I never miss.

Not with a blade.
Not in front of a crowd.
And never with a woman.

Not until Sloane.

She joins my act with a death wish dressed up as talent, catching knives with her bare hands like she has nothing left to lose.

I should keep my distance.
Instead, I become obsessed with every defiant look that dares me to throw harder.

Night after night, she places her life in my hands. Somewhere between the flashing steel and the roar of the crowd, danger becomes trust.
Then trust becomes hunger.

But the closer I get, the more I realize the darkness inside her already knows mine.

And once our pasts collide, neither of us is walking away.

Knife Thrower is a dark, obsessive rivals-to-lovers carnival romance featuring a reckless, lethal flirt, a knife catcher with a death wish, danger as foreplay, and violent chemistry balanced on the edge of a blade.

I can always count on Arden Hart for a good time.

TBH, I was conflicted and seriously thought of skipping this one cuz I didn't like Cole from the other books. Dude was a sleazy manwhore and I just ain't about that BUT so glad I didn't cuz it was my fave of the series. Solid with a good mix of plot x smut x character substance.

The utter devastation that is the prologue and the FMC's life along with the way she's connected to the Sanctum of Ash really drew me in. For a novella, this was well paced and I really felt the emotions and conflict of the FMC's plight. This girl literally had nothing but rage and fury after life dealt her one shitty hand after another. However, she's a fighter. Also appreciated she wasn't celibate although it's the classic "never had good sex til the MMC". The way she navigated through her grief felt believable and real. Glad she started opening up to the gang to start her healing journey.

Cole Cole Cole - sigh. I went in with some bias when it came to his first chapter and of course, he was up to his tricks flirting and trying to hit on her after the audition. At least he's self aware and knew he's a sleaze-ball LOL. Luckily, he didn't come on strong and read the room where she was concerned though. He genuinely did care and acted like a gentleman despite his motives. His sexual past was mentioned very briefly and it wasn't explicit or in your face. I really wasn't expecting his character to have depth but he actually had the most depth besides Rowe and his trauma. His past abuse wasn't detailed, just mentioned he was part of the abuse at SOA. I surprisingly like him so much I actually felt ok overlooking his manwhore past when it usually bugs me and I steer clear/DNF.

Their connection to the villain and SOA was smartly linked and the revenge was great! This girl is deadly and I loved it. Villain got his comeuppance.

Being an AH book, it was smutty but not over the top. Expect exhibitionism and voyeurism.

I think the magic I find with this series (and I normally don't commit to series) and this author's books in general is that I don't feel rushed/antsy and I'm actually enjoying each page while savoring the story as it unfolds. It's truly a relaxing experience where I don't feel the need to skip pages or roll my eyes that much.

Bonus - the book covers for Seven Sins are absolute 🔥

Safety - non virgins, reformed manwhore, no OWD/OMD, no cheating, no sharing, no on page sex with OP, CSA, grief - death of child.

First of all — I love Arden and her brain. 🖤 This series is something truly special and I already cannot wait for whatever she writes next. She has been an auto-read author for me since the very beginning of her journey and she never once lets me down.

This time we follow Cole, the knife thrower, and Sloane, a knife catcher. 🔪 Yes, you read that right. The concept alone is breathtaking — dangerous and intimate in equal measure — and I loved Sloane for her fierce, unshakeable spirit from the very first page.

But the price she paid for that fierceness? Puhh. 😮‍💨 That was hard to read. Really hard. The kind of hard that sits with you long after you put the book down.

And Cole — beneath that cocky, unruffled exterior — is an absolute softy when it comes to Sloane. 🥺 Who would have thought? He gives her all the power. And when I say all — I genuinely mean every last bit of it. This one gets wonderfully, gloriously kinky. 😈🔥

Go read this if you love broken characters who find their strength in each other and use it to chase down the revenge they deserve, a dangerous dynamic that somehow becomes the safest place either of them has ever known, and a slow unraveling of walls that will leave you completely undone. 🔪🖤

Of course I was going to jump into the next one in the Seven Sins Carnival 😈

This one is Cole’s, the knife thrower, whom we’ve met in the previous books. He’s always the one who comes back with a quick retort 🤭 We are introduced to Sloane, a woman whose past has been hard, to say the least. She auditions to work with Cole and that’s the beginning of their story.

