Awesome

Quick, concise and to the point. Im going to try some of her stuff right now. I think the most valuable piece of he book is her personal experience navigating through issues of being self employed.

Finally! A book with honest, useful advice, and was proofread before being published.

I've read many books on how to make a living as a writer, and most of them were not helpful at all. Susan's book, however, gave the right advice in a logical and focused format, without the hype. Her writing style was informative without being too formal. And, there were no grammatical or spelling errors!

I can easily believe Susan makes her living as a writer. I can't say that about so many of the other ebooks I've read by so-called professional writers.

Thank you, Susan.

A good starting point

This book is best suited for novices who might be interested in becoming a freelance writer. It gives some solid foundational insights and advice from a professional who's been there, and built a freelance business of her own. This book is a starting point, but might be a useful sounding-board for exploring their options in the freelance industry-and not just writers.

I found this to be primarily an overview of what freelance writing is, with some tips on how to be a freelancer. Any time something of real interest was mentioned, it referred me to another book for more information. It's as good as any place to start, but you would need plenty more reading to be able to start your own business.

This book contains some good, high-level pointers on what would be required to start a freelance writing business or to become involved with an agency. It isn't terribly descriptive about the details of the individual steps for the most part, but the information could be valuable to someone looking at becoming a professional writer at some level.

Good but wasn't what I expected

Good for freelance writers looking for information. I was looking for writing advice or tips or something. Still this was excellent for what it was for. Downloaded through KU.

Excellent Intro to starting a freelance writing business

I would recommend this book to anyone thinking about starting their own freelance writing business. Susan gives good advice because she has done this herself and knows how to teach it.

A fabulous book.

Susan's voice was so sure and so confident because of her deep experience. I would really follow her anywhere she told me to write. Thank you so much. I truly feel that I' m up to the challenge because I can see it's possible to do it.

Like getting advice from a knowledgeable friend

Good, solid information on starting out as a freelance writer. Would've like more info on pitching and reaching decision makers. Great overview, written in an engaging tone. Thank you!

I was disappointed with this. There is some practical advice but no real specifics. This book turned out to be a funnel for the author's paid online classes.
