Mending a broken heart is never easy. That was something Keira Johnson knew better than most people. After ending a long term relationship with a self-absorbed masochist, Keira throws herself into her work as full time editor for Legacy, a publishing company representing the paranormal world. To top that off, it was time for the annual alumni mixer which Keira has made it a point to skip each year, but her boss, Paranormal Romance author, Claudia Woods decides she would like Keira to attend with a hearty donation on her behalf. While Keira has a good working relationship with her boss, denying her requests isn’t something she is in the habit of doing. So Keira travels to her alma mater, with the ghosts of her past to keep her company as she relives the life she thought she had left behind. Keira never imagined that Daniel might be there. The very sight of his face brings up memories that she had thought were long buried. Would her school girl crush turn into more than a fantasy?
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
I loved the premise of this story. Girl who loved a guy in college and got her heart broken meets up and rekindles a love match. Now of course there will be drama and someone will try to ruin the reconnection but still it’s a sweet story. What I loved about this story are the paranormal aspects that we get. I love love love me some paranormal!! The paranormal stuff is just kinda random…but in a great funny way.
This book is about Keira. She is forced by her vampire boss to attend a reunion to give money to her college. Well she is literally hiding in a plant when Daniel finds her. He is thrilled she FINALLY came. He has been waiting and hoping to find her again. Daniel puts the hard core press on our girl and her guard slips a little bit. We get introduced to Jessica and really don’t like her at all and then we really hate her.
When our couple start to feel some love, Jessica comes and causes our girl Kiera to doubt everything they have. However, Daniel is not take no for an answer. He will make Kiera understand the stuff that Jessica admitted and he will not leave until he has the one woman he really loves.
My favorite scene is when Daniel and Kiera are arguing and she has to call hotel security because 2 werewolf shifters are outside her door…or when she is sitting at the bar and Tyler the vampire comes to hit on her. Super funny stuff.
This is my first time reading this author and I'll definitely check out her past, current, and future work. I love the premise of this book. Keira's job was the coolest thing in my opinion...she works for a vampire, Claudia, as an editor for a paranormal publishing company. Her boss, Claudia, is a hoot. I like her and she obviously cares about Keira. The banter between Keira and Claudia is fun and we can see that they're also friends. Keira is going back to her alma mater to present a donation check from Claudia. Keira doesn't want to go because she had her heartbroken there and doesn't want to revisit that. Completely understandable. Of course, Keira runs into Daniel, the man who unknowingly broke her heart. Daniel realized way too late that he had feelings for Keira and made some stupid mistakes while they were in college. However, he couldn't find her after she graduated and never got the chance to find out why she left the way she did. (Honestly, I didn't understand that part. Keira even mentions in the book that she's on her company's website. Wouldn't Google have recognized her name with a search?) Onto Daniel, I liked him, even though I wanted to throttle him a little. In college he made mistakes, he was young and stupid and messed up. We've all done things we wished we hadn't. So he fixes those mistakes, but then basically repeats them with the same person a few years later. I wanted to feel bad for him because of everything that person (the manipulative witch Jessica) put him through, but I honestly couldn't because he did it to himself. I do like that he finally saw through her facade and realized her true personality. Unfortunately, Keira got hurt again in the process. I'm happy to say he was persistent in trying to fix things with Keira, groveled, and showed her that he really does love her and knows he was an idiot. There were a couple things in here that I could have done without, just personal preferences, but they didn't detract at all from my enjoyment of the story and were actually important key parts in Daniel's personal growth and emotional epiphany of what/who he really wanted. Now with that being said, I did like the book and would easily recommend it to my friends.

This was the first book that I’ve read by Elissa Daye, and I’m so glad I got a chance to read it! This story gave two people who secretly loved the other a second chance to a happily ever after. Though things won’t be easy for them.
Keira and Daniel were really great friends in college. They both spent a lot of time together, though some of it was awkward since Daniel was dating her roommate. Keira had always been in love with Daniel, but was always too afraid to show it since she didn’t feel she stood a chance next to her drop dead gorgeous roommate. When she’s pushed to go to her Alumni mixer by her brother and her boss, she never imaged what would happen next.