As with the other books we get the camaraderie of them all which is great, we see a different side to Cole with how he handles Sloane and that makes this one easier to read given her backstory. I liked the connection they had not just physical, emotional but the past and loved how they allowed her to take revenge 🤌 Love how their ‘family’ is building all the time whilst also seeking retribution for the Sanctum of Ash. Arden is keeping us entertained with this series in such a good way. Can’t wait for Logan’s story.

I really loved Sloane’s healing journey and Cole’s surrender of control, which helped her heal sooner and see that good things still exist in the world. After being abused and losing her abuser’s daughter—who lived for only a short time before dying in a car accident—Sloane is adrift in the world until she meets Cole, the circus knife thrower. Soon, things change, and she no longer feels in danger or like she needs to flee. From there, it's just a bumpy step to 'I love you.' The only thing missing for me was a child for them in the epilogue, but the ending still worked well. I am looking forward to the next installment about Logan! This series is absolutely great!

He sees the death wish beneath her talent and decides to make her want to live.

Sloane doesn’t flinch when knives fly toward her, crowds hold their breath, or Cole watches her like he’s already decided she matters. Catching steel is easy. Letting someone close enough to hurt her is the real danger.

Cole is reckless, obsessive, and used to getting what he wants, but Sloane’s walls force him to slow down and pay attention. Instead of taking control, he gives it to her, and fascination turns into trust, hunger, and an intimacy neither of them can keep casual.

Their chemistry feeds on risk, performance, and the charged intimacy of placing one life in another person’s hands. When Sloane finally exposes the grief and trauma beneath her fearlessness, Cole doesn’t try to fix or soften her. He meets her darkness with his own and gives her room to choose what comes next.

As desire, revenge, and found family pull her deeper into his world, Sloane starts facing the truth she’s avoided for years: surviving isn’t the same as living. Loving Cole gives her something else to lose, but it also gives her a future she finally wants badly enough to risk.

Sloane moves from treating attachment and desire as threats to letting herself want pleasure, love, and a future. Cole grows from a shameless flirt into a deeply attentive partner who understands that restraint can be as intimate as surrender. Together, they turn dangerous fascination into fierce devotion built on trust, choice, and vulnerability. Their intimacy becomes the place where both of them test what trust can hold, even when desire turns sharp enough to scare them.

An ultra-steamy dark carnival romance with rivals to lovers tension, obsessive attraction, knife play, found family, revenge, and shifting control. It’s about grief, survival, rage, intimacy, and learning that trust can feel just as dangerous as a blade, especially when loving someone means finally choosing to live.

The Elevator Pitch: A grief-hardened knife catcher joins forces with a reckless showman who becomes fascinated by the one woman who never flinches. Their act turns danger into trust, and trust into an intimacy built on control, surrender, and the thrill of being fully seen. As buried darkness begins to surface, their connection forces both of them to decide whether survival is enough when something more is finally within reach.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

After Animal Tamer, I didn’t think anyone could compete with Rowe….then Cole showed up with his wicked humour, ridiculous charm, and completely unhinged devotion. Now I can’t choose between them!

Sloane’s story broke my heart. After everything she’s endured, she’s convinced that loving someone only gives the universe another person to take away. But then she finds the Seven Sins Carnival: a chaotic, slightly psychotic found family who give her a place to heal, laugh, trust, and love again.

And Cole? I’m obsessed. He’s sarcastic, possessive, hilarious, and just the right amount of insane, but what I loved most was how much he respected Sloane. He gave her space to heal, supported her choices, and never treated her like she was fragile.
But don’t let all that sweetness fool you. This is still a man who looks at his woman committing murder and thinks he’s never been more in love.

