Violet Fox is a lover of foxes and the colour purple...
When she's not writing about werewolves, vampires, and faeries, she can be found watching cute fox videos online, or drinking a ridiculous amount of tea and cof
Three books. This author is THREE BOOKS IN and STILL can’t do a grovel. You don’t feel remorse. You feel a slight bit of “oops we f’d up we should fix that” but the FMC does not DOES NOT make them work for it. She isn’t strong and she feels bad EVERY TIME she makes any remark that’s about being lonely or how they picked Emma over her. It’s just so unsatisfying. I keep trying thinking— the author has to see these reviews and make a change. But. She does not. It’s so frustrating.
I really wanted to love this as rejected mates is a favorite troupe. However, the pace and brevity of this really kept this from being impactful. There were so many great opportunities for emotional depth and all the pain and hurt were washed away in bbs and rabid phermones. The writing is not bad; I just desperately needed more substance to truly invest.
This series is fast becoming one of my favourites, and Violet Fox has smashed it yet again with book 3. I love nothing more than a good grovel session, and this book is full of them. It's a great read.
