One jock. One nerd. Zero chance this ends professionally.
Riley Webb came out as gay at the end of last the biggest season of his career. He expected backlash. He didn’t expect it to become the only thing anyone talked about.
Riley just wants to play hockey. But the media is all over him — especially when his performance starts slipping. When he’s traded to Montreal less than a month into the season, he finds a whole new problem waiting for Louis Debonnes.
Louis spent the last ten years hustling. He left behind a conservative family who couldn’t accept him, and built a career and unapologetically queer identity in Montreal. But AI is making the job market tough for a coder. His new position might be the last opportunity he performance analyst for his favorite NHL team.
The player he’s analyzing? Riley Webb. The problem? Riley refuses to admit he needs help. Especially not from some nerd.
Louis isn’t giving up. Riley is determined to keep him out. And somewhere between the grueling practice sessions and late nights scouring the data together, Riley is forced to admit the he needs this nerd. In more ways than one.
But Louis is hiding pain of his own. And if Riley can’t get out of his own way, he may be too hung up on himself to see it.
Failure isn’t an option. The only way to win is to save each other.
Bro Code is a standalone, dual-POV, rivals-to-lovers MM hockey romance featuring a gay athlete owning his identity, found family, explicit open-door scenes, and a satisfying HFN.
I loved this so much! I knew I would because the first two books were so damn good! This story is about Riley who came out when Nic did in book 1 and Louis the new data analyst who had a night with Riley after the olympics but Riley didn’t remember! Their relationship starts off as enemies and we have tension! But they aren’t together a lot until Riley is traded to where Louis works! Louis tries to help his game because he can see that it’s not a injury that’s hurting Riley it’s his mental game and oh my god it’s so adorable when he starts helping personally even though it may hurt his job! Their tension filled sexual escapades in the beginning goood lord! It’s like they are trying to one up each other! I feel like their relationship progressed naturally in the beginning it’s like it will never happen again to texting updates and wanting to be around each other all the time! Riley’s mental health is a major issue in this book he feels like when he came out with Nic that he’s kind of on his own because everyone accepted Nic and Liam didn’t come out at all! One moment that was my favourite was during a press conference after there was a big fight on the ice Nic and Liam were in it and reporters were yelling at Liam who’s autistic and they kept asking and asking why he jumped in the fight and he yelled because he’s gay and he’s in love with Nic LOL the double date!!! The Instagram post of the league of extraordinary gay gentleman!!!! I loved this book so much and I really hope this isn’t the last in the series!! I love that Riley is going to Christmas with Louis family who he has tension with because of him being gay but his Mom is sick so he’s trying to spend more time with them! And then Louis going to new years with Riley’s!!!

Louise and Riley definitely have a hit-and-miss connection in the beginning, but watching them find their way to each other was so sweet. These two really are perfect for each other.
What Riley went through with NY was NOT okay. His agent seriously should have tried harder to have his back. But honestly? Riley was meant for Montreal, and maybe everything happened for a reason. 😉🏒
Louise is dealing with his own struggles, especially when it comes to his Manman and Papa. My heart hurt for him, but at least he has his sister in his corner. Everyone needs that one person who will stand beside them no matter what.
And speaking of standing beside someone… THAT HOCKEY GAME SCENE IN NY?! 👏👏👏
That was how you show someone you have their back! WTG!!! 🙌
I loved watching Riley and Louise come together and build something that felt genuine, sweet, and full of chemistry. They just fit.
Another great hockey romance from Hailey Reaves! 🏒❤️ Definitely check this one out.
I absolutely LOVED Riley and Louis! 😍 These two had me hooked from the start!
Riley is stubborn, grumpy and determined to handle everything on his own, while Louis is smart, confident and absolutely refuses to let Riley push him around. The way they constantly butt heads had me grinning because you just KNOW there is something brewing underneath all that irritation. 😂🔥
And the chemistry… OH MY GOD. 👀
I loved watching Riley slowly go from “I don't need this nerd” to basically realising that Louis has become the person he relies on. Those little moments where Riley starts letting Louis see the parts of himself he keeps hidden were honestly some of my favourites.
Louis completely stole my heart, though. 🥹 He's been through so much, yet he's built this life for himself and refuses to apologise for who he is. I loved how strong he was, but also how we got to see the vulnerable side underneath it all.
These two really needed each other, and I loved watching them figure that out.
There was plenty of hockey, banter, tension and those delicious little moments that had me wanting to scream at them to JUST KISS ALREADY. 😂 The romance felt emotional as well as sexy, and I loved seeing their relationship develop while they were both dealing with their own personal struggles.
