I enjoyed the storyline and think I would probably enjoy the other books in the series, but there were some obvious proofreading errors that annoyed me. I’d give it a 3.5 in a different rating system.

Valentino & Livia's story is fast paced... from their initial meeting & instant attraction (& resulting one night stand) 5 years prior...to them reconnecting when she has an interview & runs into him again...

I enjoyed their story. I like all the characters & how their story plays out.

The book is told in a dual 1st person POV.

This is Book 6 in the Chester Street Billionaires, as an interconnected standalone. I have not read all the books in the series & I did not have a hard time following along.

Ultimately not bad

The first few pages in, I almost stopped reading because the initial encounter went from zero to sixty so fast the questions were ricocheting through my brain and I had to laugh:
Who feels desire this heavy this fast? Like, less than a minute. Tops. Is she being paid? Pretending? Was this written by man with no
understanding of how women work? I stuck with it and began to enjoy the story, despite initial misgivings. There were parts that were well-written, particularly the descriptions of Nico and of Valentino and Livia's interaction with him, and their perception of him. I also enjoyed the relationship between Liv and her best friend Piper. There were typos and some continuity mistakes, but they were minor annoyances. This doesn't pretend to be good literature, but for the genre isn't bad.

"Unexpected" indeed.
I thought the plot would be pretty run-of-the-mill, just like other ONS stories.
It turns out there are a lot of emotions here: heart warming, heart wrenching, joy, sadness, disbelief, misunderstandings, friendship, and even a toxic father.
What I like is that there are many people supporting MMC, giving him a lot of positive feedback, and MMC actually listens to and considers the input from his friends.
And FMC is finally able to break free and find the courage to stand up against her toxic father.
The ending is satisfying and absolutely HEA, everyone gets what they deserve.

4 1/2 stars -This was an enjoyable contemporary billionaire romance story I'd read. Our characters are Livia De Luca with her adorable four-year old son Nico and Valentino Ferretti our billionaire. Livia attending with her father meets a stranger at a masquerade ball in Venice. They have tryst. This results in Livia having Nico. Years later Livia meets the stranger again when she bumps into him while on a job interview for Ferretti Global Risk to work in the compliance department job. She gets the job. What happens afterwards when Valentino remembers and discovers he has a son was an entertaining emotional story that captivated me. I'd volunteer to read and review this copy I'd received.

Livia & Valentino...
I really liked this story! It starts with a masquerade and a one night stand. Identities unknown... a secret child... then years later fate brings them back together. I loved loved loved little Nico! What a cutie! Every scene with him made me smile! This book had plenty of tension, drama, and steamy scenes. A lot happens... I was truly invested in seeing what happens between Livia & Valentino. Loved the character growth and how everything comes together at the end!.

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

This book is so good that it will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and absolutely falling in love with Valentino and Livia story. When Valentino and livia meet at a masquerade party and share one night with no names given will fate find them together again? Will her father try to destroy them both? I truly loved this book and the complexities of the characters J.S. wrote about. This book will give you butterflies in your stomach page after page, chapter after chapter until you finish the book.
I absolutely loved Valentino and Livia, and I know you will too. They have great character development; unexpected surprises and the romance is a chef's kiss to perfection. Grab this 5-star romance book and let the romance and swooning begin.

Got me out of a slump…

I’ve read a couple of blah books in the last few weeks and this one broke that pattern! Finally a story that felt complete and in depth enough to have solid pacing and I definitely got invested in the outcome.

To the author/publisher hit me up for proofreading. There are more than a handful of things that should have been caught. The good news is this book is solid enough for that to not impact how much I enjoyed the book.

This was an enjoyable story and the main couple were likable. There was enough character development and the story moved at a steady pace. For those who enjoy the surprise pregnancy trope, this will definitely satisfy you.

Good book

I really liked the story line and the characters were written so well you could feel the growth in each of them. I wish the author had not repeated stated why Valentino made decisions they way he did. I got it after the 1st time but it got very old after the tenth + time of having to read it.

I was fine with the characters and storyline but the parts about the security business were a tad boring. My main complaint was the lack of editing. So many missing and misspelled words which threw off the flow.
