Wren Prize is the asshole who got me pregnant seven years ago. And gave me a false name. And walked out of the hotel without a backward glance. Sure, I know I wanted to have sex just as much as he did, but I didn't want to be tossed aside like garbage the second it was done. I also wasn't planning to get pregnant.
Now, after seven years of hating the jerk, I'm living in his city, because it's a small world and I found him by accident. Yes, I realize how crazy that must sound, but my luck is just that bad. The problem is, the Wren Prize of today is not the Wren Prize I've envisioned castrating all this time. And I hate that I can't hate him the way he deserves to be hated. In fact, I'm terrified I might just be stupid enough to be falling for him.
Wren Prize
A daughter. I have a daughter. And I've missed over six years of her life because I decided to go for the world's biggest jerk award. I'm supposed to be the cool-headed one, the mature one, the one everyone goes to for advice. Yet I'm the one who fucked up the most. Sadly, I don't even remember that night. Too much fun, too much sun, and way too much booze.
It's hard to ask for a second chance when you don't even remember the first chance you had. And every time I'm around Allie, even when she's casting me glares that prove she wants me dead, I can't help but wonder what that night was like. Well, what it was like before I ruined her.
I enjoyed this well enough, but it definitely wasn't a favorite in the series. To be honest, I just found Wren and Allie to be somewhat bland. But that's okay. Still enjoyed the read and liked catching up with other characters in the series.
"And what’s her secret boyfriend’s name?” I pry, curious just how much she knows.
“Bob,” she says, going back to her noodles. My brow furrows in confusion.
“Bob? You sure?”
She nods. “Yep. I heard her say his name. Aunt Bella is dating a Bob, too.” Now that has me utterly confused.
“What do they say about… Bob?” I take a bite of my food, chewing slowly as she answers.
“Usually one just tells the other not to bother them because they have a date with their Bob."
This was such a surprisingly funny, cute and sexy read. My enjoyment was hampered by the fact that, even though this can be read as a standalone, the amount of characters from the previous books in the series and their backstories overwhelmed me at times. Lesson learned, should've read this series in order and I've already downloaded the rest of the books.
Liked the premise but the writing was amateur. There were lot of unnecessary secondary characters who had obviously previously had books. They were all syrupy sweet. There was so much OTT wealth. The hero didn't have a job just managed some companies for his mom. Everyone seemed to have a mansion or two on every other hill. It was beyond non realistic. I don't mind wealthy heroes but this just seemed too much. Anther complaint is the storyline. I really liked the set up where the heroine had a child by a one night stand who gave her a fake name. She finally tracks him down after 7 years and tells him he has a daughter. The story then skips ahead 3 months. What? That was the part I wanted to read. The fall out and how everyone handles it. As it was it was just a big bunch of the hero is so wonderful so the heroine forgives him amidst the accolades that all the sicky sweet secondary characters pout on him.
I always do it and then complain - begin a series somewhere in between and turn all confused. But this book had better pick some of the blame here. Because 5-6 previously HEA-ed couples plus plenty wannabe/future ones, family, bffs running amok make for a bumpy read.

Okay by my standards I literally flew through this book. I'd read a chapter (or seven) then say to my self, "okay, this seems like a good place to take a break and get some work done", DID NOT HAPPEN :) less then five minutes later I am back to flying through this book.
I loved Bella and can not wait for her book whenever it's time for it to be released.
So here we have Wren, who made a stupid drunken (really drunken) mistake, to the point of not remembering a single thing, who a few years later finds out this has led to him having a daughter with the girl he met years ago while drunk, in this case the girl was Allie. By coincidental circumstances she ends up In the same city as Wren and in Allie's case (since she wasn't drunk out of her mind), she had more then enough reason to be cold with Wren, especially when dealing with issues regarding their daughter together. But I liked how she instead decided to try to deal with those issues as maturely as possible and I LOVED how Wren literally did everything in his power to make up for... Well everything he did wrong before, even if it wasn't all done knowingly.
This little girl was honestly a dream daughter, everything you could want her to be and more, she is also a little to perceptive for her own good, but anyway...