Their relationship is the perfect mix of tenderness, obsession, mutual respect, and two slightly murderous souls whose demons fit together beautifully.

But the found family truly stole my heart. They’re dangerous, traumatised, fiercely loyal, hilarious, and always ready to help dispose of an enemy!!

And that ending?! Knowing she finally feels like she can breathe again after everything she’s been through? 🤍🤍

Emotional Read

Sloane has dealt with more trauma than one should have to face in her young life. When she comes to the carnival she is determined to keep to herself, but thats not how the Seven Sins family works. Cole is determined to break down her walls. What happens though when they realize they have more in common than they could ever imagine?
It was nice to finally read Cole's story. We get to see a completely different side of him. I did feel that the story focused a lot on Sloane though. The characters were well developed. The side characters were also well written. I appreciated the continued storylines from the previous books. The banter is top notch and the spice doesn't disappoint. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This series just keeps getting more amazing. Every time I think the last book is gonna be my favorite, the next one comes out lol. (Tho I do think Rowe and Wren are my top tier still, lol). But Sloane and Cole are incredible together too. I love how this book , this just took it to another level. Spice, healing, vengeance. And updates on our carnival couples from the previous books, which I adore. (Did you ever wanna hear Cole's goat story....you finally do!!)This one def has some themes that will be very triggering to certain people, so if you have some hard stops with 🩸and loss of a child, be mindful. I think they're handled with the appropriate care and not just thrown out, so it may be healing for people too.

Well, Arden has done it again and had me in my FEELS and I wasn’t ready from the prologue — not one bit prepared for the emotional damage! I was GUTTED getting Sloane’s backstory, and pancakes will forever bring up bittersweet feels *iykyk*

Cole’s blade never misses…until Sloane. Sloane joins his act and interacts with the blade like she has nothing left to lose, like she welcomes death. Cole should keep his distance, but becomes obsessed instead. With each show, trust builds and hunger awakens. Turns out, there’s a darkness within Sloane that tangles with Cole’s. And once their pasts collide, there’s nothing that will keep Cole away…

Cole is a shameless and I mean SHAMELESS flirt — he’s used to his winning smile and cheeky banter opening doors for him *wink wink*. When Sloane shows up to the carnival, Cole is instantly drawn to her and he figures out very quickly that her walls are high and his usual methods won’t let him scale them. Cole is determined when he sets his mind to it and he’s very dedicated to getting to know the woman behind her defenses, so he recalibrates and when the trust starts to build? It’s so heartwarming! These two complemented one another, and once that spice hits? It gets k!nky quickly and we’re all better for it — Cole likes being restrained and held at 🔪point by his woman so she can reclaim her power…whew! And when their pasts collide? The vigilante justice is so satisfying!

Another fast paced book by that sucks you right in.

After four books the brothers have all properly buried themselves into my heart. I have a major weakness for traumatized men and they are all broken in their own beautiful way. I just want to give them all a big hug, get sandwiched between a few of them and help with their revenge... you know the usual.

I love the found family and banter between them! They are playful but there is zero judgement and they would burn the world down for eachother.

Each brother meets a woman that softens them up and helps them through their trauma and they help her in return with her own, though this time Cole is doing more of the helping since Sloan's own trauma's are major.

I can't wait to read the books still coming about the journey of the remaining three brothers.

And I have to say I'm very pleased with the goat story that I wanted that was mentioned in the previous book 😂

I absolutely love this series, and Knife Thrower was another great addition! One of my favorite things was watching the FMC make our guy WORK for it. 😏🖤 She had her own trauma to work through, and I really appreciated how he honored her pace, respected her hesitations, and gave her the space she needed. There’s something so satisfying about a dark romance hero who can be intense and obsessive while still respecting her boundaries.

I loved seeing their relationship develop, but honestly, I could have read SO much more of their story! I wasn’t ready to let these two go and would have happily devoured more of their journey together.

