Socialite Loni Talbot is ready to declare her independence. Only one thing stands between her and her new employment. Working for blind, temperamental, and seriously hot sculptor Patrick Quinn seems the perfect solution. What better way to put her social connections and flair for promotion to better use? Except Patrick doesn’t seem interested in any of her ideas…not that she’s going to let that stop her.
Anna J Stewart is the USA Today bestselling author of more than fifty sweet to spicy romances. She primarily writes for Harlequin's Heartwarming (sweet romance) and Romantic Suspense (spicy romance). In addition to being a Holt Medallion winner (Bride on the Run), she’s finaled in the Daphne duMaurier Award for Excellence, the National Readers’ Choice and had one of her books optioned as a TV movie. No matter the story, Anna’s books are always about family—the ones we’re born to and the ones we create. Anna lives in Northern California where she loves going to the movies, attending fan conventions, and heading to Disneyland, her favorite place on earth. When she’s not writing, she is usually cooking, baking, binge-watching her newest TV addiction, or re-watching her all-time favorite shows, Supernatural and all things Star Trek and Star Wars She also spends a frustrating amount of time wrangling two monstrous cats named Rosie and Sherlock. Anna Stewart rocks it. Her intriguing characters are fully developed and real. The only drawback is that the story ended way too soon. Can't wait for the next one.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is my third book written by Anna J. Stewart and I can’t wait to read more of her books (especially this series). In this novella, we meet Loni and Patrick. Loni is one of those women who, while in high school, made everyone’s life miserable. There were reasons, of course, but as it is part of the story I won’t write any spoilers. I truly liked her, though, and enjoyed her growth and self-actualization (for lack of a better term). She really grew as a person and it will sometimes break your heart. Patrick is a legally blind artist – who woulda thunk. Ms. Stewart wrote his personality and talent so well that you can actually “see” and feel his work; at least I could.
I won’t say these two had too tough a road to travel however they had a lot to deal with, both personally and professionally. Watching their growth, together and individually, truly was a beautiful thing. I think I can say that reading this account of growing trust will make you smile. My one complaint to the author was that I stayed up way too late to finish this book as I could not put it down. Truly, it was a great story.

From the moment they met, you could feel the chemistry and sparks fly between Patrick Quinn and Loni Talbot. Two lonely and damaged people (although I doubt either would admit it) have found that person who challenges them and speaks to their soul. The blind sculptor and the socialite are two halves of the same coin. Can you tell I loved this book?! This is my 3rd trip to Lantano Valley and it won't be my last. I love the sprinkling of familiar characters that add to the story, not distract or overpower. This novella is a stand alone story, but do yourself a favorite and read Reading Between the Lines and Asking for Trouble, too. You won't be disappointed!
I received an ARC for an honest review. Thank you!
I recieved an advanced copy of this book for an honest review but I would still recommend this book. It is a good story about a reformed wealthy debutant who has tried to be like her snooty mother to please her parents to no avail. She decided to be different a normal person with a job. It is also about a reclusive sculpture artist who is nearly blind. How's a girl who has only had to rely on her beauty and glamorous clothes supposed to assist the artist? Can the find love? Can they build trust? Do people really change? Take a read of this story and find out.
The story of Loni and Patrick, both fighting for their independence. Loni is looking for her first job and Patrick hires her. Patrick is trying to make a go of it as a sculptor. I really enjoyed their journey of growing individually and as a couple. Learning to trust again is hard for Patrick. A well written story that will keep you turning the pages until the end. I read it in one sitting. Now I can't wait to return to Lantano Valley. I received this book form the author foe an honest review.

As Patrick's new assistant, Loni wanted to use her connections to help him achieve his goals in the art world. Patrick did not fully trust her intentions and didn't want her help, but Loni was determined to prove that she had his best interests at heart. I loved Patrick and Loni as a couple and wanted to read more of their journey. I really didn't want this book to end!
What I loved the most about this story was that two such socially awkward and inept people found the person that grounded them and opened their eyes. Such a touching story, it really touched my heart. Favorite scene was Loni showing Patrick how to see and captured his heart.
