K.M. Scott's first book in the Sons of Navarus, Blood Avenged is not your mother's vampire romance!!! These vamps are not romantic or sweet they are total predators who care only about sex, blood and vengeance!! Vasilije is a very old vampire and cares about nothing but the hunt!! He has lived mostly by him self except for the occasional time spent with the vampires that he has made.long ago he was in love with his creator, but she was murdered by her own sister tatiana who wanted him for her own. When vasilije meets sasa not only does he start feeling more for her then just some new prey,he gets the chance with sasa's help to get his revenge for the lover he lost long ago!!!! I love the whole erotic vibe to this new spin on vampire romance!!! Can't wait to read the other books in this series!! In the epilogue we get a look at the men who make up the 8 the Sons of navarus, and their very interesting!!!

Okay so I will just say that this as a bundle set, was a disappointing read. The first book was awesome. Which I rated at 4 stars. But books 2 and 2.5, were huge disappointments for me. Just the plot, the way things were executed in book 2 just did not flow well. And the MC's left much to be desired for me. It was like the author lost wind and direction, with how the flow of story and where things were headed, should go.

The Novella was just wrong for many reasons. Considering how book 1 ended, the Novella (2.5) would be a huge slap in the face to some for many reasons. Maybe if things flowed a bit more organically, I could have gotten behind what appears to be unfolding in the Novella, but because of how everything was presented, I couldn't get behind that.

Therefore, although I loved the first book in this series, and would recommend that one, I can't say I would recommend any books after that one. I seriously doubt I will be moving on to book 3.

If you're still curious, tread carefully here.

Happy Reading :)

Love and War

I give this book a 31/2 star. It is a little different from what I've read before. K.M. has written these stories of love and war. She blended it good. I will read the others to see how it plays out.

Sons of Navarus Box set book 1 is awesome! It is written by Gabrielle Bisset who is a pen name for K.m. Scott. This book contains the books Blood Avenged, Blood Betrayed, and Longing a short story.

All of these books are awesome, and they are well written and the plot to each of these books are full of twists and turns. There are well developed characters that capture your interest from the beginning of each of these stories. The emotional and sexual angst leaps from the pages and keeps you reading long after you should have gone to bed!

Book 1 introduces us to one of the Sons of Navarus, a vampire named Vasilije. He is very old but looks young, he is dark and handsome and has no problem finding women to share their time with him. He has sired many many vampires, and has a lust for women that is never ending.

After a situation develops between he and a female vampire, Tatiana who he has had problems with in the past, she seeks revenge on him by staking one of his vampires. Vasilije travels to New Orleans when he finds out that one of his favorite vampires is staked. Little does he know that Tatiana is the one who staked him, and she is planning to kill him too. She plans on turning him into the Archons a powerful group of vampires that mete out justice to vampires for wrongdoing.

Into this mess walks a beautiful young empath named Sasa, a human, heartbroken that her mother, her only living relative is dying a slow painful death. She has been going to the voodoo priestess to buy help from the woman to help her mom and it works for a while but now she is forced to work for the voodoo woman so that she will continue to receive aid for her mom. Tatiana sees her at the voodoo priestess store, and forces her to start helping her by having her spy on Vasilije .

When Vasilije sees her he is instantly fascinated by Sasa, and she is just as fascinated. He has no idea she is being forced to spy on her. Sasa falls in love with him. She is scared what will happen when he finds out.

I can't say anything else but you need to read this book to see what happens with all of them!

Book 2 Blood Betrayed, starts off right where book 1 ended; we find that Teagan, who was Vasilije's vampire that got staked at the beginning Blood Avenged, has a brother named Declan, aka Saint, who also is a Son of Navarus, and he hates Vasilije for what happened to his brother. There are a lot of flashbacks in this book that shows the history of these characters and provides us with the history of these Sons that brings up to present time.

This book introduces us to all of the sons of Navarus briefly but mostly concentrates on Declan, his brother Teagan and his relationship with him and introduces us to Solenne, a beautiful woman who was sired by Teagan and controlled by him even though he treated her badly. This left the door open for Declan and Solenne to spend a lot of time together when Teagan would leave Solenne alone from days to weeks at a time. They fall in love and you will have to see how Teagan manipulates Solenne to give up the only man she has ever loved- Declan. Although they haven't seen each other, when Declan's life is in jeopardy, she opens her home to him.

The third volume in this boxed set is called Longing and is about the feelings that a vampire named Thane(who is also a son) who falls helplessly in love with Sasa, Vasilije's woman, and it bothers him so much how horribly
Vasilije treats her. He wants to have her as his own, but he knows as long as Vasilije is in the picture he won't stand a chance. To To Sasa, Thane is a dear friend, the only true friend she has at the monastery. He'll take her friendship with the secret desire that one night she'll want much more. This book should be read after book two and before book 3.

Take a chance and read this boxed set you will love it as much as I have I am sure, and they are awesome well written books.

I gave this boxed set 5***** stars and can't wait to read the next ones. I received this boxed set as an ARC to give an honest review and liked it so much I bought it so I can keep it forever!

Good 4 the Most Point.