I really enjoyed the plot and the "will they or won't they" storyline and how it didn't feel one bit dragged out and how all the secondary characters are not treated as pointless things just added in, but as characters who have a role in the lives of both Wren and Allie... And hopefully sooner rather then later Bella as well.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and recommend it as the next thing to read if you are looking :)
UPDATE! The book is out now, I have already ordered it (obviously) and because of my OCD where I have to finish a book before I can start my next one (which is again obviously this book as it has always been at the top of my list), I will now be reading this come tomorrow morning... Or really really late tonight and well into the morning since when it comes to C.M Owens all self control is lost :)
I really tried to see this through Dnf @ 96% because I just didn’t care anymore Not about the characters Not even about the secondary characters Not their drama not their stupid decisions
4 1/2 stars, Seven years ago on Allie's senior trip, what was supposed to be her time to finally act like a kid and be normal she met Wren. After an amazing day together they slept together and then Wren proceed to humiliate and hurt her. Realizing very quickly Wren gave her a fake name all those years ago Allie had no way of contacting him,. When Allie finally found Wren by chance she was scare and glad to have finally tracked him down. Now in the same town Allie is preparing to tell Wren that they have a daughter till at the grocery store one day she runs into him(literally). Knowing she has planned for this day for seven long years Allie knows exactly what she is going to say till she opens her mouth and drops the bomb.
Wren is responsible and the guy everyone can count on, when a beautiful girl runs into him at the grocery store he is shocked when she tells him they know each other from all those years ago and they have a daughter. Never being one to let loose, seven years ago Wren was about to step up in his mothers company and decided to have some fun before adding more responsibility. Drinking way to much Wren doesn't even remember that night but now that he knows about his daughter, Angel he will do everything and jump through every hoop to get to know his daughter and make up for everything they have lost.
Knowing this is what is best for Angel Allie lets Wren and Angel spend time together and Wren does everything she asks even down to the smallest rule. The Wren of today Angels father is not the Wren she met years ago and Allie has a hard time reconciling the two as well as hating this new Wren who loves his daughter over above all else. Wren can't believe how his life has changed and all he wants is to make Angel happy and get on Allie's good side who hates him with good reason, but Wren also can't deny the attraction he feels for Allie.
As Allie works on moving forward she and Wren begin to form a friendship and the more time they spend together the harder it is to deny the attraction Allie feels towards Wren. When the chemistry is too much to deny they begin to move forward but even with all the changes Allie still isn't sure she can trust Wren with her heart and just when she thinks they might be able to people in Wrens life start to cause some trouble that may give Allie no choice in the matter.
I really liked this book, the second I read what this book was about I wanted to give it a try but with several book in my to be read pile I decided to pick five, I would only read three paragraphs of each book and decide which I liked best. The first book I sampled wasn't what I thought it was so I had no desire to read it or keep it on my TBR list. When I opened this sample(to read three chapters) I couldn't stop, after the sample was just about finished I knew this was the book to read not to mention I never even got to the other books. I couldn't put this book down I wanted to see how it all worked out, I wanted to see what would happen next, and I just like the story so much and the characters so much.
Wren was a great guy does he make a mistake no he made a huge mistake one that had consequences and not only for him but for his daughter Allie and his family, and if you read books from this series you see that he's also made some others(ex wife anyone) but Wren is a great guy he would have never knowing left his child or hurt Allie and the second he shakes himself out of shock after being told about his daughter he sets out to make it right not only with Angel but with Allie as well. Wren was patient and understanding, he never once complained about Allies rules. But Wren was also and amazing hero he fell quick and he fell hard for Allie and as a man who had never been in love his possessive instincts kicked right in a took control, Allie was his and no man would ever have her, he would gladly do anything to make her happy.
