The Cartographer's Bones - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
Youssef, a refugee and former cartographer is embroiled in an artefact- trafficking plot, when he becomes the only one able to interpret the hidden information carved into the eponymous bones.
Now a humble taxi driver he believes his friends when they encourage him to analyse the strange code...but whom can he really trust? Helped by his assistant Defne, the message within the bones reveals a greater treasure than anyone could imagine - a secret that puts both their lives in danger.
Nick Thacker has a deft and certain touch in building the suspense, as each action-filled chapter boosts your engagement with Youssef and Defne, willing them to succeed in their mission...and survive against the odds somehow.
I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting adventure, that gripped me firmly by the imagination throughout, and hope to read more about the pair in the future.

What extreme measure would you go to save an item that dates back thousands of years?
Well written book with a theme that keeps you turning pages. Vertebrae inscribed with an obscure language was left in a cab. The man driving was a cartographer, deciding to decipher them, he found himself being hunted. What could he do if caught?
Read the book, well worth your time.

I shall never look at a piece of antiquity the same.
I've held them in my hand, wrapped them in cloth, placed in small plastic bags. They will never be the thing itself again - all because of this book. So exquisitely written, it satisfies wanderlust, the goosebumps of adventure, the curiosity of knowing just one more fact.

And so it gets better.
After a good start in book one another great story but different. Another different setting another relic to make you think what will be next can't wait to start Pale Ink but must finish the book l am reading now or can I read two at once? Now down to reading one of them life is so difficult.

Fascinating concept
There's no question that Nick Thacker is an excellent storyteller. The Cartographer's Bones is further proof; a tale of history, of finding one's truth, and doing what one believes is the right thing to do. I'm looking forward to reading this new series and seeing how each book fits as a whole.

Looking into a man's life
This is a wonderful book. This is the second book in the series The Atlas Conspiracy Cycle. Read them all in order, in my opinion, although each is a stand alone book. They show courage.

Excellent story
Or as one reviewer said Nick is an excellent story teller. And I agree. I recommend this book since it was an enjoyable read. Fast paced, interesting characters and an interesting plot.

A Book Hard To Put Down

Intense suspense
A great archaelogical mystery! The suspense just keeps building and building in intensity. There is no way you can stop reading! What great fun!!

This book is very interesting with a very differ3ent slant of the story line. You grow quite fond of the lead character and his side kick. A thinker's game and solution.
