After reading Wingless in the Sky, I came away genuinely impressed. This isn’t just another romantasy with angels and forbidden love—it feels like a story about identity, loneliness, and finding where you belong. Lia immediately won me over because she isn’t introduced as a gifted heroine everyone admires. She’s a failure in everyone else’s eyes, constantly humiliated, trapped in a magic system that simply wasn’t built for her. Watching her struggle while knowing there’s something extraordinary buried inside her made it easy to root for every small victory. The opening chapters hooked me immediately, especially the disastrous lesson with Master Gaspar and the political fallout that followed, because they showed that every mistake carried real consequences.
The biggest strength of the novel is its worldbuilding. Lana Delmoure creates three very distinct cultures—humans, Highfolk, and Deepfolk—that all feel believable instead of existing just to support the romance. I especially enjoyed Empress Maren, who may be my favorite character in the book. She isn’t a simple villain or mentor; she’s a ruler forced to make ruthless decisions for the survival of an empire, and that moral complexity gives the political storyline real weight. As the story expands into the floating kingdoms, Lia’s growing bond with Kyrian becomes the emotional center of the novel. Their relationship develops through shared burdens rather than instant attraction, making the romance feel earned, and by the time they finally lower their emotional walls, it lands because of everything they’ve endured together. Even then, the book refuses to let them enjoy peace for long, ending with a massive invasion that raises the stakes for the next installment instead of wrapping everything up neatly.
If I had one criticism, it’s that the pacing occasionally slows beneath long stretches of political discussion and magical exposition. Readers looking for nonstop action may find parts of the middle slower than the explosive opening and ending. Even so, I think the investment pays off because those quieter chapters deepen the characters and make the emotional moments hit much harder. For me, Wingless in the Sky earns a 5/5 stars. It’s an ambitious debut that blends romance, political intrigue, emotional character growth, and imaginative fantasy into a story that left me wanting the sequel immediately. It’s the kind of book that reminds me why I enjoy discovering new fantasy worlds—you finish the final page feeling like you’ve only just scratched the surface.

Thanks again for providing me with the ARC copy of this book Lana Delmoure. I really liked all of the major themes that you had going on in this book about the battle between good and evil and freedom and the caste system.
I thought it was really interesting how the perspectives of who was good and evil kept shifting or changing throughout the book. At first it was painted that all of the sky nations were "bad" because they believed themselves to be higher and more noble than anybody who was wingless or in the middle kingdoms. But then we travel to Aeloria, and we find out that no that is not the case and they are a place where while not everyone is exactly equal, they still believe in fairness and justice and doing what is right and very throughout the book the prince comes to love the main character who is wingless and finally towards the end of their book commit their love to each other.
I also thought it was interesting how at first Tross seemed to be presented as the enemy, but then the remaining survivors from Aeloria ended up fleeing to Tross in order to seek safety as they were the main group rebelling about the unjust caste systems. While it turned out that someone in their own nation was the one that ended up turning on their kingdom and betraying them in the end! I Can't wait to read what happens next in this series!

This book is a MUST read for anyone who loves a well written and thought provoking story. It kept me on thinking ahead and wondering. I really just had to finish it. This is a read of romance, timing, thoughts on prejudice, family goals and loyalty, I mean it is just good. I can't wait to get the next one. It is a GREAT read that takes you into a fun escape.

Wingless in the Sky by Lana Delmoure completely swept me away from the very first chapter. As someone who absolutely loves romantasy, this book gave me everything I look for—beautiful world-building, political intrigue, slow-burn tension, and a heroine I couldn't help but root for. ☁️🪽✨
Lia is such a refreshing main character. She's underestimated because of her mysterious magic, yet her quiet strength and determination make her incredibly inspiring. Watching her navigate the breathtaking but dangerous world of Aeloria kept me turning pages long into the night. The sky cities felt vivid and magical, and every new revelation made the story even more addictive.
And Kyrian... wow. 😍 He's the perfect cold, proud prince whose layers slowly unravel as the story progresses. The chemistry between him and Lia is filled with tension, meaningful moments, and just the right amount of emotional depth. I found myself smiling at their interactions more than once.
What I loved most was how the fantasy elements blended seamlessly with the emotional journey. Every secret uncovered raised the stakes, and the ending left me eager for more. I usually connect with stories through the characters first, so it took me a while to settle into the world and all the political aspects of the plot. Once the story reached the later chapters, everything started coming together, and I found myself much more invested in the characters than I was at the beginning.
Lia’s growth throughout the story was wonderful to watch, and Kyrian became a character I appreciated more with every chapter. Their relationship was built on trust, sacrifice, and genuine understanding, which made the emotional moments feel rewarding. The final part of the book was my favorite, with higher stakes, heartfelt moments, and plenty of action that kept me turning the pages.
Although this wasn’t a perfect match for my personal reading preferences, I can appreciate the depth of the world the author created and the care that went into the characters’ journeys. I went into Wingless in the Sky because the premise sounded too intriguing to pass up, and I'm so glad I did. This book completely pulled me into its world from the very beginning.
The worldbuilding was one of my favourite parts. The sky cities, winged nobility, political tension, and magic all came together in a way that felt unique without being overwhelming. I loved uncovering the mysteries alongside Lia, and I was invested in her journey as she tried to find her place in a world where she never truly fit in.
The romance is a slow burn, just how I like it. Every moment between Lia and Prince Kyrian felt earned, and their chemistry built naturally throughout the story. It left me wanting more every time they were on the page together.

