This is Lawson and Ava's story. Ava's a human whose father was framed for a horrible event. Lawson is the alpha of the wolves in New Orleans. There're vampires as well. Let's just say the vampires are very obtuse considering all the people moving about their lair unbeknownst to them. Makes one wonder how they ended up getting anything done. This story reminds me of the earlier Delta James stories. The beginning was a bit rough but quickly moved to a better flow. Ava never stopped being sassy, strong, and determined. Lawson was still domineering but it was tempered. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love shifter stories and this was an excellent read. The storyline was well throughout and the writing hooked me at the very beginning and lasted to the end. I love the strong main characters Ava and Lawson and together they are a force to be reckoned with. The heat between them goes from 🔥to🔥🔥🔥in seconds. I also found Toboe to be very appealing. The action is fast paced and plays a big part in the story. It’s a wonderful story that is worth reading.

There was quite a bit of description that I found unnecessary and repetitive at that. There were a couple scenes I didn't care for and skimmed over, and I didn't feel like I missed anything. Chapters 10 and 11 were the climax and the conclusion of the book. Not spaced out very well and made it all seem anticlimactic overall. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Outstanding

I absolutely loved all the non-stop action scenes in every chapter. Lawson, the Alpha King and Ava his mate became a force to be reckon with while facing the Vampires. The storyline was strong and very well developed. As always, Sara Fields shines with her writings. Highly recommend!

This is just as naughty and dark as Ms Fields ever writes. A Strong alpha male and very strong mate, together vanquish their enemies. But first, the alpha male leader must subdue and conquer his sassy mate. Very good writing with a strong HEA ending
