got hooked because of the cliche romance of it all <3 i’m so happy i found the manhwa first and got impatient enough to read the novel lol
1. i love the passion for tennis the author expressed through hunter. i support all the love for sports.
2. i love the mother and daughter dynamics that jiyu and her mom had. their scenes made me cry as i reflected on my own relationship with my mom.
3. jt was sooo funny when the first introductions happened: hamilton and lafayette families lol i literally just bought tickets to see hamilton on theatre
4. even tho hunter’s and jiyu’s relationship started messy and volatile, i loved the tenderness and rawness of their interactions. i loved how hunter was great at everything except when it came to his emotions, and he worked hard to get it all under control. in someway, he’s a meathead who can’t converse well. thank god olivia is also a meathead who had to learn how to converse better. they’re freaking made for each other. hunter’s parents were right, if not olivia, who else can handle hunter? i also appreciate how hunter was also someone who olivia needed, her blue-eyed monster lol
5. the obsession hunter had for olivia was suffocating during the beginning tho. and olivia going with it pissed me off too. just ffffcking talk to each other. but i guess we wont have much story material if they both resolved their relationship from the beginning.
6. i dont like how this book represents the ugly side of skinny korean culture tho. really? olivia is super skinny and pale af? and her bf is super buff athletic build man like hunter? i can’t stand size kinks like this. proportion differences can be realistic without having the fmc be half the size of the mmc.
