Unique and VERY dark.

Well, that was . . . different. There are a lot of extremely dark elements in this, from murder and torture to extreme pain and humiliation. I knew that going in - that’s not the cause of my rating.

The lack of editing really pulled me out of the story a LOT, from a serious lack of commas, to using “taught” instead of “taut,” to multiple tense switches.

Also, I’m not really buying the power dynamic and instant switches between the main characters. It’s a unique outlook, though, so even though it didn’t ring true to me, I’ve got to give the author props for creativity and a unexpected twist to the story.

If you want a quick, dark read, this fits the bill.

I'm going for 3.5 for Depravity. I really loved the concept... serial killer... total control over his pet... rough kink... all-out 'don't touch my pet or I'll kill you' attitude, but maybe more so the... how the killer instantly switches, showing how the pet controls the Master just as much as the Master controls his pet. And I do love that side to someone who goes balls-out to prove that a lover is owned. And *winces* the Master certainly gives a vicious twist at the end to prove just that!

My one wish would be that the pace had been slowed just a little and the story expanded to take time over leisurely exploring the... darker side to the Master's pet and his craving for what the Master does. There is just so much more scope here to make this a kickass story. It could have done with a decent copyedit, which also added to the fast-pace feel, but I'm not one to be distracted by the technicals if the story gripped enough. This one did.

Talk about a Switch!

I love how the "Master" will do anything for his "Pet"...even kill for him? It's obsessive love but a rather pure love.

This book has Hot sex and is really quite fast paced. I would have loved to have it longer and see more development of characters. Given that, I still think we get a good look at each character and what brought them to where they are now.

Gets a bit bloody but overall a great read! Excited to read the next one.

Wow, this one threw me for a bit of a loop. This twisted little tale starts off with Master/Slave that seems to be a bit non/con, but we quickly find that isn’t the case.

This is being told in the voice of the Slave, so that helps to really get his perspective on what’s happening and his real feelings about things. Even though the actions and behavior of the Master seem pretty awful, the Slave ensures us that he actually loves everything his Master does. So, you think that’s pretty much what the story is about, until wham! there is a total twist that actually had my head spinning in an attempt at understanding what was really taking place. The feeling of mental unstableness which had been looming in the back of my mind just skyrocketed. But this isn’t even the half of it. No, there is another twist that left me cringing.

I won’t give it away, but once again, the Slave tells us a story about how he came to learn about Master’s other “kink.” Let me say that it takes quite a bit to make me squeamish, but I almost didn’t make it through this part. It is pretty gory and things are more than a little effed up.

Enough about the content. Ms. Ferguson’s first debut story packs quite the punch in very few pages. The writing is smooth and the images almost too clear. It felt as though I was watching the scenes play out, as opposed to reading them. If you love horror or kink, or kinky horror, this is a fabulous example. I am almost too afraid to see where this is going to go next, but even though I might need to read with my eyes covered at some points, like a fender bender on the highway, I doubt I’ll be able to pass it by without looking.

Punishment by M.J. Ferguson is not for everyone. Hell, it might not be for many. Days later I still find myself wondering HOW I read it. It’s sick, twisted – and yet, wicked!

You need to have no feeling toward these characters. Trust me! Attachment causes empathy. Who really wants to empathize with two men who are seriously f-d up? And this detachment becomes absolutely necessary in the ending – think Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs only more sexually deviant.

This was great. This is a new author for me, I read a previous short story, apparently non-published, and I loved it and start looking for her books. I was pleasantly surprise when I realized this one had the same characters I loved from the story I read.

It is a BDSM story, but there are some extreme situations that are far from the consensual aspect of a D/s relationship. I liked the scene they shared, but it was what comes next what really intrigued me and got my attention. Definitely some morally questionable conducts, but since I already knew what I was getting into, it was great.

I would recommend to anyone interested in this short story, to read the warnings. I really liked it, but I’m into really dark book, so beware before reading.

I had no idea what I was walking into when I picked this book up!! I was surprised by the amount of brutality mixed with hotness that I found packed into the pages of this short book. This book is definitely not for the faint at heart!!

This is definitely a dark read!! It is also very sexy if you are into m/m erotica. If you are a fan of these genres then I promise that you will not be disappointed by this story of a pet and his Sir!!

This is the first book by MJ Ferguson that I have read, but I am definitely curious and plan on reading more!!!

Depravity: Book One Punishment

Holy f*ck!
If you enjoy erotica and horror (and I do) this book is for you.
It takes both genres, mixes them up and adds a f*ckload of BDSM to the final product. With a side of the Master of Horror, as in 'monsters are real; they live inside us and sometimes, they win'

And even though BDSM doesn't always work for me, in this twisted as f*ck mix of deep pleasure, pain and obsessive love... it does.
And I can't wait to see what happens next!

First BDSM book in a long time that i had to put down as it crossed the safe sane and consensual sex line way too far. I enjoyed most of the book. It was dark S&M but the MCs were into it so i had no problem. My opinion took a nose dive when the serial killer brutally slices up and sexually tortures his victim before gutting him and it turns on his lover. The description should give a warning.

I'm not usually a fan of 'dark' stories like this and despite feeling guilty about it, I did enjoy this. I have no issue with the two MC's and their kinky, switch relationship but It feels wrong to have liked what went on in the basement. In saying that, I kept reading and fully intend to read the next book.

Wow, as much as I hope there aren't people like these two out in the world, my common sense tells me that there are. This is definitely dark and disturbing. Not my normal read. Not sure I liked it, more like being drawn in despite my better judgement. That alone makes it well written.
