3:33: The Devil's Hour

Previously published as 3:33 by C.B.T. Whitmore. This expanded edition includes new chapters, expanded scenes, and a deeper continuation of the original story.

Every night at 3:33, the dream returns. And this time, something in the dark is waiting for him to answer.

After seven nights of sleep paralysis, a boy learns that the grave he sees in his nightmares belongs to his beloved grandfather, Eduard. When Eduard dies at exactly 3:33 a.m., the dreams do not end—they follow the boy across the country to a funeral, an old house on Long Island, and a hidden journal written in a language he cannot read.
Inside its blue-inked pages lies a legacy of warnings, vanished people, and an ancient presence that has waited decades to be seen.

In 333: The Devil’s Hour, you’ll discover:
• A slow-burning supernatural horror tale rooted in grief, family memory, and old-world folklore
• A chilling descent into recurring nightmares, sleep paralysis, graves, fog, and the terror of 3:33 a.m.
• A mysterious Estonian inheritance carried across generations, and a word that changes everything: tunnistaja. Witness.
• A dread-filled mystery where every answer opens another door, and some doors should never be opened
• A compact, atmospheric read for fans of intimate, psychological, and supernatural horror

The boundary is thinnest at the devil’s hour.

Turn the lights on. Check the clock. Then enter the world of 333—if you dare.

I won this book in a giveaway and wow, am i so glad I did!

This short novella was creepy from the start. Honestly, I probably shouldn't have waited until after midnight to start because after finishing it, I was UNABLE to sleep until I put something cheesy on TV. It completely gripped my attention from the first sentence. The creepy atmosphere, the sleep paralysis, the fear, it spoke THROUGH the pages in a way that made me feel like what was happening could happen to me at any moment. And sleep paralysis has always been a fear of mine so that definitely shook me!

The ending was wrapped up beautifully and made me wish the story had been longer. I wasnt ready for it to end!

This book takes readers on an emotional journey, balancing genuinely chilling moments with heartfelt ones that linger long after the final page. It's clear that C.B.T. Whitmore poured a great deal of passion and care into crafting this remarkable story. The emotional payoff at the end is deeply satisfying, making the entire journey worthwhile. A truly compelling read that I would highly recommend.

3:33 The Devil's Hour

I really enjoyed this book because of the strength of the storyline. It had mystery, subtle twists and a lot of heart. I wasn't expecting it to end quite as quickly as it did but it held my interest and left me wishing for more. I'll definitely be watching for more books by this author! A 5+star rating!

This was a great novella, I didn't want to put it down. I think it would work really well as a full novel and has so much potential for the story to be built up more.

I was sad when it ended and I wanted to learn more about the main character, his family and the history of the curse that runs in his family's blood.

I found this easy to read and it made my mind think which I love when books do this, although I did also read it before I went to bed which was probably a bad idea to do as my dreams were weird, but that just shows the impact the book had on me.

I have given it 4/5 because I think it has so much more potential to build on the story.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a great, quick evening read as we head into the autumn season. I thought the pacing worked especially well for the story being told—it was concise without feeling underdeveloped and never dragged. I wish the story had leaned further into the horror elements. With such a dark title, I expected a stronger sense of unease throughout the story. Still, I really enjoyed it. The story was engaging, well-paced, and a nice palate cleanser after some of the heavier books I’ve been reading lately.

This was exceptional! The fear was gripping and I was compelled to keep reading but was almost hesitant because of the fear grabbed me and. Didn’t let go. I feared for the possibility of what was going to happen to the MC. The could easily make a great full length novel. The ending left me wanting more of the story. I won a copy as part of a Goodreads giveaway from the author and am so glad I need. This novella is easily my favorite read so far this year.

The first thing that caught my attention was definitely the 3:33. I figured that 3:33 A.M. the Devil’s Hour is a big part of this horror story… and boy was not wrong haha. We follow this poor boy who is being tormented? Tortured? By nightmares after the death of his grandfather who…. Died… at 3:33 A.M. Now why was this boy so affected? Read it for yourself and fined out. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic. I actually think it could have been longer and I would have enjoyed it more, which is usually the reverse of what I think when I read horror lately ("this could've been 50 pages shorter"). The end does kind of leave you wanting more but it is wrapped up conclusively enough for anyone worried.

I received a copy through Goodreads giveaways, And I probably never would have found this book to read otherwise. So glad that I have. Recommended.
