It seems a bit "judgmental" to rate the leader of my Catholic church on anything...a bit presumptuous that I have a right to rate him on ANYthing he writes. However, since this is a Goodreads post, I will do it anyway. First, the volume of the Encyclical I read is NOT the one shown above. Mine is called "Magnifica Humanitas: Humanity in its Grandeur" with a picture of Pope Leo holding a baby. I could not find that specific edition online to post it. I was pleased with the documentation that he used from the Social Doctrine of the church and Catholic Social Teaching using Biblical text to warrant the importance of considering the individual human being and all peoples in the use and implementation of AI. I was really glad he wrote this in such a timely manner since it is impacting so many in so many communities. The only thing I would have liked more of are specific actions that each of us can take to assure that AI will be used in a manner that considers the human person first. I am already involved locally, but would have liked to see some specifics in this encyclical. So many are not involved because they feel helpless and don't know what to do. Generalities make it difficult to take action in a person's daily life.

Libro breve ma densissimo.

A differenza di tanti altri , molto equilibrato nelle considerazioni che vengono fatte.

NON demonizza questa tecnologia ma al contempo indica chiaramente le linee guida che andrebbero sviluppate per renderla veramente al servizio dell' UOMO