A wonderfully written original fantasy novel by a first-time author! I absolutely loved the world building and the unique idea to creates 3 different races, who live on increasingly higher planes and have varying magical abilities, most of the book is set in the ethereal setting.
I love how these two ‘imperfect’ MC creatures break internally and must be rebuilt with more conviction than should be possible. Together they must sacrifice everything for a chance at love and change in their land but are forced to make their decision hastily and endure the consequences.
The descriptive writing allows the reader to immerse themselves in this magical story. A great start to the series! I personally can’t wait to also see what happens to Romi and Queen Maren (side characters) as the story continues. A must read!

Reading fantasy is new to me, so this book was a test of how I would fare.
The setting is detailed and imaginative, and I quickly became absorbed in the distinct characters and forms of magic. The story alternates between Lia, a Midfolk mage struggling to use Highfolk heart magic. And Maren, the Empress of Maritana, who becomes involved in the mystery surrounding the Deepfolk Chief’s life-sustaining stone.
I was left guessing most of the time as the secrets unrolled. The romance felt unpassionate, which seemed a deliberate ploy to avoid overshadowing the plot. It ends with unresolved elements to bait future interest.
Well, my verdict is a rather pleasing one for a person not well acquainted with fantasy material, and it left me wanting to read the sequel.

I first heard about Wingless in the Sky through an East Side Bookclub discussion, and the premise immediately caught my attention. After finishing the book, I can honestly say it completely exceeded my expectations. Lana Delmoure has created an extraordinary fantasy world that feels both fresh and immersive. The sky cities, winged nobility, political intrigue, and magical mysteries all blend together beautifully. Lia is a heroine you can't help but root for, especially as she struggles to find where she belongs in a world that constantly reminds her she's different. The slow-burn relationship with Prince Kyrian develops naturally, making every interaction meaningful. This is one of the strongest fantasy debuts I've read in years, and I cannot wait for the next installment.

I enjoyed the magical world-building, especially the different approaches to magic and the contrast between traditional learning and instinctive power. The author does a great job creating curiosity around Lia’s abilities and making the reader want answers.

East Side Bookclub introduced me to Wingless in the Sky, and I couldn't be happier with the recommendation. Lana Delmoure's writing is elegant, descriptive, and emotionally engaging. Every scene is vividly imagined, making it easy to picture the magnificent cities above the clouds and the political tensions hidden beneath their beauty. The romance develops slowly and naturally, allowing both Lia and Kyrian to grow individually before their relationship truly blossoms. I appreciated how the story explores themes of identity, belonging, trust, and sacrifice alongside its exciting fantasy elements. This is an unforgettable start to what promises to be an incredible series.

It was a refreshing step away from the fantasy books I have been reading filled with fae, though I still love those. I am excited to read the next installment in the Soul and Wing series.

An excellent start to what feels like a very promising fantasy series. Lia is an easy character to root for, and the world above the clouds is beautifully imagined. The slow-burn romance and political intrigue kept me turning the pages. Can't wait for the next book!

How to interest the reader is very simple - try to reveal the potential of the heroine in the most unexpected way. If you are looking for something new about the love of an angel and a human, then this book will be a pleasant surprise. A wonderfully written world system, a combination of psychology, a romantic line and betrayal.
The main character first bursts in like a fiery wave, full of surprises. In contrast to her, Kirian, who is more closed and knows how to control his power, hides a dark side in himself. Their love shouldn't exist, but it does, no matter what. Of course, a connection is created between them, from which you cannot escape. Trope: From enemies to lovers.
