Lisa Phillips is a USA Today and top ten Publishers Weekly bestselling author of Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense, independently published series romantic suspense, and thriller novels. She’s discovered a penchant for high-stakes stories of mayhem and disaster where you can find made-for-each-other love that always ends in happily ever after.
Lisa is a British ex-pat who grew up an hour outside of London and attended Calvary Chapel Bible College, where she met her husband. He’s from California, but nobody’s perfect. It wasn’t until her Bible College graduation that she figured out she was a writer (someone told her). Lisa is a worship leader, tea aficionado, and dog lover of two crazy Airedales.
I read these novellas as part of anthologies, but wanted to reread them before the next book came out. There were two strong people who came to realise their strength came from relying on God and surrendering to His will. They also started to see that the other filled a place in them they didn’t know needed filling. While some issues were sorted there is clearly still a lot to unravel in future instalments. Bring on the rest of the series!
Home is a fast-paced suspense story about Caleb, a DEA agent, and his neighbor Tessa. This novella involves dirty agents, family secrets, and heart-pounding suspense, along with falling for the girl/boy next door. Family follows Jay and his K9 Cass who are rescued by Morgan, a veterinarian and divorced mom raising her eight year old daughter Ava. What a fantastic romantic suspense read with plenty of action, danger, close calls, romance, and twists and turns. Family is about found family.
Home and Family is Lisa Phillips' latest introduction to an exciting new series brimming with adventure, suspense, and romance. The novel also explores Christian faith and seeking the Lord's Will through prayer. A must read!
Home and Family is a lovely mix of romance, suspense, faith, and family. I especially enjoyed how both stories balance real danger with the search for something deeper, belonging, trust, and a place to call home.
I really enjoyed hearing the backstory on some of the characters I came to love in the Lazarus Protocol. I can't wait until the next book in this series comes out!