Arden Hart, I will gladly take more of this couple! 🖤🔥 If you love dark romance with an FMC who makes him earn her trust and a hero who respects her healing process, this series deserves a spot on your TBR!.

Arden has done it again!!! 10/10 for me
First of all I already loved Cole from the glimpses we got of him int eh other books.
Then we get his book, we see more of his serious side, his willingness to be what ever Sloane needs.
Sloane coming from a terrible past, terrible loss and carrying pain that Cole knows nothing about but he just wants to be with her.
I love these 2 together, how they are exactly what the other needs in the moment, no matter what that might be.
Cole was the comedic relief in the other books and he still has that in this book (the fainting goat any one haha) but his ability to be serious and give control to Sloane is absolutely everything to me!!!
This series has me in a chokehold and I can not wait for Logan's book next!!!!.

I loved returning to Seven Sins Carnival, these characters are getting so familiar and I'm looking forward to seeing how their journey continues. Their shared history in a clutches of a cult has made their brotherly bond incredibly strong and each individual is important in their unique way.

It was heartbreaking to read about Sloane's past. But I'm happy that she and Cole got a chance of happiness with this chosen family. There's definitely an emotional rollercoaster ride ahead for those about to read this one.
Spice included 🌶🌶🌶.

I recommend this book to dark romance readers as a spicy snack.

Knife thrower was dark and charismatic, just like Cole. There is so much character growth after finding the right people to help work through trauma. It is a found family that I love the interactions between. The story kept me engaged and I wanted to see how the relationships progressed. Sloane story is a hard one, but she finds the right group of people to help her work through the past.

I would recommend this for anyone that enjoys dark romance.

Knife Thrower, A Dark Carnival. Romance.

Arden Hart's cast of carnival characters are back. Cole is interviewing candidates for a knife catcher for his act. When So lane walks in she immediately captivates Cole. She carries a world of pain, secrets and a huge wall she's built around herself. During the course of working together, So lane finally answers some of Coles questions. Imagine his surprise when she yells him of her step father's abuse and his involvement with the Sanctum of Ash. Cole will help her with her revenge.

🎪 Knife Thrower – Seven Sins Carnival Series 🖤

Another awesome read in the Seven Sins Carnival series! 🎪🖤 The dark carnival vibes, intense chemistry, obsession, and rivals-to-lovers tension had me hooked. The knife-throwing act added the perfect edge of danger, and the connection between these two was 🔥. If you love dark carnival romance with plenty of tension, dangerous attraction, and twisted vibes, this one is definitely worth picking up! 🖤🔪

Slow at first, tears at your heart and then BOOM! Instant connection. She’s been hurt, she’s closed off, and she’s looking for something to live for. Sloan finds all of that and more with Cole and his carnival family. They take her in and listen to her, she opens up and breaks down her walls for them. Loved it!.

I was wondering what Cole's story was going to be. In the previous books he was kind of a manwhxre. I'm glad we got to know Sloane first; she was so completely opposite what I would have expected for Cole, but that's why I loved her. She has a a past of abuse and loss. She's just trying to survive. But Cole wants to teach her to live. The parallels between their lives made for an amazing story of how two people afraid of love and loss can be the catalyst for the others healing. A great rivals to lovers, both healing, HEA with incredible banter.

Sloane auditions to work as a knife catcher with Cole a knife thrower. Her past is hard but she doesnt let it define her, it drives her. Coles been seen as the player but when he meets Sloane he's captivatingly obsessed, and shes the one who makes him work for every inch she gives him! Well written this story is on the darker side of trauma with Sloanes back story. Engaging steamy desires, violence, loss and more!

I loved watching the chemistry build and seeing Sloane reclaim her strength after everything she'd been through. But what I loved most was watching the Seven Sins family welcome someone new into their circle and come together to protect their own. The connection, loyalty, and found-family dynamic made this such a great read!