Allie was a great heroine she was strong and kind and knew when to admit she didn't know it all. Allie also worked at forgiving Wren but she also doesn't make it too easy on him, and above all else she wanted what was best for her daughter. Falling in love with Wren was a true test of her forgiveness and trust in Wren, something that was hard for her to let go of. There are some really funny moments in this book courtesy of Bella, Allie's best friend, roommate and the person who helped with Angel for all these years. The things she comes up with and says in this book were hilarious, and I can't wait to read her book. We get a glimpse in everyones lives both those who have already had a book and those yet to come. And even if you haven't read this book you won't have a problem following along(I only read books one and two and had no problem).
This was a great book to kick back and just enjoy C.M. Owens did an amazing job not only with the characters but with the story line as well. All in all this was an amazing book close to perfect, I do wish the books epilogues were further in the future but I see she gives followups in the future books so I am sure that why she does it that way, and really thats my crazy need for all things epilogue that I have. This was a great book I highly recommend, I'm so glad I stumbled onto this one and took a chance on it, I couldn't have been happier this book.
This was the first book I read by this author and although it's a series, the blurb of this book sounded intriguing to me so I read this one first without reading any other books in the series. Which is why it took me some times to guess who was who when all the side characters started to show up but they were all equally amusing as Wren, Allie and their little daughter- Angel! Wren was mentioned to be a manho but he was surprisingly so mature and the way he tried to make amends with Allie and Angel by easing into the role of a father was really commendable. Also, I loved the way Allie handled the situation. She held back her bitterness and let Wren into Angel's life because her daughter needed a father. She was mature, kind, funny, loyal and headstrong and I just loved her & Wren together! Overall, the book was filled with some cute and funny moments that kept me hooked. The side characters were so entertaining and it was refreshing to see their family bonding. Everyone was so amazing and I'm glad that Allie & Angel found their own place in Wren's closely knit group of family and friends!
This was another book that I plucked from the distant far end of my TBR where it had been languishing since June 2015 , apparently. The great TBR Spring clean continues...
Anyway, this is Wren Prize's story and it all began seven years earlier when he had a drunken one night stand with Allie. That night does not paint Wren in a good light really. Seven years on he has no idea that he now has a child with Allie until their paths cross again.
I had read a couple of the books in the Sterling Shore series and liked them well enough but I really think I should have read some earlier books or re read the ones I had already perused as I got really confused with all the secondary characters - and there are a lot of them. I felt like I wasn't getting all the inside jokes and was out of sync with all the dynamics. But that is on me not the author. Fair to say this works better if you read in order.
Overall, this works well as a surprise baby, rich guy romance. There is plenty of hot stuff and smouldering chemistry plus pretty full on drama and a good dollop of OW angst. Secondary characters generally are a bit muddling (see earlier) but I really liked Bella , Allie's best friend. Angel, who is Allie and Wren's 6yo daughter , is a cutie and I loved watching how the relationship between her and Wren developed. I liked that he didn't meet her and instantly win her heart and all the awards for Daddy of the year. He has to work for his little girl's affection.
HEA? Yes Cheating? No Be aware- Domestic abuse is featured in this book for a secondary character.
This is the first book I’ve read from this series. It was cute, but a lot of fluff. I liked that the main characters were emotionally mature. I liked the dramatic ex-wife and secondary characters. It wasn’t as angsty as I expected it to be. For some reason I hate the name Wren for a H! Sorry to any male Wrens out there. It’s not a very masculine-sounding name.
Wren was basically a paragon and did everything he could to rectify his drunken mistake. Allie had very low self esteem, which annoyed me, and she was soooooo forgiving and accommodating, that there were very few hurdles for Wren to overcome for the reconciliation. This book could’ve been condensed a bit and there were a lot of pages of interactions between characters featured in other books. I would’ve liked the focus to be more on the MC’s since I’m not planning on reading the other books. I would’ve also liked an epilogue with marriage and another child between MC’s, though it’s heavily implied that will happen.
*** Edit: I just read that this author passed away. How freaking sad! This makes me want to read the rest of her books.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It wasn't like Allie Thrash to have a one night stand, but the free flowing drinks and atmosphere had her tumbling in bed with Wren. Regretting her mistake immediately, she didn't realize that nine months later she would be a single mom. Allie tried to find Wren, however her attempts fell short when she realized he had given her a fake name. Seven years later, Allie has moved to Wren's hometown and figured out who he is.
