First of all, I would like to thank Ayelet for allowing me to read this ahead of its release and being an ARC, I feel so lucky!!

I’m also really happy about the trigger warnings that you put before the story began, it proves that you really care about your fanbase and want us to feel comfortable as possible, which I very much admire.

MY GOD. I had to pause and cry several times (you’ll be paying for my therapy, jk), again I have no idea where to begin. I’ll keep it as spoiler free as possible as you guys are gonna love it as it does NOT disappoint at all and I’m glad I finally got some answers after the cliffhanger from the first book.

The entire time I just wanted to protect the FMC with my life because my poor traumatised baby get behind me :(( so so glad about that ending though (TELL ME WE GET AN UPDATE OF AFTER THE EPILOGUE iykyk)

I genuinely thought it was a beautiful read and again couldn’t put it down, aka I read it in a few hours, I don’t read that often so that’s really saying something. I have questions to ask but will refrain until it’s been released properly. So until then I will be sat in my cozy corner, waiting patiently :))

This book was such an emotional rollercoaster 😭
I really loved seeing how much the characters grew throughout the story, and I think the author did them justice. It was honestly exactly what I was expecting from this book, but it still managed to exceed my expectations. I was really invested in the way the story was unfolding and just had to keep reading to find out more. I genuinely had such a great time with this one and didn’t want it to end🤧🥹

I’m sorry, I really can’t talk about this book without my review containing some sort of a spoiler, so, please, read at your own discretion.

The Forever Home is heartbreaking and so very beautiful. I just kept tearing up. He looked everywhere for her, she waited for him to find her.

Adam is at the top of my book boyfriends list. There isn’t a single thing this man wouldn’t do for Eve. He’s been looking for her, thinking of her, writing to her. All he did while they were apart was clinging to the memory of her. He tirelessly worked on keeping his sanity while his search for her continued. I don’t think I’ve ever read a love story like this and I’m so fascinated, like, no other book boyfriend compares. The dedication with which he searches for her, the way he supports her when he finds her, how he’s there for her while she’s suffering from PTSD, how he helps her slowly recover. The way he knows she’s fragile, the way he has his whole world back in his hands and still continues to be selfless so he could support her at her worst and help her return to her best. I can’t, I’ll never get over this.

And Eve, oh, my Shayla, it was tragically sad to read her chapters. She suffered so much and for so long, battling the slowly fading hope of him finding her, of him still loving her, caring about her. The things she went through would break anyone, doesn’t matter how strong, and her story broke my heart. Her slow journey of adapting to being free, being with Adam and healing was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking.

I’ll forever be grateful to the Author for allowing me the opportunity to experience this. The world of literature is so vast and there is a chance I would’ve otherwise stumbled upon this story someday, but I feel like this series gave me something I didn’t even know I was missing.

Apparently all it took to get me out of a reading slump was this duet because I genuinely could not put this book down until I knew what happened to these characters!
It was heart wrenching, beautiful and full of suspense, and I loved how everything came together in the end - pretty much every part of the story got an explanation and I was left with no questions or plot holes.

(This review is way shorter than my other one because this book had me SPEECHLESS. It was so so good in every way possible.)

I don’t even know where to begin with this review…

When I started this book, I knew it was going to be way different—which is why I didn’t think I'd like it as much as I did the first book.

Oh boy, I was proved wrong so quickly.

This book was so much darker and heavier than the first one; it was so GOODDD (to be fair, I knew that from the start, but I still didn’t fully register the extent of it). If you are easily triggered, read the trigger warnings because this book truly contains so many dark themes (which I absolutely devoured).

It’s so hard to work on the review because of how deeply I feel for the characters and their story.

Especially for my girl Eve😢. I said in the review of the first book, too—I relate to her on so many different levels, and I truly understand so many of her thoughts, doubts, and fears, so every time I read about another thing that happened to her, I was crying.

Everything she goes through in this book is so truly heartbreaking. I remember DYING to get to her point of view and understand more about what was happening. Especially after how the previous book ended.

And then I did…

Long story short, nobody is ready for that.

I remember reading everything and physically feeling sick to my stomach—even now when I look back, I feel like I’m going to throw up.

