I made it 210 pages into this book, and I felt no real bound to the MC or any of the LIs. In fact, I had trouble remember who they were. This is in part due to the fact that while in the mechs, they use call-signs, but outside of the mechs, they use names. If the author had included a brief "main characters" section at the beginning to refresh my memory of who went with what call sign, and a brief paragraph bio, I might have felt more in tune with the characters.
There's the bones of a decent plot in this series, but the execution just leaves me somewhat cold. And I felt no draw to any of the LIs in the book, as they were all flat to me after it being a while since the previous book was read.
Another great end to an amazing trilogy. I'm hoping you do a second trilogy for this series. Just need the need the last book in the privateers series. Really enjoying your books and so happy I found otherworld all then years ago as you've got better and better over the time, Runner is still number 1 though. Keep up the good work.
I've enjoyed Wayne's growth from a nobody to a hero for multiple systems. The surprises and new plot lines this book brought were fantastic and made it hard to put the book down. I just hope this won't be like Arands other trilogoes with a large gap before book 4.
W.D.A. can tell a story, get you to care about not only the MC, but the side characters too. Just when it looks like it’s over, there is a twist and we are off and running again! The was a bit is a roller coaster and we still only have a glimpse into what the MC might actually be, I hope the audible comes out soon!
In the top 10 best science fiction series out there now!!!
An absolute joy to read!!! An ever expanding world/universe, outstanding characters and an underlying mystery make this a must read in my opinion!!! To no ones surprise that has read anything this author has written. This series is well edited, entertaining and just a wonderful story!!!
I enjoyed the characters and the story ark. I read it assuming that it would be the last book in a trilogy but the end is so open that more books could follow. I hope so.
Man I love this series. Gives me mechwarrior and battle tech vibes so hard. Mc is op on a believable way just making it more fun. If only this was a Darren book haha. Hopefully we get more!
This is a great addition to this story. The themes and premise in this novel appear, to me at least, to have tones reminiscent of battletech \ Mechwarror themes which I enjoyed as well. Great work. I look forward to the next one.
Wonderful tale of a normal guy thrust into amazing situations. He works hard and gaining several astounding lovers. Good story, wonderful world building and characters who sneak into your heart. 10/10 absolutely recommend!!
At with almost every book by Arand it was awesome. Everything balanced, good plots that have great detail and complexity. Strong characters that don't turn flat or get left out, etc.
Return to Form for William Arand. Book was well written with lots of plot and story development. I look forward to seeing what is next after this series.