Wren Prize doesn't remember Allie, it was a longtime ago and he was drunk. Finding out he is a dad has blow Wren away, he wants to know his daughter. He also wants to work on his relationship with Allie, even if it is just friends. When they begin pending more time together though, Wren realizes he wants more with Allie he wants a family. Allie is gun shy though and with Wren's unstable ex, Allie is nervous about taking a chance. Can Wren convince her he is worth it?
This is one of my favorites in the series. I understood Allie, from the get go. I thought Wren's approach to getting to know his daughter and working with Allie was wonderful. He knows he could force more but he also understands his daughter's needs and tries to become the Dad he needs to be, even if he has no clue as to what he is doing. Their daughter is adorable, very fun and had some extremely funny moments in this book. Perfect book for sitting outside with a nice breeze.
Not so bad ...but nothing special considering the other plot in this series...from the beginning you realize what will happen, let’s face it is an intriguing plot in some chapters , but nothing with the wow factor like other books Being a stand-alone I may have not buy it... but maybe You ‘l like it much more than me
I read this like...three days ago.and kind of.already forgot. What happened 😂😂😂😂🤔🤔
7 years ago, they bumped their uglies together! like, RUBBED and polished their buttons if you get what im sayjn *wink wink nudge nudge* I remember that part. They were on vacay on some beach (Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I want to take ya, Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama! Ok ill stop) And he was so drunk that he forgot he gave a fake name.so she couldn't find him to tell him she got preggers after their ons (one night stand)
The kid was ok, she stayed in her room or with friends for the majority of the book so that the parents could eff each other and develop their relationship. So that was helpful of her!
The D~r~A~m~A came when an ex tels.the tabloids that she was after him for the money blah blah blah which she wasnt! Duh! Shes in love! Duh!
Don't you worry though! There's a hea. It wasn't as good as loving war or Breaking even.....it was ok 🤷
I have not finished this book but I couldn't wait to share some thoughts on it any longer. I am completely confused about the MMC in this story. To begin with I have read no other books in this series yet. I had this book because I love secret baby stories and I buy them and then read them when I get a chance and I believe this is the only secret baby in the series, althought so far in this story, it is implied Tag's might have a similiar troupe, which I will check out when I can. Now that I've clarified where I stand in this series/story I can not for the life of me figure out what is the deal with this MMC.
Is he a jerk only when he has too much liquor or is he a numbnut who makes poor life decisions like marrying a woman you know cheated on you with your estranged brother just because in one very small aspect of your life her vivacious personality made things easy for you or are you really a nice guy that has sh!t happen to him by accident??? This whole story so far in all his POV's does make him very relatable and rational in his thoughts and behaviors but all this other stuff is so blaringly contrary that I am not sure what the h3ll is going on here.
Was the author trying to fix character holes that were written in the previous books to make him a likeable character in this the sixth book in the series? That has to be the only explanation for this convoluted character. She had him as a secondary character in all the five books before and had him in some fugded up situations and then had to "fix" them for this story. Well, she failed on the fixing part. I like him outside of all his stupid history but not as a complete character. He has more than flaws with the way he is written in this book, he comes off like he has a split personality at best or has an evil twin masquerading as him for parts of his life at worst!
He can't be this perfect guy with one very big drunken mistake but also this guy who lives his life marrying vile people after finding out they cheat AND ruin an already strained relationship with his brother only to then spend years with said cheater like nothing happened and have no feelings about it either way. It's mind boggling! It makes absolutely NO SENSE! I am stuck on this and am having trouble enjoying all the rest of this book and my favorite troupe because of it. The author failed as far as I'm concerned in making this right.
I am sure there will be an HEA because that is where it is going and all the characters are interesting, funny even. All the recaps on the previous characters here are a little too much filler and very distracting in this couples road to their HEA for me. I did go and buy the rest of the series because I do want to see this MMC's story unfold in all the earlier stories to see why this author even bothered with a story for him as he is TSTL IMO. Smh
So, if this story is interesting enough for me to write a review BEFORE I'v even finished it, go and buy ALL the rest of this series to see more of this one very confusing character that I dislike on principle, and I did enjoy the story over all, then this is a good author even with my gripes about this character and how this story is playing out. This author caught my attention.
