As Shakespeare wrote, “The course of true love never did run smooth,” and the love between Michael L. Black and Natalie Smith is no exception.

Having fallen deeply in love with one another, Michael and Natalie’s passionate and, at times, tumultuous relationship continues to teeter on the edge of happiness as they explore their deepest and sometimes darkest desires of games, bondage, and sex. Michael’s dominant tendencies thrive as Natalie craves to submit her body and mind to him, bringing her to sometimes excruciating pleasure. Love never felt so right.

But their relationship will be tested. Truths are hidden. Secrets are revealed. And when Michael’s insecurities inflame his penchant for control and punishment, all the trust and love they have worked so hard to build dismantles itself within one split second. Will they forgive and trust one another again? Or will the betrayal leave them on the edge of devastation?

R.B. O’Brien has always been drawn to the more taboo side of storytelling, even as a young adult, from hiding books from strict Catholic parents as a teen to getting lost in the erotic sections of bookstores for hours.

She is best known for her three published erotic romances, Thorne, Edge of Torment and Imogen. But she is now forging a name for herself in the New Adult Romance category as well as poetry, her true passion, Ruin My Lipstick her first of many to come.

Much of O'Brien's work explores the darker, sensual nature of relationships, those riddled with the reality of insecurities and human folly, often exposing the vulnerability, emotional turmoil, and occasional pain that can come from losing oneself in the heat of passion and the obstacles of love.

O'Brien holds a degree in English literature and teaches for a living in the Northeast, USA. She is the founding member of The Nu Romantics, a poet, a professor, a writer, a dancer, and a hopeful romantic known for her poetry prompts on social media. O’Brien also has a profound affection for Shakespeare and beyond that, writes. Every chance she gets.

Excruciatingly intense and arousing scenes of BDSM! This erotic story keeps getting hotter and more complex as Natalie and Michael's passionate relationship evolves into something darker and more intense as real-life insecurities on both their parts keep intruding on the possibility of them finding happiness together. I can't wait to see what happens next in their relationship as Michael continues to test Natalie's limits and she continues to challenge him to give her what she wants and suspects he does as well. Intense story from start to finish!

Fall continues the story of Michael and Natalie. The love Michael and Natalie have been building and Natalie's self discovery is not an easy one. Michael's secret past is slowly revealed but questions will still remain, and Natalie's penchant for keeping secrets will only hurt her. Michael's need to dominate and Natalie's desire to submit become stronger. But don't expect this one to be wrapped up neatly with a happy ending. You'll have to wait for Redemption, Book 3, out this summer for every question to be answered.

If you enjoy mild BSDM, hot sex, long scenes of teasing, and strong sexual themes and character development in your romance, Fall will deliver. Prepare to be left on the edge and maybe even crashing over it. The story of Michael and Natalie will not be without its fair share of angst and obstacles, but as Shakespeare wrote: The course of true love never did run smooth. A must read for fans of dominate, alpha males with dark pasts. Can't wait to share Redemption with you!

If you liked book 1 in this series, this book doesn't disappoint. This book has its up and downs, quite a rollercoaster ride of emotions throughout this book. The characters are more developed and you get to know them better in this installment, some which is good and some bad.
Michael and Natalie both learn to adjust to living in a new relationship and it isn't easy for them. Michael has never truly loved someone and Natalie has never explored her submissive ways with anyone. Secrets from both of them can and will ruin what they have built with each other, the trust they had gets shattered from what they have been keeping from each other.
Once I had started to read this book I didn't put it down. I am anxiously waiting for book 3 to see what happens next. At one point I was hoping Michael was the man of Natalie"s dreams, but by the time I got to the end his character is one that people love to hate. Natalie became strong but at one point her jealousy got a hold of her and it showed just how insecure she actually is. Again this book is a must have.

At the end of Book 1, Michael finally declares that he loves Natalie. You are left thinking that everything will work out for the couple. Well, the course of true love never did run smooth!!!

RB takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride throughout Book 2. This book is slower in pace compared to book 1. But it's full of emotional scenes and character development. This helps the reader understand the characters on a deeper level and connect with them. The character development also creates an understanding to the actions of Michael and Natalie. You experience Natalies emotions, as Michael pushes her limits with his darker needs. The BDSM scenes are intense and highly arousing.

However, further secrets and lies push the couple apart. Will love be able to bring them together? Will love guide them through their insecurities and their secrets? Book 3, promises to be another hot emotional read.

The first book ends with Michael's declaration of love, but don't think it's smooth sailing from there. As much as Natalie and Michael are drawn to each other, they can't seem to get past their complicated emotional issues. Love alone isn't enough.

This book starts a bit slow, but the pace picks up bit by bit as a well-intentioned mistake on Natalie's part sends things rapidly spinning out of control. We end this one with a bombshell of a cliffhanger that finally gives us a clear view of who Michael is, but will this revelation draw them even closer together or blow things apart?

As with the first book, the sex is hot and drawn out as Michael expertly teases Natalie with things she resists, yet can't stop coming back for. I'm eagerly awaiting Book 3.

Heart wrenching

This second in the series takes you deeper into the lives of Michael and Natalie and the struggles in their relationship. I don't want to give much away, so all I will say is this is romance at its finest one of the best books I have read so far this year. The writing is flawless and the characters are amazing.

I had to skim a lot to finish this. I feel like there are just too much repetitive descriptions and emotions. Yes we know Natalie's pathetic neediness of Michael, yes she cannot live without him, yada yada yada. I almost cannot stand her, but feel compelled to read on - it's almost like the compulsion to watch a train wreck.
