Jacquii achieved two lifelong ambitions in 2021: completing the London Marathon — very slowly, by her own admission — and becoming a published author.
Inspired by their dogs and a shared love of storytelling, Jacquii and Paul published their first children’s book, Matilda’s Magical Tails: Tinsel’s Christmas Wish, in November 2021. The series has since grown to seven books, taking readers on magical adventures from London and Paris to New York and beyond.
Their standalone children’s book, Evie the Brave & her Sidekick Cleo, won the Golden Wizard Book Prize Award 2024 for Children’s Literature and became an Amazon Christmas Number One Hot New Release over Christmas 2023. All profits from the book are donated to Down’s Syndrome Oxford.
Their book Gemima’s Best Christmas Ever, inspired by their rescue spaniel Gemima, also supports a cause close to their hearts, with 50% of profits donated to Spaniel Aid UK.
Jacquii has now turned her love of village life, intriguing characters and a good mystery towards cosy crime with Murder on the Allotment, the first book in The Louisa Brown Mysteries.
When they’re not writing, Jacquii and Paul can often be found walking their dogs through the Oxfordshire countryside or escaping to the Austrian mountains — usually with a notebook and a new story idea never too far away.