Enjoy.
UPDATE: I finished the book. There were a ton of grammatical errors that a good decent editor should have picked up as they were so obvious. The tense’s in her sentence structures were all over the place too. The author couldn’t settle in first or third party narrative in individual sentences let alone paragraphs or chapters, never mind the whole book. A lot of structural work needed really.
Having said that, I found it very funny and mildly entertaining. Too many past characters in this story for my personal tastes but they were equally amusing to the plot. I was still left completely unsure about the MMC but he was likable if you ignored ALL of his back story, which defeats the purpose of this whole plot if you do. I still stand by my three star rating as it was an okay read. I’ll give this author another shot and see how that goes but not with this series. These stories are too intertwined between each other for my tastes, especially as I started with book six. I’ll read the others another time.
Lastly, RIP to the author, it’s always sad when people pass but it’s tragic when it’s so unexpected as hers was. Sorry to see a young person who still had so much to give with her talent taken from the world. Best wishes to all who knew and loved her. My condolences to all.
“Perfection doesn’t make someone a good person. Someone who owns their mistakes and does all they can to make it right… well, that’s a good person.” ✨
“Forgiveness has never been a strength of mine. In fact, I feel weak when I forgive someone and absolve them of their sins. It feels like I’m telling them it’s okay to screw me over.”❤️
•Review: 3.25⭐️ This was an okay read! I liked their relationship and how Wren did everything in his power to redeem himself and show Allie how sorry he is. He fought for her and Angel and didn’t give up!
•More moments/quotes:
“But don’t ask me to make popcorn. I always screw it up. You’ll end up with half a bag of kernels because I panic when it actually starts popping.”
“Mr. Prize, are you and your friend going to be needing more than a dress?” Apparently the fake-smiler is making her move. “Babe, you need anything else?” Wren asks, and my heart kicks my chest. Shit. Why does the sound of him calling me babe do anything to me?
“It’s peaceful and it’s more natural than anything in my life. Allie Thrash is it for me. I finally understand why guys go so bat-shit crazy over the women they love.”
“Please. I can tell you’ve been crying. Let me come to you.”
“I’d rather curl up with you and go to sleep.”
“Allie is an entirely different sort of love, but I’m equally lost without her. And I’m smart enough to realize that I don’t want to f* this up.”
“I’m very serious. I love you. I love Angel. And I love the way it feels when we’re all together. I also really love it when you and I get to have moments like this, just the two of us. I want it all, Allie. And I want it all the time.”
This book has been purchased by me and I was not asked by the author for the review. All thoughts here are 100% mine.
And here we go again! C.M. Owens has done it again. She never stops to amaze me. Her books are amazing. Full of laughter, well developed characters, action and so much sexiness! I loved every bit of it.
The is the #6 book in one of the best series I have ever read. Sterling Shore. Yeah, full of hot guys, that are just perfect. Yum. My perfect, Kade opens the series with his and Raya's story, but let's concentrate on his cousin, Wren, who is also a guy every girl dreams of ;)
The book is told from the POV of 2 main characters: Allie and Wren. Allie, a poor girl from a foster family decides to have an amazing night during her school reunion. She just wants to let go and just to have fun. She finds all of that with a handsome stranger, Wren Jacobs. He is sweet and looks at her like no one ever did. And he loves it. They have an amazing night together. Until he gets up and leaving her with a short bye. She was shocked and felt stupid. And even more after she realised that the only protection they had broke. And this changed her life. 7 years later she finds herself living in Sterling Shore. Town of her one-stand madness, who left her with hatred...and a daughter. Wren Prize, not Jacobs as he told her, is the centre of her feelings. Good and Bad. At the beginning she hates him. Even loathes him. But when she watches him how he is toward their daughter, she is melting and her feelings changes.