Daniel has always had a secret desire to be with Keira. She’s everything that reminds him of home and it helps that she’s beautiful. He never knew about Keira’s feelings so he let the little guy downstairs to the thinking and he started to date her roommate off and on. That’s one mistake he’ll regret for years.
When these two finally give in to the connection between them, they pages catch on fire. But their happiness only lasts for so long. What happens when Daniel’s past comes knocking on their hotel door? How will Keira ever be able to forgive someone who lied about something so important?
Though I really enjoyed their story, Keira did irritate me towards the end. I just wanted to slap her so hard and tell her to get her head out of her ass. Things could have been settled a lot sooner if she didn’t keep acting like a little kid. With saying that, it was nice to see her come alive though when she was with Daniel. And Daniel. YUM! I could use my own Daniel ;) If you’re looking for a quick read that’ll keep you entertained from start to finish, this is definitely a book for you!
Keira Johnson has just ended a long relationship with her boyfriend after finding our that he had been cheating. She decides to concentrate on her job as an editor for Legacy Publishing which publishes books for paranormal authors.
But when she receives an invitation to her college reunion it takes her boss, Claudia Woods (who is a vampire), to convince her to go. Keira was a bit overweight and had a crush on Daniel who eventually married her roommate when broke her heart. When Daniel finds her at the alumni event, she gives into her feelings and spend the rest of the event with each other. However, Daniel is in the middle of a divorce and when she shows up, Keira returns home with a broken heart more determined than ever to not trust a man again.
Claudia sends her on a tropical island escape for a weekend to recruit a new author for Legacy. Keira has a unique ability to smell out other paranormal beings and soon finds out there are other paranormal publishers trying to recruit Virginia as well. However, what she doesn't know is the Claudia has also sent Daniel to the tropical paradise because she knows that Keira really loves him. Daniel does convince Keira that their love is a forever one and that he will do anything to prove this to her. So Keira not only has a new beginning with Daniel but she convinces Virginia to sign with Legacy as well.
If it hadn't been mentioned, I wouldn't have known this was a paranormal book because the whole of the story focused on reuniting Daniel and Keira, so this made the book a pleasant surprise to read. Well done Elissa Daye on what I know will be a great new series.

This is my first read by Daye and from what I read I will most certainly read more. Even with this being a quickie read. I felt fulfilled by what I read. I got a complete story. There is more here than just the relationship between the two (H/h). There is a relationship between Kiera and her boss, Claudia, that makes you smile and understand friendship and sisterly love.
In short terms and not to give away the entire story, Keira and Daniel have a second chance to make their relationship work after it failed while they were college students. There is a reason behind a lot of the madness in the book. With that said you know there has to be one person that is conveying and wanting them to be apart. That is the sad part that neither Daniel or Keira had the brains to figure things out sooner.
I found Claudia a complete join to behold and look forward to the next book in this series, ‘Little Red: Press Legacy Bk2’.
Keira Johnson was a editor for Legacy Publishing. She worked for Claudia Woods who was a famous paranormal author and also a vampire. Keira always believed in a fantasy world and she fit easily into Claudia's life. Claudia convinced her to go to her college reunion. Keira didn't want to go because she was still having problems due to a bad breakup which broke her heart and spirit. She went to the week long reunion and almost as soon as she walked in she saw her college crush, who broke her heart. she wanted to run. Daniel came over to talk to her and was interrupted by Jessica his college girlfriend. she always came between Keira and Daniel. He finally caught up to her the next day and they played into their attraction for each other. Everything was great till Jessica showed up with some shocking news for Keira. This story does contain sex scenes so it isn't for everyone. the story is well written and interesting I just wanted more to the ending it left me wanting more.
Do you ever forget that long lost love and what might have been? Keira has not had much luck in love. She just ended a bad relationship and her boss is making her go back to the university where she is likely to run into another man she cared and it ended badly.
The idea of a real paranormals writing paranormal romances is a great idea for this series. Keira works for Claudia (a vampire publisher and author) and her boss wants her to get involved again and have some fun. When Keira sees Daniel, those feelings are still there and Daniel is eager to see her again. It doesn't go as smoothly as they wanted.
The story moves fast and I liked Keira and Claudia a lot. They have some fun interactions. Daniel seems a little weak until he really takes a stand later in the story.