Book 1 - Vasilije & Sasa's story starts in New Orleans when Vasilije goes there to discover who has killed one of his vampires. Sasa got caught up in a plot to kill Vasilije when she went to a voodoo witch in order to make her mother's life somewhat pain free. Tatiana, a vampire from Vasilije's past was hired by the Archon's (vampires who are supposed to keep the peace & control punishments & are the bad guys in this series) to kill him meets Sasa through the voodoo witch (Sasa in order to pay for what she asked the witch for does jobs for her to pay her back). Sasa was to get Vasilije's trust so that eventually Tatiana could kill him but winds up falling for him instead. Vasilije did start to trust her until he found out who Sasa had been hanging out with (Tatiana) & thinks that she has betrayed him & eventually he does forgive her. Later in the book he fakes his death & then calls her to his side so that they can be with each other; she comes because she still loves him & because he promises her that he won't leave her again.

Book 1.5 (the short story) is about Thane who has feelings for Sasa especially since he feels that Vasilije is just using her & that he doesn't love her the way she should be loved. As Vasilije had left her after a fight to go get 2 female vampires that he sired.

Book 2 - Declan/Saint & Solenne's story was a little on the boring side & didn't get really interesting until the last 3 chapters. Declan & Solenne have a past & that is what most of this story goes on about in between what Solenne is doing to help the Sons of Navarus to protect Declan & give Vasilije info about what the local Archon is doing & saying about their plans to kill all the Sons. Eventually Declan & Solenne resolve their issues & get married & marked as mates.

All in all these stories were ok/good; but I most likely won't be reading anything more in this series.

Vampires sired from ancient Greek gods! Really a great angle for this series by K.M. Scott. I've read the entire series now, waiting for the next edition. Ancient characters like Kali, Ramiel and Vasilije are cleverly created to have witnessed and participated in history, each designed with characteristics we can love or love to hate. Great loves like Deland and Selene that have stood the test of decades. the I think the refreshing aspect of the books are Scott's use of Greek mythology. I love the historical connection to the plot as well as the mental traveling to environs mentioned. Scott as tour guide gives just enough flavor of the setting to draw readers into the action. I just love how vampire can just teleport anywhere in the world; I really need that gift! I also like how Scott adds special gifts to the evolving generations of vampire. Paranormal is my thing so Scott has a fan. Later in the series we get several colorful characters like witches, dragon shifters and werewolves. Of course some characters are more delightful than others. Steamy scenes also provide enjoyment, but we are talking vampire right? The series is a good read for me. -G

Meh

This variation on the vampire story is a man's dream. Women, human and vampire, exist to feed them and f**k them. And, of course, the women just loooove it. Blech. In the first book, Sasa is an idiot. She hates when people force her into something, yet has a vampire turn her mother without getting Mom's consent first. Arrogant. Presumptuous. Vasilje is even more arrogant and presumptuous, though strangely tolerant of Sasa's disobedience. In the second book, Saint goes on and on with the self-loathing that's not explained until the book's better than half over. We think he'll find his peace with a human woman whom he fancies, but he just uses her a couple of times before deciding to stick with Sollene, who's about as spineless as a jellyfish. But it's OK to treat human women as disposable, because they're 1) women and 2) human. Nevermind that the vampires were all once human and wouldn't exist without humanity. Ugh.

This collection gets a full star due to mostly clean copy. Otherwise, this would be a 2-star review.

If you think women are more than compliant receptacles for male appetites, then you'll want to pass on these books.

Aside from that, the

Dispassionate vamps, sex and blood...

OKAY...this box set has two full books and a novella. The first book Blood Avenged focuses on Vasilije, (yeah, I couldn't pronounce it either!), a vampire over 400yrs old and a human female empath, Sasa. . He basically upsets an ancient female vamp by turning her plaything into one of their kind, she exacts revenge by staking another he's sired, she then turns the ailing empaths mother in exchange for spying on said male vamp while other factions are also force in wanting him dead. To be honest it was a long, tiresome read with no passion whatsoever just loads of sex and blood drinking. New vamps can be made too easily with no thought or consequence.
The second book Blood Betrayal sort of carries on from book 1 but focuses on another vamp, meaningless sex and blood sucking. Only got a few chapters in and couldn't read any more. Very disappointing overall. Jumpy timelines and unlikable characters. Not good but found it free.

Vampire porn at its best

These two first books in this series are the absolute best! My brother teases me about reading vampire porn and there are just enough sexy scenes in these 2 stories to make you blush just a little. Vasilije and Sasa's story kept me on edge the entire time, then Declan and Solenne is absolutely riveting. Just enough racy scenes combined with serious scenes to make the stories the absolute best.

My review of Sons of Navarus Box Set 1

The Sons of Navarus are composed of eight vampires that protect the prophecy and all vampires. The Archon are the equivalent of the police and help govern the vampire world. The Archons despise the Sons and have set out to destroy all eight and their sires. Step into K. M. Scott's world of thrilling plots, twists, mysterious well-written books. Blood Avenged features Vasijie and Blood Betrayed features Saint's story.

Let's sum it up

I don't usually do reviews, and I never do bad ones. But I just needed to stick a big reader beware sign on this set. The heroes are assholes. Like--sleep with other women while living in the leading lady's house-- kind of assholes. If that's your thing, then read this series. If the thought of reading sex scenes between the hero and other women leaves you green at the gills, don't read these books.
