Rayven T. Hill was born in 1954 in Markham, Ontario. He has had a variety of occupations and careers since then, spending the last fourteen years as a computer programmer and web site designer.
His first novel, written in 1960, was an instant hit with his mother and one sibling. He then put his career as a novelist aside for half a century to concentrate on making a living, but has now ventured back into the world of writing.
His first real novel, Blood and Justice, was published as an eBook in June 2013.
Annie and Jack always has very surprising endings to their investigations. Wish they carry pepper spray at least. All the books in this series are excellent.
Rayven Hill is one of my favorite authors, and Jake and Annie Lincoln two of my favorite fictional private investigators.
When Adam Thorburn, a young man with mental and emotional problems, becomes the prime suspect in the brutal murder of a well-liked school counselor, Adam goes on the run. The counselor's husband is not satisfied with the progress the police are making in tracking down his wife's killer, so he hires Jake and Annie Lincoln. But are the Lincolns, and the police, looking for the right suspect, or is Adam just a convenient scapegoat ...?
This is a really good book, that keeps you on edge from start to finish and has a twist at the end, the characters are well thought out and Hank, Annie and Jake work well together when presented with a gruesome murder, and Adam Thorburn's troubled character is written with great insight.
Once again Mr. Hill has woven a compelling story. This time Adam Thorburn is in the sights of Jake and Annie . Adam accused by a death statement is being hunted by the police and the Lincolns. But what is the truth behind an easy to solve murder??
Annie and Jake Lincoln are private investigators hired by the husband of a victim of a brutal killer, Adam Thor(burn). But Adam is on the run, and all the king's officers are unable to locate him. Adam is smart, presumed dangerous, and has schizophrenia. And blackouts. He remembers nothing of this murder or subsequent ones due to blackouts.
This is the first Justice book I've read, and I'm not sure what to think of Annie and Jake. They are probably good at their jobs (they don't appear to be comedically inept, which is the only other way I could see a series going on this long), but mostly they seem thorough more than anything. I know about them, but I don't really know them just from reading this book. Although, Annie seems empathetic and Jake is a little more direct in his approach, which probably explains why they work well together.
Everything else, though, is very good. I truly felt sorry for Adam Thorburn, being read as a psychopath and sociopath when he doesn't even remember doing these heinous things and actually comes across as a nice guy. Yet all the evidence is stacking up against him. The flow of the story is excellent, though, and my opinion of Adam ebbed and flowed and changed. Perhaps this is not so much an investigative story as it is a manhunt to find Adam before another murder occurs.
Another quick & enjoyable read. Well written as always. I do like the main characters in these books, although Annie does seem to be the one who ends up in a life or death situation every time, surely it wouldn't hurt to have Jake be the one in a peril a bit more often! The ending came as a total surprise to me. As I'm sure the author intended, I spent the whole book under the misapprehension that as everyone already knew who the guilty party was that I was reading about the hunt to bring the killer in, only to have the whole thing turned on it's head in the last few chapters. A good read, look forward to reading another one of the series soon.

Mesmerizing storyline with an unbelievable ending.
This novel definitely gets a five star rating, the plot thickens with every page you turn the more you read the more you are mesmerized by the devious characters who have you thinking you've got it all figured out. This book has it all, just when the police think it's case closed Jake Lincoln private investigator blows a huge hole in they're case. This is a must read if you're a crime novel reader, I'm going backwards so I can see what the first seven books have to offer.
Murder mystery with mental illness as the basis of the plot. A young man is accused of killing two people, brutally. He believes he has killed four. He seems like a nice person. But, some people don't like him because of his mental illness. He goes on the run with his mothers help. Very satisfying ending.
This is book eight in the Jake + Annie Lincoln series. I have read all eight now And am getting ready to read # nine . They are all must reads. This is a great mystery series. I recommend them all.
Written with well thought out plans. Police and detective cases are never easy and take a toll on each one. The main problem is to put the criminal behind bars. Find out how working together, they track their killer down.
Good storyline, characters and mystery. Author's stories are getting to predictable. Figured out from middle of book whodunit. Only surprise was the partner. More intriguing stories. Still love it though and love the author
I have read most of the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Finding one I haven't read is like running into an old friend. I highly recommend this book, and all the others in the series!
ESilent Justice ( A Jake and Annie Lincoln Series book8)
I have read the first book of this series and and now I mistakenly got the 8th book but I went ahead and read it and it was so good . I loved it I'm going to try and get #2 and then the rest . I enjoyed it very much.
The book has a surprising and refreshing ending. I can't discuss it much, here, because it would give it away! I generally read books primarily for the plot, and this had an interesting plot twist near the end. Very good.
I think this is the third book about Annie and Jake I have read and they were all good However, I think the plot, formatting, and writing are getting so much the same this was probably my last book.
This is book eight of a series of books. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in the series but I think this was the best one so far. This book dealt with mental illness, murder and mystery. I never in a million years would have expected the ending that this story produced.
Well. Developed plot. The Lincolns are a very interesting couple and I reality like this series. Tends to be fun and entertaining, though not great literature.
Love to see what Jake and Annie get into. They love their detective jobs and still have a great home life. Exciting reading for all. Thank you Mr Hill.
Yet again this series didn't disappoint! I thought I had the authors style of writing sussed, having read quite a few in this series and tried to guess the outcome. Wrong!! Great read!
