Wrath loves writing about those kinks and fetishes.

I learn something new every time.

In this nasty little story, we meet weird ass Paul.

Paul is into hematolagnia— but that’s too clinical for his tastes.

A lust for blood is more like it.

This novelette consists of diary entries detailing his fetishes and how they’ve formed, his murderous rampages, and his obsession with committing his crimes in the comfort of a bath tub.

Bath tubs mean a lot more to Paul than you may think.

Mommy issues, ya know?

It’s always the mommy issues.

Blood Bath was a very straight-forward, diabolical look inside the mind of a deranged killer— in typical Wrath James White fashion. I wasn’t the biggest fan of this one, but it was short and pretty entertaining.

Blood Bath (2026) by Wrath James White is an entertaining extreme horror novella from the wickedly decadent mind of the Premier Author of Hardcore Horror . The storyline is unfolded in epistolary style through the dated entries in the diary of an unhinged serial murderer. Paul's stream of consciousness rants and revelations when put to paper are relentlessly over the top. There are few taboo topics which Wrath leaves unscathed in this uncensored peak into the mind of a madman. I liked it quite a bit, especially Paul's passion to be politically correct when he is simultaneously committing sodomy on a murdered corpse for example. White's wild and wicked gallows humor is alive throughout the course of the diary entries. WJW is one of my favorite authors and his consummate skill appears throughout all his works from poetry, short story collections, novels, and certainly novellas such as Blood Bath (pun intended).

A very brief "Bloody" good read.
Don't be fooled into thinking that taking a bath with someone is exciting sexy and erotic!
You might not like their idea of what they use for bath oil!
And you certainly won't live to tell the tale...

WJW doesn't disappoint here, with graphic scenes and nasty moments...that will chill you to the bones and make your blood run cold.

I'll be taking a shower from now on....ALONE!!!!!!

Wrath's newest piece of work is a piece of work in the best way possible. The story is told through a series of journal entries written by our main character which give us all the details of their thoughts and feelings, and firsthand descriptions of the heinous acts they commit. Everything is such a flurry of sick, twisted behavior and the accompanying thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Anyway, our guy has serious mommy issues and consequently conflicting views of women in general. His mental state is confusing and exhausting. He also has a rather problematic fetish he can't seem to sate in blood. He really loves blood. And baths.

Blood Bath is not a long read, but it is dizzying and uncomfortable. It is disgusting and chaotic. I loved every second of it and felt the need to bathe after myself

I love WJWs work, truly I do and when I got this in my email some time ago I was pretty excited. I ended up getting pretty busy as well so when I opened this up and started reading...first page didn't get me then the second page came and I was intrigued, but I don't really remember myself thinking outside of the story after that. Another vortex opened by wrath into the mind of a deplorable. I loved it and chances are I'll love it again. What a fantastic way to utilize diary entries to seamlessly tell a vivid story of a serial killer's entire life. This is a class on how to write shorter stories while keeping the impact as high as humanly possible. Masterful work and a bloody good time.

I really enjoyed this shorty from Wrath James White. If you like characters such as Ed Gein and some of the tropes in Motel Styx then you’ll really enjoy this one. It’s short, sharp, bloody and unhinged all in one neat little package!

And that's what I get for reading this man's diary... or rather, journal, because as Paul says, "men don't keep diaries." 💀

Paul is a man who loves collecting bath buddies, and honestly, that's all I'm going to say about that. LOL.

Anyway, this was a short, 50-page, very interesting read. But please, check your trigger warnings. There are literally 30 of them listed at the beginning. If you have an aversion to blood or any of those content warnings, this is absolutely not the book for you. Aside from the gore, it actually did make me chuckle a few times.

This was my formal introduction to Splatterpunk/Extreme Horror and it was... um... interesting... yeah, okay. I learned this isn't the type of horror designed to leave you scared and frightened. Instead, it’s meant to leave you shocked and disgusted (insert gag), whereas traditional horror relies heavily on suspense and the unknown.

This story is told in the POV of a serial killer that enjoys bathing in blood…

I LOVED it!! The diary style unhinged aspect of it & the offhand descriptions of what he had done that day had me scoffing🤣 it was so flippant like describing how you’d been shopping and picked up some eggs, but in this case it was a woman’s breasts 😅

It got so much more unhinged as the months went on, I genuinely couldn’t get enough of it!

I’ve said it so many times but Wrath’s writing style is such a huge comfort for me. He’s one of my fav authors, I’m always left feeling satisfied by the end of his books whilst equally sad that I’ve finished them!

Nasty piece of work! Blood Bath follows Paul, a man with hematolagnia (blood fetish), who enjoys taking a nice warm bath.

This was such a fun, quick read. I really enjoyed the diary style chapters and White’s writing style. Paul was such a character and the ending was so fitting. I wish it was a little longer!

ARC review: This novelette was brutal, bloody, disgusting, and everything one might expect from the imagination of Wrath James White.

The story is told in diary format and chronicles the madness and obsession a man named Paul. Paul is obsessed with blood. Unfortunately, his victims have no idea that he intends to bathe in theirs.

I will not share any spoilers but perhaps the most troubling part of the story for me was the dedication. 😂😂😂

This book had me giggling and gagging. This is my third book by Wrath James White and I can say without a doubt, he does not disappoint. Absolutely loved Paul and it was such a quick read because I was reading it while up and moving at work. Not sure how I managed that, but I’m impressed lol. I’m going to be recommending this book to my friends who love to read as well.

This story is told through chaotic and disturbing diary entries from the main character - a guy who has a fetish for bathing in the blood of the deceased. It was what you would expect from WJW - disgusting, depraved, and gruesome. It's a great short read, I flew through it!

This was an absolutely wild 50 some odd pages! This is written as journal entries and that just adds to the creepiness.

Paul decided to start keeping a journal where he keeps track of his day to day comings and goings. Paul kind of keeps to himself and has Mommy issues but boy does he love a warm bath, he just hates bathing alone.

I randomly saw a post about this book yesterday and just went for it. Being so short I read it in one sitting. This was uncomfortable, gross, and bloody. What a ride! Overall, a quick read for those who enjoy bloody horror and a soothing bath.
