I have nothing. I’ve lost everything. The man I loved stole it from me. The woman I was days ago no longer exists. What I believed to be true love is dead and buried. I’m leaving. Abandoning every reminder of the life I once had. I won’t need anything but shorts and flip-flops where I’m going. Alone.
Faith Owens ran away from life two years ago, losing herself in easy living on a small private island. Preferring carefree days as a bartender to the stressful haunting of her past, Faith chooses a life of isolation. A night like every other, she expects tips but she finds the one thing she isn't looking for—Kyle.
Kyle Sommerton walks through life alone, a traveling soldier protecting others. Physically exhausted from the pitfalls of his career, he seeks a night of solace on a small private island off of the Florida Keys. A night of solitude at a beach bar, he expects a beer but he finds the one thing he isn't looking for—Faith.
What happens when rules are broken and two hearts collide for one night?
Only Tonight is a companion novella to the Midnight Series, but it may be read as a stand alone story. Note: it is an erotic romance, due to strong language and sexual content this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
Writer, wife, mother, and gummy bear lover. As a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance, Elizabeth Miller brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.
“She has the face of an angel and my world stands still.”
“…I’m lost wondering what it would feel like if we really delved into each other: Santa’s coming to town anticipation, Fourth of July firework explosions, or a combination of both.”
“That you’re the first woman I think I’ll lose my mind to. I want to drown in you, so the morning will never come.”
“This man. As crazy as the hair on his head, he’s given me more hope in one night than I’ve felt in years.”
My Review:
Faith has been in hiding from her past for two years. Kyle is a workaholic on a forced vacation. Strangers meet… Sparks fly. It was just going to be one night together to get it out of their system, then erotic explosions occurred that left me breathless. Elizabeth Miller has mad skills – she brings the emotion that draws the heat to a combustible level. Wowza, I’m plan to follow her around and read every word she puts down.
Holy Hotness!!!! Only Tonight is one smoking hot novella! I have LOVED Elizabeth Miller's writing and this took it up a notch.
Only Tonight is a spin off from her Midnight Sky series. Kyle our hero in Only Tonight is a side character from that series. But THIS BOOK CAN MUST DEFINITELY be read as a standalone. The other characters from the series aren't included in this book.
Kyle is taking a break from his grueling day job. He sees Faith across the beach and has to have her. Needs to have her even if it is only one night.
Faith has run away from her life and is hiding out in a beach resort area. She is happy to be by herself and not let anyone in behind her walls. But one night she can do, maybe.
Oh boy, the sexual tension. The sexual release was off the charts. I need more of them and I need it ASAP!
I highly recommend this book for a nice hot steamy sexy summer read!!!
I’m just going to jump right in here with my review. ONLY TONIGHT started off strong, but the best word I can use to describe how I felt by the end would be ‘confused’. I won’t go into detail, but most of that confusion relates to the scam Faith’s fiancé, James, was running, and how she was left to deal with it on her own. I’m not sure if the author was going for a suspense feel to it, or if it’s just written in a way that confused only me. Not having a clear picture of exactly what happened and when frustrates me. And what exactly is Kyle’s job? He’s in protection of some sort with the government, but I don’t think his actual job was ever revealed. Is Kyle a character from another series by this author? Is this a spin-off? I just don’t know.
Sadly, ONLY TONIGHT was not what I expected it to be. I know the title suggests they’ll only have a single night, but it’s a romance novel, so I assumed their love would conquer all and they’d end up together. Spoiler Alert, that’s not the case, In fact, there’s not really a HEA when you get to the end. Their relationship is left hanging, so I’m not sure if this is a standalone or if it’s the start to a new series. Again, I just don’t know.
But I thought the chemistry between Faith and Kyle was hot and their dialogue was really well written, fun to read and quite amusing at times.
Kyle: “I said naked and wet. After a thorough inspection, I’ve verified naked, but I’ll need to complete a full systems check before proceeding.” Faith: “Take your time. Quality assurance is important for customer satisfaction.”
Only Tonight is the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
This is a super quick novella about Faith and Kyle; it does pack quite a lot into a really short story!!
To be honest we don’t really learn that much about either of the characters. We get a bit of insight into Faith and learn that she has been through a bad experience and is basically hiding, I kind of liked her.
