Poor Tomas trying to keep Cyn busy while she is trying to get a night of sex out of him. The mystery of the Puca on the island still needs to be solved. Can't wait for the next book. Felicity wakens from a dream, not knowing that it actually happened, but Niall made her forget. Felicity and Cyn make a bet about who will get into bed first with a man: Felicity with Niall or Cyn with Thomas. Felicity and Cyn do not know that Thomas is also a Puca and has a mate and will not be untrue to her. Niall comes back and Felicity falls into bed and into love with him. They go on a date and a construction worker from the resort that is being targeted rushes into the pub claiming he was attacked by a puca. Niall takes Felicity back to his family cottage and introduces her to his sister and tells her what he is and why she cannot publish the story about the pucas; because people will start to wonder and believe and this would be bad for the pucas. Although they are dying out because people no longer believe in them and their magic. Now Felicity wants to ride his stallion again in order to believe his story completely. Can't wait for the next part. I received this as an ARC for an honest review.

This story is amazing!The characters are Awesome. In book one we met Felicity she is a supernatural investigator. She was sent to Ireland to look into a story about a supernatural creature called a puca. A puca is a shape shifting Stallion. There she met Niall O'Leary he is tall sexy total Alpha he is also a puca lol and the puca Chieftan's son. In this book Felicity wakes up with a raging headache, and not much memory of the night before. She thinks what happened with Niall was a dream Niall had exposed his puca to her. Niall has to stop Felicity from writing about the puca. Niall and Felicity spend the day making love. After their date he reveals more about the puca ,and begs her not to write her story. Felicity wants to see his Stallion again. Niall knows he wants Felicity for his mate. Now can he convince her to ride him and be his?. Can he stop her from writing her story that will endanger his clan?. Oh I can not wait for part Three! You will love this story!

This is a cleverly written collection of paranormal stories, volumes 1 thru 4 of the Ride Series. These stories are about the life and love of the of the Puca Mates (shape shifters). Felicity Forrest and Niall O'Leary are the main characters in these stories and while neither one of them is looking for love, they end up finding it. These four stories introduce us to the characters, tell us how they met and why. Then we learn more about them. There is even a very suspenseful part (I won't say what).
The author did a good job writing these stories. I was very pleased to see 4 book turned into one audio book as I won't buy short audio books. The stories are very cleverly written. I LOVE how this author refers to his stallion (brilliant). Great plots too! The narrator, Erin Mallon, delivered a flawless read to us with many different voices and accents.

Please note that each of the episodes are short quick reads. Definitely for 18+ due to sexual situations. Very hot and steamy. Not be read as a standalone as it ends in a cliffhanger. Read each individual episode in order.

The Bet picked up where Awakening left off. Felicity is still looking for answers and Niall is still prancing around. You absolutely should read them in order.
It was really quick but the perfect dose of paranormal to have me happily turning pages even though I knew the end was approaching rapidly.
The plot is really starting to thicken. There was more sexy times in this one and the suspense and mystery is getting more exciting.
I read this in one sitting just like the last one. It was just as engaging as the last part, perhaps even more so!
It ended with a cliffhanger which was not surprising considering it is the second part out of a four part serial.