There were so many things in this book that nearly broke me—so many things that just made me cry or tear up because of how much I loved the two characters and how much I wanted them to be okay.

I’m going to be so honest: the beginning of the book feels like an entire lifetime away. Maybe it was because I finished the book in two sittings rather than my usual one, but I felt like so much happened and I loved every moment of it.

Did I suffer? Yes. Did I sob uncontrollably for an hour after finishing the book? Yes. Did it become one of my no.1 series of all time? You bet your ass it did.

I am so deeply and disgustingly obsessed with Eve’s and Adam’s story that I don’t even know how to explain a fraction of what I feel towards them.

Adam’s worry, his actions, his care made me cry countless times and has me tearing up writing this review. Everything he did for Eve was so gentle, so genuine and soft.

The mental recovery both he and Eve go through is honestly so beautiful and so well written imo. It’s the type of recovery and events I don’t see very often in books, and it upsets me that I don’t because the hurt/comfort in books is one of the most beautiful things a person can add, and in here, with it being such a great part of the book, it’s just so perfect.

Of course, I enjoyed the great depression—but there were also happy and silly things I loved and missed🤗

I love every one of Ayelet’s books, and while this duet is my absolute favourite, I have a very close second—Third Time’s a Charm and I am so fucking happy we get to see Izzy (MY FAV GIRL!!!) in this book. She was honestly a breath of fresh air in the great depression (also Zizzy in general.)💗💗💗

The ending was so beautiful, too. The way it ended had me crying for—I kid you not— an HOUR. A whole HOUR of sobbing over the most beautiful ending I have ever fucking read.

I received this ARC from the author again, and I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to read it. After finishing the first book, I NEEDED the second part of this duet. That cliffhanger had me with so many questions, and I immediately signed up to receive this ARC because I was dying to know what the hell happened.

Once again, I read this book within a day because I was desperate for answers. After the first book, I had SO many questions. Why were they seemingly the only ones left? What happened to the rest of the world? WHAT was actually going on?!

Unfortunately, the beginning of this book was where I started to struggle. The first few chapters felt EXTREMELY long, and honestly, some of it felt unnecessary. After the massive cliffhanger in the first book, I was literally dying to get answers, so I found myself racing through those chapters waiting for the story to get to what happened next. Personally, I think those opening chapters could have been shortened—or even cut in half—without losing anything important.

Then we finally get to the climax and…

WTF IS GOING ON?! 😭

When the truth finally started to come out, my jaw genuinely hit the floor. The explanation behind what happened was clever, unexpected, and honestly something I personally haven’t read before. I was SO invested at that point because I felt like the author could take the story in so many different directions.

And then…

DRUM ROLL PLEASE… 🥁

It was basically over in only a few chapters.

This was probably my biggest disappointment with the book. The story had such a huge build-up and such an interesting concept, but once we finally got the answers I had been waiting for, everything felt rushed. It felt like, “This is what happened! Ta-da!” and then we were suddenly moving toward the HEA.

I genuinely feel like there was SO much more that could have been explored. This is a dystopian story with such an interesting premise, and I personally wanted more from the middle and the ending. The concept had the potential to go in so many directions, especially after such a crazy reveal, but it unfortunately felt like the story didn’t fully explore everything it had set up.

By the end, I found myself losing interest and mostly just wanting to finish the book, which honestly made me sad because I was REALLY looking forward to this sequel after enjoying the first one and being so invested in its ending.

The characters themselves were still enjoyable, and the writing was good. My disappointment was really with the pacing and how quickly everything wrapped up after such a massive build-up. I also found myself confused by a few details and mentions that seemed like they could potentially lead somewhere but were never fully explored.

Overall, I don’t regret reading this duet, and I will absolutely remember the reveal because it genuinely surprised me. I just wish the story had spent more time exploring the consequences and possibilities of that reveal instead of rushing toward the ending.

This had the potential to be SO much more for me, which is why I think I ended up feeling more disappointed than I expected.

