Obsession: His Devotion Is Lethal by Erica Metcalf is the kind of book that pulls you in from the first chapter and refuses to let go. Caleb Hale and Katie Wilder’s story is packed with suspense, emotional intensity, and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing all the way through.

Obsession: His Devotion is Lethal is an addictive, fast paced romantic thriller that grabs hold from page one and refuses to let go. The story is packed with an intriguing plot that constantly shifts, keeping you on edge with unexpected twists that make it nearly impossible to put down.
One of the standout elements is the witty banter between the main characters. Their sharp, playful exchanges had me laughing out loud more than once—much to my husband’s confusion—which added a delightful brightness to an otherwise intense narrative. Even the male characters, Caleb and Liam, bring their own charm and uniqueness, enriching the entire cast and making every interaction feel alive.
The book balances humor with heat and suspense. The spicy, intense scenes are woven naturally into the storyline, heightening emotional stakes rather than feeling gratuitous. And once Katie meets Caleb, everything kicks into a higher gear—tension rises, danger sharpens, and the emotional pull deepens.
Throughout the read, I felt a full spectrum of emotions: suspense, concern, laughter, and everything in between. It’s a story that keeps your heart racing while still giving you characters you genuinely care about.

I loved the feel of this book. It was a fast paced read and combined suspense and the character's individual responses to the events to make a highly entertaining and interesting read.
I think she captured the symptoms and triggers of trauma and living with trauma really well, in a way that wasn't overdone, and I like that the FMC started out struggling with her issues and gradually as the story went on, found the strength to deal with them. Strong female characters are great but getting to read them build themselves back up is entirely different.
I loved all the spice and that it wasn't central to the story, but part of it.
The MMC was yummy. But I think I liked the secondary character better.
For a psych thriller and suspense novel this book was funny. I was laughing at parts the whole way through. The FMC's thought process and sarcasm was so fun to read.
I would definitely recommend this book. But I think more could have been done from the angle of the killer. it would have made it more interesting to read his POV with the rest of it.

Obsession: His Devotion is Lethal is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Erica Metcalf delivers a suspenseful story filled with tension, unexpected twists, and emotionally charged moments. The characters are compelling, and the atmosphere keeps you guessing as the mystery unfolds. The pacing is excellent, making it difficult to put the book down. If you enjoy thrillers that blend obsession, danger, and suspense, this is definitely worth reading. A captivating novel that will stay with you long after the final page.