Kyle is some kind of mystery ‘agent’ for the government he’s a sweet talker (and a dirty talker lol)
This book is basically a prelude to the sex scene and a hot sex scene!!?
If you want something to get you in the mood (wink, wink), or just a quick story when you don’t have time to get your teeth into a full length novel then this is perfect for you.
Personally this felt like the start to a series but I have no idea if that’s the author’s intention or if this is just a sexy little nugget of a novella.
I would definitely read a continuation of this story so hint hint Elizabeth Miller lol
Only tonight get 3.5 I hope it’s the start of a series stars.
Only Tonight by Elizabeth Miller has me hooked from page one. A quick, hot read, that didn't leave anything out.
Faith has escaped from a life that had turned her life upside down, living a life where no one knew her, she was content with where she was, that until the handsome Kyle turns up at the bar and pursues her for one not night of pleasure. But what happens after that one night of hot pleasure???
I loved this book, a quick, hot read, that left it open for a whole world of Faith and Kyle. hope to see more of them.
This book was OK but a little confusing - it's like it started in the middle of a book and there's not really a story. A lot of things was left unanswered and then it just ends.
I won a paperback copy of this book from a giveaway in Bourbon, Bikes and Books Post.
So basically all sex and some sweet words from him. I read the McKenna chronicles trilogy and then decided I needed to read this one just to see how Kyle and Faith met. And now I know. Next time I read this series, tell be in sequence, as this one come after book 2.
This book was great. I liked the story and the characters. The only thing it lacked is I never got emotionally involved with he characters. I love this cover
Great little read from Elizabeth here. The author takes you on a journey of one long slow seduction, that’s the best way I can describe it. We find Faith hiding out in a tiki bar for two years to try to escape from her former life. And a restless Kyle passing through for work. Sparks fly and Kyle feels the need to pursue the ever unreachable faith. Wary and untrusting, Faith dismisses Kyle at first but as he wheedles his way under her skin the pair play a sexy game of cat and mouse which culminates in some pretty hot between the sheets scenes. There’s a little more going on with this story than just that though. Both opening themselves up to the possibilities of each other. Yet they are convincing themselves it’s one night.
I really liked both characters; honestly there wasn’t anything to sway me otherwise. They aren’t really messy, but I guess if this had a bit more plot development it could have turned into a really absorbing read if the author had delved into Faith’s past and made an issue of it. For me this fell short of the 5 stars read mark. Yes I liked the way it ended but it felt so unresolved and I’m not even sure if Elizabeth has any plans to continue Kyle and faith’s journey. I’d like to see that, I’d definitely read it. So for a quick getaway read to maybe lift you out of a funk or relax in the garden I’d recommend this!
Only Tonight is a fast-paced, incredibly sexy short story that will fascinate you like no other short story!
You will drool over just 77 pages and it’s worth it!!
I’d like to note that it’s an Erotic Romance, so you’ll see plenty of sexy scenes!! In fact, I thought it was a Romance and I found it with too many sexy scenes, but it’s not just a Romance. It’s Erotic and it matters!!
Another point is that since it’s so short, we shouldn’t expect to see very well- and deeply-developed characters. But in my opinion, I did see fully developed characters!! I understood them, empathized with them and I completely fell for them!!
And thank the author that we will have a sequel, because I couldn’t bear it otherwise! I crave to read more about our characters! They are so addictive and their story is so damn deliciously attractive!!
It’s an extraordinary short story and I literally cannot wait for the second part to come, because Oh...my...God…
Everything about it is just so swoon-worthy!!
From Mickey and Derrick, to their explosive chemistry and their intriguing pasts!
I don’t wanna give any spoilers, so all I can say is ‘Hurry up and grab it!!’
Only Tonight receives 5 Amazing Stars, because it is an absolutely outstanding short novel that will keep us in our toes until we see the end!!
I received a copy of this book from Goodreads First-reads. This in no way influenced my review. Faith Owens was emotionally crippled by her now ex-fiancé. She thought she knew James but he deceived her and everyone else. He collapsed her world and then took the selfish way out and killed himself.