Well thank you Ayelet Eden for letting me read the arc.
I cried a little, it was so intense! After the first book I had no idea what whe second book will be like.. I mean a had some ideas but still was surprised. All in all I am happy about the outcome. I would love to see other explanations or versions of what the fuck happend, but these are just the ideas that I had in my head.
I am happy for Eve and Adam. All though… the sentence „it has been 6 years“ killed me. I did not suspect it at all.. poor eve. I often thought, what if they switched places? But I think it should have been this way. Adam finding his own family.. but still I ask myself? Would Adam survive more or the same way as eve did?
Anyway. I had a fantastic time reading it and the author will definitely stay on my fav list and I will read her other books

This was a great second part to the duology, and induced so many more emotions! We got to see a lot more of the characters’ individuality as they navigate and work through their experiences to try and achieve a sense of normalcy together. Out of all the possibilities this was not what I expected and it was a great surprise/plot twist!!!

Overall the pacing was great, especially at the beginning, but to me the closing sections felt slightly rushed and I would’ve loved a deeper exploration into both Adam and Eve’s views of their journeys and all that had happened, however these were acknowledged really well throughout the entirety of the book so it’s not as though anything was missing!

Another really entertaining read from Ayelet Eden, thank you again and to Book Sirens for the opportunity to read this ARC!

First of all I want to thank the author once again for sending me an ARC copy of this book.I really loved this book a lot.It was definitely very different from the first book in the duet but I still loved it.Adam the way this man loves Eve is just put of this world!There was not even a single day he went without thinking about her while they were separated and Eve,my girl,the ampunt lf pure trauma she went through is literally insane!My poor little sweet Eve I was hurting for her so much!
I'm beyond happy that in the end they both got their happily ever after after all the shit they both experienced!Ohh I love them so much!

First off, thank you for selecting me to be one of your ARC readers for your series.

While I didn’t overly vibe with the first book, I found this one to be much better. Read it in a night, easily. It was nice to get some answers, however I found their reasoning about everything toward the end of the story to be rather frustrating.

Again, I found that the FMC was a little too emotional. I understand that terrible things happened, but she just seems to cry non stop. Again, I wish she had a little more agency and self reliance in order to truly be a badass FMC.

The MMC was much more tolerable and more like a real person in this one. So that was nice to see.

I still found the romance later on to be a little interchangeable with other romance books.

I have been absolutely obsessed with the first book since I read it and I was so incredibly excited to start this one. Since the first one was left on a cliff hanger I had no trouble getting sucked back into the story!

This book had the perfect balance of heartbreak and wholesome. I’ve never read a book that has left me so happy/sad after finishing it. I hate that the duet is finished but it was ended perfectly. There were no gaps in the story, no questions unanswered, it was all pulled together beautiful.

This will be a book duet that I will read over and over again without a doubt!! 🤍

Book 1 was more my cup of tea, but that is in no way a slight to book 2! I enjoyed the reveals and the found family vibes, was hard to know who to trust which was fun!

Just wish we got more of them like that! Would’ve loved some more knowledge/hints to the big bad but that’s just me.

There hasn’t been a book in a long time that I truly couldn’t predict, but The Forever Home completely surprised me—in the best way possible. It was beautifully unpredictable, emotional, and so incredibly well written. I felt all the emotions while reading this story, and I loved how everything came together in ways I never saw coming.

This book takes on much darker themes compared to book one, so please be mindful of spoilers! Eve and Adam’s story continues through longing, yearning and town tearing searching. Plot twist after plot twist, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, not knowing which direction the plot was going to go.

This duet will be one that stays on my mind for sure

After the ending of Book 1 I had to immediately start the next book because that cliffhanger was insane!

The plot twist in the beginning of this book?? Hello?? I did not see that coming AT ALL! It really had me reading the first half in one sitting because I was so shocked about the reveal and also what was happening to the characters!!! The author did a really good job at building up that excitement.

Unfortunately though the entire plot of the second book felt too rushed for me after the first half, so it wasn’t as enjoyable as I wanted it to be. I felt like many questions were left unanswered and the characters just moved on with everything in the span of a few seconds. I would’ve loved to see more in depth emotions and conversations.

I really liked how in this book we got to see how deep the love between Eve and Adam truly is. They are soulmates!!! 🥹
