The Houses We Keep felt like a realistic look at the kind of affluent suburban neighborhood you can find almost anywhere in America. The author captures the social dynamics that exist beneath the surface of community events, school activities, and friendly conversations. The characters felt believable, and I found myself invested in the relationships and tensions that developed throughout the story.
The pacing is more thoughtful than fast, and has a slight middle lag, but it suits the story well. A good read for anyone who enjoys character-driven fiction about community and friendships by proximity

Really enjoyed. I was surprised how quickly I felt invested in the main character and the neighborhood drama. We live in these neighborhoods and see these type of women everyday. Blair Wiles captures these “moms” and “wives” in real light and shows can’t trust the packaging and the surface as being real. Great read for summer!
