Unsolvable: The Belfast Demon

Rate this book
In a cozy little corner of the country a demonic killer believed by many to be a soldier of the devil walked amongst the city devouring hope from the living, and souls from the lives it extinguished. It struck utter terror in the hearts of many, including seasoned officers who felt powerless against the unknown force that hid in plain sight. It all began one spring morning in Belfast, Maine, when a body was discovered at the banks of a popular fishing location. The body, which was badly mutilated, appeared to be that of a young male. Oddly, the ID of the victim was placed neatly atop his forehead. He was last seen dancing with an enchanting but unknown woman. In a span of three weeks, five additional bodies were discovered in populated areas across the city, all bludgeoned, and all with their ID’s placed perfectly atop their foreheads. With no solid leads, and the body count steadily rising, the veteran detective had no other choice but to take an unorthodox step by seeking help from those quite knowledgeable in demonology in order to save his city from someone who is quite possibly—not human.

Writing allows me to escape reality and enter an alternate one created solely by my demented mind.
I first started writing in the eighth grade when I competed in Young Authors Future Success, fulfilling my teacher's wishes.
I was inspired to write after reading Stephen King's "Misery" (the first book I ever read) shortly before competing in Young Authors. I thank my teacher, Ms. Klodell, for finding something in me that I had no idea was there.

I took a break from writing when I started learning martial arts. I resumed it a few years back while working with one of my many customers. She told me she was an author, and we had a long talk...my writing was born again.

My career is in banking (15years) and I usually spend my nights after work writing and cooking.

I have a bright seventeen-year-old son who will one day grow up to be a better writer than his old man...maybe.

Other than writing, fishing is my favorite way to leave all of life's problems and stress behind, even if it is just for a moment.

My favorite authors are: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and R.L. Stine.

I'm not one for reading detective books but this is no normal detective book. This isn't even a "normal" paranormal detective book. This book is in a league all on its own. Any time you add demons into a story it's bound to be intense.

Each and every character brought an element to the story that was needed. There wasn't a single character that I was totally invested in. Even if the character was terrible and I hated them...looking at you Tiffany. One line in the book that I had to take to heart was "You can't trust anyone." After about the fifth ', what the hell is happening' moment I caught on that this demon is messing with everyone.

This book, though intense, was very easy to read. I read over 300 pages in one day because I didn't want to stop reading it. I needed to know what was going to happen next. I wanted to finish it last night but my husband insisted on disrupting me so I decided to hold off finishing it until today when I could enjoy it.

The ending was great and ended in a way that lets you know there is more to come.