Wren. Damn he is sexy as hell. Just right after getting divorced, he finds out that he has a daughter. A 7 years old daughter. And being the amazingly responsible person he always seemed to be, he wants to make it up to her. But it's not easy as he is not sure what to do. He was not ready for being a father and spending time with a 7 year old kid, who is smarter than most kids is not helping. And also the mother of Angel is not helping either. She is reserved, cold towards him. And despite all that she makes his blood boil. And he wants her so bad like nothing and no one ever before.
This book made me laugh and cry. Allie and Wren are a perfect couple. I loved them both. She is trying hard to trust him and be more open towards him, but also not fall for him. And he is set to make everything right. It was emotional book. I think one of the most emotional from the whole series. I choked up together with Wren when Angel called him Dad for the first time. When they went for the first daddy-daughter date I had tears in my eyes. But even all of that was perfect and so nice, what I loved the most? That CM didn't make into a cheesy romance only. She put some tragedy and drama there, not overdoing it and also made me laugh so hard that I was hurting and gasping for air. Literally.
The situations between Allie and Bella? Hilarious! Especially when Wren, always had the luck to walk in on all those conversations. The Prank war between Brin and Rye is never ending, and lightens the whole book! And the fact that everyone from the gang is involved in the, just makes them even better! I LOVED this book.
Full and amazing 5 stars!
Even though this book is kind of as standalone, I would recommend reading them in order just to get a feeling about the characters and some parts of the book are from the previous parts.

I forgot to write a review of this one. All I really have to say is that the amount of side characters from previous books weighed this one down. And also this story was not good. Otherwise? Who knows.
This was the first book I read in this series last year. It was ok for me at first but after reading more books from this series, I realized the pattern. Love interests meet, get to know each other or have a love-hate relationship thing going on, try to suppress their feelings for one another, have steamy scenes together, then everything is going fine until some unnecessary drama is thrown in the mix leading to their break up or separation, then they find a way to be together and confess their love for each other. There's nothing so bad about it but it just gets tiring of reading the same thing over and over again. Not saying all the books in this series are the same but majority of them. Also, there are too many secondary characters that it's hard to keep up with who is who and their involvement in the story. It's nice seeing other couples once in a while but I just felt like it was too much talking about how deeply they love one another and how they're so perfect for each other, especially since this was the first book I read so it got really confusing. Most of the time, I felt like the other couples kinda distracted me from the main couple which should not be so and I disliked how the spotlight was not placed on the actual stars of the book but rather the minor characters for not much reason. Both of the characters were ok just not really engaging. I like Allie but didn't really connect with her the way I connected with Harley. Bella was a fun bonus too, maybe one of my favourite heroines. Wren was pretty forgetful and not that strong of a character to read about. It took me about two to three weeks to finish this book as it was kind of a snooze fest and not much was happening in the book, just mostly filler chapters talking about their exaggerated wealth, status and relationship with their friends and family? Was it a good book? Yes, to say the least. Was it memorable? Not so sure about that. Would I recommend it? Yes, to some extent. Is it in my favourites? Definitely not.
Father and Kid? Just as so many others on here I would have loved to read about the first time Waren meets his daughter and the way she reacts to him. It was disappointing to not find out about that. Cause the problem is there is a time lapse and it's somehow just blurred over. We get the scene in which daddy finds out about his kid and then some weeks later we get a scene in which he has his kid for an hour every now and then.
But then it was okay (mind me, not good just okay) because Angel hasn't really warmed up to him so yeah... I just assumed that nothing really important happened in that time span and that the worst is yet to come :-) But then again something was missing.
I loved the scenes with father and daughter. I did but somehow they never really talked... The scenes were described and it was hinted at that they talk but we didn't get the actual dialogue. Or we hardly got the actual dialogue. And that just wasn't enough cause I just wanted the girl's reaction to so much more...
Plot? The plot was plausible. I got why it took the heroine so long to tell the baby daddy. Plus he seemed like the biggest a#. And she didn't try to keep him from his kid on purpose.
Other than that, I liked this one. I didn't have to cry like I had to with the last one but it was lovely nonetheless. I am not sure whether I adored it, though, cause there were just some aspects missing..
