Rate this book
Dr. Katharine Matthews' first meeting with Rafael Grant is memorable, to say the least—she mistakes him for a terrorist and attacks him in an airport terminal in Tucson, Arizona. Despite their rocky beginning, Rafe, newly assigned to Tucson as a U.S. Marshal, is determined to get to know the impulsive, beautiful science writer better, and soon he and Kate have kindled a sizzling relationship. Kate is also committed to helping her father—a renowned physicist debilitated by a stroke—continue his work on a major scientific breakthrough. But neither Kate nor Rafe realize that there is a greedy and ruthless enemy at large, and everything is at stake—including their priceless love…

Sizzlin' Desert Heat

This is my first novel by Mrs. Sims. And her main character Katherine Matthews is no weakling, she is smart, strong, self-confident and definitely able to turn on the heat! In this novel, Katherine is paired with Rafael Grant. From their very first meeting it's clear that the hero is going to have his hands full with this Kate. I enjoyed Kate and Rafe's interaction with one another, the way even during an argument or disagreement they showed such loving concern for each other. And the way he proposed...brought tears to my eyes and still had me LOL. It was full of mystery, comedy and sizzlin' romance! It was a good read.