You need to read this book and the next one too!!! So good and so different! Love it! Keira is an editor for Legacy Publishing which oddly is owned by a Vampire because they mostly publish paranormal books. Keira recently split with a long time boyfriend and her boss knows this and makes it impossible for her to refuse to NOT go to her alumni event. Of course by going to her alumni event there is a HIGH chance she will run into her college crush, Daniel. There is not a lot I can tell you without giving the story away BUT I will say IT IS VERY GOOD and it leads it has some very hot moments and some really funny times with Claudia the boss who happens to be a Vampire. You will want to grab book 2 Little Red right away as soon as you finish Crushed to keep going cause it gets even better. I received a copy for a honest review.
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review* This was a fun book! It was a romance with slight paranormal lines in it. I enjoyed it the mix of the two genres. Keira was stubborn, even though most things were a misunderstanding. I loved how hard Daniel tried to work at getting Keira back. This was a good story. The only complaint I have is the build up of the other publishers, and then it was just over. I thought after all the build up, it would have been great to have more about them. It just seemed done with them all too fast. In all, this is a wonderful sexy romance. I loved seeing these two get together! Claudia is pushy yet protective and a wonderful side character. This is a great start to a wonderful romance series.
Keira Johnson is an editor for Legacy Publishing. Her boss Claudia Woods is a vampire that is making her go to college alumni week and not taking no for an answer. Keira has too many painful memories that are crushing her spirit and joy. For Keira meeting up with Daniel Richards again is really difficult. Daniel knows that seeing Keira again is his one chance at love love for a lifetime. When Daniel crushes Keira's heart its more than she can bear. Will Keira get over being crushed again? Can Daniel prove his love for Keira? More importantly will Keira believe him? Find out in Crushed:Pressed Legacy.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were flawed, honest, raw, real, and compelling. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Well what a story! This is the first book I have read of Elissa's and I can safely say I will be reading more of her stories.
Well the basic overview of this story is: Keira is an editor working for a vampire author who is forced to go to her school reunion. Where she re-connects with her college crush and first love Daniel.
Keira runs off to an island that no human is aware of due to having her heart broken by her first love all over again. On the island she is forced to allow her emotions to open up. Thankfully she has Daniel to come to the island to help and guide her to a happy ending for the both of them.
Keira worked as an editor to a publishing company for paranormal authors - Vampires - Werewolves - Minotaurs - Mermaids - you name it they were there. But what she was really doing was hiding from her broken heart. Her most recent Alec had hurt her but the one who hurt her the most was her college crush Daniel and now it was alumni week at her college and who does she run into but Daniel. This is definitely a must read to find out if Keira and Daniel can get back together. Definitely would recommend this to everyone as a must read.
This is a first I have read from author, Elissa Daye and have to say I love her new take on fairy tales. Claudia Woods is one mysterious woman in this book and boy have to applaud Keira for keeping up with this author. Elissa Daye was funny in this book and definitely brought in some interesting characters making me wonder if there will be more from them. Cannot wait for Book 2 and more about this publishing house where things go bump in the night making us want more of these creatures.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review. Keira job is editor at Legacy Publishing. She works for Claudia Woods who is a vampire. Keira never go to the annual alumni mixer but Claudia decides she would like Keira to attend on behalf. Keira run into Daniel the man who broke her heart. Daniel try to talk to her but Jessica get in the way. Will Daniel be able to fix thing and get Keira back?
Surprisingly good book that actually had a great plot, with engaging characters, well written conversation, and that wasn't sexually overdone. I'm glad that the author gave some time and thought in giving her readers a story with some depth rather then following the trend these days of writing about sex and more sex followed by the characters then thinking about nothing but having even more sex. Well done Ms. Daye .
Wow. I loved this book. Read it in one day. Definitely a must read! Keira is a broken woman working as an editor. Claudia, her boss, and Terry, her brother, get her to go to her alumni function. She refuses to go at first but gives in. Add she is there age runs into her old friend and her crush that got away. This book will make your heart melt. Loved it!
Another great romance from Elissa Daye . The stories of Keira and Daniel has you rooting for them both from page one. Paranormal references and romance in a masterful written book. :)
Again the author has outdone herself. The book was very well written and had my attention from the start. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the legacy press series.