Riley and Louis just FIT. ❤️
I absolutely loved how all the past characters came and supported Riley. Im definitely not ready to say goodbye to these men just yet 💕
A slower start but worth the read. This great series continues, this time with Louis and Riley's story. LOVE the spice in this book - the author nailed it and did not disappoint!
This book tackles mental health in a way that makes it relatable, and it was nice to have that portrayed in an MM hockey romance. I have no clue how anything about data science works, so I found that aspect of Louis' job interesting - do NHL teams really have that much information about their players??
This book is well written, like always, and the interspersed French throughout the book was a fun pop of color. It was fun to see Riley and Louis grow closer and find their HEA.
It was lovely to have Nic and Liam in this story, too, as Riley plays for the same team that they do. I'm looking forward to the next book that will feature all of the extraordinarily gay gentlemen! I might read Medaling again while I wait...
🏒 Nerd x player 🏒 Hook up 🏒 Coming out 🏒 Hurt & Healing 🏒 Grumpy & sunshine 🏒 Size difference 🏒 Exhibitionism, public sex, verse MCs, Facefuck, BJ, HJ, Filming, Temperature play
Solid 3rd story in this series Riley and Louis but appearing in the first book as side characters now get their chance. The end of the first book had both these boys having big life changes. Louis has a new job doing analysis for the Montreal hokey team thanks to book one Hero Nic and also thanks to Nic Riley is suddenly a gay poster boy. Riley is struggling with the pressure and it's showing in his game.
Both Riley and Louis have a spark that quickly dragged me into the story I liked their cameos in the previous book and was looking forward to seeing where they end up. We have a good range of development for both and I like the communication going on between them we get a lot of open discussion which is refreshing.
The steamy smut was also welcome the pair really get into it and enjoy some fun options. I like how it feels like the world is carrying on and the previous 2 books really work into the story. Looking forward to the Christmas special as this was a solid series I really enjoyed.
I received this as an arc and I gotta say this was absolutely fantastic. I'm not a hockey romance reader, I've tried a few and they've been okay but didn't really grab me. This one though, this one was so frakking good. The characters were amazing, and had good depth for the amount of book we get adore Loius and Riley. Individually they are both really good characters but together they have this absolutely incredible chemistry that puts you in a chokehold and makes you want to know everything. I absolutely ate this book up. The plot was interesting and enjoyable and the spice was HOT! And I say that as a straight woman. Read this book, read this series, buy all the shelf trophies and versions of this.
I really enjoyed all three of The League of Extraordinarily Gay Gentlemen books. Riley and Louis really suit each other and I love how Louis was able to help Riley figure out how to gain his confidence back and Riley was able to help him find the strength to be there for his mom and sister. I loved that Louis is Nic’s best friend too. Wish we had seen them interact a bit more but we have the Christmas novella coming up - so I’ll just have to wait a bit. The New York game scene was pretty amazing. Especially after how they treated Riley before he was traded. So satisfying for this reader! Highly recommend this series!

This might be my favorite League of Extraordinarily Gay Gentlemen book yet! This is such a great series and even though they work well as a standalone I highly recommend reading in order because I love the characters so much.
Bro Code introduces us to Riley and Louis and gives us all the angst only rivals to lovers can. I love when a hockey player falls in love with a non-hockey player! This was a fun read because we get to see a new culture dynamic, analytics (which I’m a nerd for), and of course, a lots of steamy scenes.
Thank you to the author for the ARC. This is my honest review.
This was very cutesy and an easy read. With how flamboyant Louis is I kind of expected more from him. And with how fuming he was that Riley didn’t remember him, how they got together didn’t really track for me. It was a very run of the mill get together story, definitely wouldn’t call it rivals to lovers at all.
I really enjoyed this book. Riley and Louis were fire together. I was excited to read about Riley and the book didn't disappoint! In fact the only thing I did not like was the cover art of Riley. Everything else was superb. The author is getting better with every book and now I am eager for the holiday special.
Riley Webb has been off his game since he came out as gay in an NHL press conference. Unlike Nic Arsenault who’s been thrown in a positive spotlight since that conference, Riley feels unsupported. And his performance is tanking so much that he’s traded. Meanwhile, data analyst Louis Debonnes is determined to find out why Riley’s performance is so off. But it would be a lot easier to do his job if he wasn’t constantly thinking of the one night stand he had with the guy (which Riley somehow forgot about). But as Louis grows closer to a solution for Riley, the two grow closer in other ways too…
I loved this one! This one has been my favorite of this series. I loved the banter between the two. And it was nice to see the nerd/jock trope play out. The yearning between the two was amazing. And I thoroughly enjoyed the cameos of the characters from the first two books in the series. It was fun to see them from other people’s POVs.
I received this ARC from the author for free and am leaving my honest review. My thoughts are my own.
