Darkest Magic: A Why Choose Academy Fantasy

by Helen Scott

Power rules this academy.

I have no name, no legacy, and magic my professors can't even identify. I'm a flaw in their perfect system.

I planned to stay invisible. Instead I've caught the attention of the three most dangerous men on campus.

A lethal fire wielder who can't burn me. A quiet outcast with a secret I'm the first to uncover. And the ruthless tutor assigned to judge my magic, whose iron control starts to slip the instant I step too close.

They want to contain me. Control me. Bind me with rules that were never written for someone like me.

I'm not supposed to want any of them. I'm definitely not supposed to want all three.

But every time I touch magic, ancient laws crack. And I'm starting to think there's a reason my magic was forgotten.

Couldn't put it down! 👀💜

What a great Why Choose read- I immediately devoured this in one sitting! Stranger in a strange land indeed. Plopped out of her comfort zone and into a completely new and baffling place at the Æscholt Academy, with no rule book or explanations on hand...Billie does what she does best - uses her sarcasm, intelligence, determination, boldness and sheer faith to make it from one day to the next. Maybe then she can figure out what is going on. I absolutely *adore* this strong, bold FMC!!!! Such a fun read all around. What's not to love when magic, the paranormal and a strong female are involved? I really enjoyed getting to know *all* the characters, and diving into this fascinating new world. I absolutely couldn't put this down.

This was an amazing start to a series! I love a good academy why choose with magic, especially magic systems that are different. I look forward to reading more about Billie and her men. Definitely recommend!

What a fantastic Paranormal Academy book! Our FMC is strong and witty. She doesn't take anything for granted. Her life changes in unexpected ways and a new world is introduced to her. This book was wonderful! Must read. Can't wait to see what happens next!