My favorite elements of this series? First it's a series and second we can see all the side characters interact with each other again, help each other out, rile each other up etc. That was fun and I adored it.
So all in all, that one wasn't as good as the last one (even though there was a kid in it and that's usually one rating up) but It's still a good read and I can only say, read it to see for yourselves.
I was really excited for Wren's book but only after reading 20% I'm so disappointed and irritated.
I loved almost all the characters from the previous books (well except for Rain and Dane. I have no words, but I hate those two). Anyway, my point is why bring them in every freaking chapter? So many secondary characters that I was literally bored to death reading it.
The stupidity continues and once in a while we see H and h bonding or else the author keeps writing about the other characters and how happy they are (also I think author's fav couple is Rain and Dane which I hate the most) so there were more scenes of them being all happy and blah blah then about H and h.
Also h's pov was so irritating, I was just skipping through the pages not wanting to read them.
I also didn't like her roommate Bella and I'm not really gonna read her book either, it's getting boring now.
I think I'm gonna stop reading this series right here, I loved almost every book of this series.
I loved Brin and Rye, Tag and Ash, Kode and Tria, Kade and Raya, Wren and Ethan but that's it, and all other characters like Rain and her bodyguards (except for Kode) can go and rot in hell for all I care, I wish I had not even started reading her story! 😒
OK, so I have been following this series and actually reading them in order since I found them. Breaking Even was my favorite. Until I read A Redo. C.m. Owens is coming into her own. Her writing and characters are good to start with, but they have grown! I laughed hard when Brin and Rye were going at it with their antics. But this is top notch! I didn't just laugh hard I swear I howled like hyena, and cackled like a banshee. my neighbors have to think I finally lost it, cause yes. They could hear me. My side ached, my eyes leaked, and I snorted... at least 3 times. So obviously the humor was phenomenal. But the way all the characters were brought together in this novel helps you realize this isn't just a love story of two people. Or even between the mom dad and daughter. This is a story of how family grows with each love. And who we love is family, blood or not. 5 hilarious stars! *****
Skips over everything you want to read in this trope. The conversation where he finds out about a child he didn’t know existed - he spaces out and becomes non responsive. It then skips ahead 3 months leaving out the actual conversation, his reaction / her feelings, everything!! Also skips his first meeting / several meetings with the child. Bizarre - every scene you expect / look forward to in a secret baby trope is skipped. DNFd at that point cuz I’m sure everything else interesting is probably left out also. What a strange way to tell a story! I won’t be reading this author again.

Omg..loved it!!! This series has yet to disappoint me. Every book is a must read that you'll never be able to put down once you start reading. Am so happy for Wren...he is one guy that I always liked now I love. Great storyline, wonderfully written and told. Another hit...five well deserved stars. I literally can't wait for Corbin's story and all the others to come.

She knew that it was her daughter's right to have a father in her life, and as Angel was getting older and starting to ask questions, Allie couldn't put it off any longer. But as she got to know him better, she found herself drawn to him once again, even though she knew it was a bad idea.
⇢ Wren Prize is a character who regrets the past and the mistakes he made that cost him six years with his daughter. Despite his reputation as the stable and rational member of his social circle, he acknowledges that he failed his child by not being present. He has no recollection of the night that changed his life forever, and this makes it even more challenging for him to ask for a second chance.
⇢ Nevertheless, he is determined to make things right and will do everything in his power to be a good father to his daughter and to earn Allie's trust and prove that he's worthy of this second chance.
⇢ The chemistry between Allie and Wren is electric, and their witty banter and interactions are both hilarious and heartfelt. They both grow and learn to forgive each other as they navigate the complexities of their past and try to build a future together.
⇢ The relationship between Allie and Angel is also a highlight of the book, and Allie's best friend Bella provides much-needed comedic relief in the midst of the drama.
⇢ Overall, C.M. Owens delivers a funny and heartwarming story about second chances and unexpected love. Allie and Wren's romance will make you laugh, swoon, and root for their happily ever after.