Now Faith has relocated to a small private island where she is a bartender. Her heart is locked up tight and the key has been thrown away. She never intends to love again. She couldn't take the hurt.
Kyle Sommerton is there on a much needed short vacation. There is something about Faith that draws him in and won't let go. He has never felt like this before about a woman he doesn't even know. He observes her for two days before he approaches. He tells her that she fascinates him and all he wants is one night with her. No strings. No emotional attachment. He would be leaving the island soon anyway.
I cannot say anymore. This was a short and very hot novella. One if you like Elizabeth Miller's writings you will most assuredly enjoy.
This was a quick and amazing read. I loved the characters faith and Kyle.
Faith moved to an island off Florida 2 years before after her life came crashing down around her. Her fiancé took everything and left her with a big scandal and nothing else. Kyle is on some down time from his job and as soon as he sees faith she's all he sees. The banter between them is witty and just down right funny to read. Faith tries to not let him get under her skin but even she can't deny the attraction or hold out for very long.
Is it possible to fall in love in one night? Or to miss someone after only spending s few hours with them? After reading this book my answer would be yes. I hope we get more of Kyle and faith in the future would love to see if they ever reconnect and what life brings them.
You know there are some books that you read and you're saying to yourself noway this can really happen. But let me tell this is not that kinda book. I enjoyed the playfulness between Faith and Kyle it was a build up sorta like a foreplay. And this author did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. It's a short story but you feel as though it's longer. The connection between them is undeniable I love stories that just melt your heart but also have a hotness factor without it seeming dirty or cheesy. I really hope this story continues because it leaves you happy but needing more. Thank you to the author for allowing me to review for an honest review. Faith and Kyle meet each other when he goes on vacation and sees her working behind the bar. Faith has done a lot to distance herself from her past and has lived and worked on the remote island for 2 years. Kyle did some investigating so he knows who Faith really is and has no problem with it. Faith is still coming to grips with the damage done by Kyle's lying, cheating, stealing and leaving her holding the bag. They both feel instant attraction and Kyle finally gets Faith to agree to act upon it. It was a short story and did keep me reading so that I could find out what happens. I guess we shall see in the next installment where it goes from here. Nicely done and I was not upset with the ending at all.
Only Tonight is a short, sexy read about Faith, a woman who moved to a small Florida island to escape torment from her old life, and Kyle, a guy worn down from his demanding career. She's been comfortable living her new life, uninterested in seeking love or anything that could lead to it, and he was only looking to relax for a few days of vacation. But when he sees her, all of that changes. Their connection is steamy and unstoppable. Because it's a novella, I was left wanting a little more, about his and her pasts, but that is something that usually happens with shorter reads. Overall, it was a hot read and written beautifully!
This was a quick short read about Faith who's life was thrown into a tailspin when her ex does things that the never suspected. She moves to a island where no one knows her so she can keep away from the scandal. When Kyle shows up and wants to make her his she fights him tooth and nail. Because she has this set of rules that she goes by. When they touch they both feel sparks between them. Will Faith give in and give Kyle his one night and in the end will he get her to give him her forever. This was a touching read written to keep you interested.
This was an amazing quick read, you are caught from the first page.
Faith has left her world behind and has closed the world off for the last 2 yrs keeping out anything and anyone who can make revoke the feelings gnat she's tried to shut out. But unknown to her Kyle shows up and is not willing to let her go. He wants Only Tonight & no more and Faith thinks she will be able to handle that.
Only sometimes when feelings get involved can it really last one night ????
Really hope we see more from Faith & Kyle after this read the door is defo open for more.

I loved this book, a quick, hot read, that left it open for a whole world of Faith and Kyle. hope to see more of them.
I received this for an honest review.. I have to say that this book is hot and sexy and my only complaint is that it is pretty short and wished it was longer and had more of the background and more story.. Sorry im the reviewer that wishes for more..
This story was such a good and sexy short... I hope that in the future we might get to see more of these characters maybe their own book.
this was a short, cute and quick read. I really liked Faith and Kyle together. Their witty back and forth banter was fun to read. I'm curious if this story will continue.....it was short of left open at the end.
I just could not get interested in this book. It was very difficult for me to follow. It was almost like I was reading a random section out of a book. -NightWolf Book Blog
