Who is Ruth Hay?
I am a retired teacher-librarian who loves books, reading, writing and storytelling.
After a lifetime of writing for education purposes, I can now create the kind of family-friendly stories I have always loved to read.
I have been lucky enough to travel and those adventures feature in my Prime Time novel series.
Visit Scotland, England, Greece, Italy and Egypt with my heroine Anna Mason.
Have you ever known a family that didn't have some kind of mystery to solve? Anna Mason's family is no different. The thing that most surprises, and shocks, Anna, is how much was hidden from her.
How does she uncover the answers? That involves time, travels, a concealed journal and a new home in Scotland that gradually gives up its secrets. Not until the sixth, book, are the most unexpected developments revealed.
In 2016 I added a new chapter to Anna's life story. Read it in Return to Oban. Will there be more? I can't wait to find out!
Also in 2016 the Seven Days Series was completed. What a busy writing year! This series introduces four women who reunite in a luxurious holiday in the English Lake District. Of course, they have a wonderful time together but no one could have expected the surprising events that set off changes lasting far longer than just one week. There are six novels with the last having two sections. Lots of heartfelt reading for you. Which of the women will be your favourite; Zoe, Valerie, Corinne or Sandra?
In 2017 I am working on a new series. Sign up for my monthly Newsletter www.ruthhay.com to get updates.
Thank you for being one of Ruth's Readers.

I’ve enjoyed reading this series of books from Ruth Hay. It is always interesting to me to see how characters in a good series continue and grow. In the next book in the series I’m looking forward to seeing what Ms. Hay does with Carla and her ex-husband. Does Carla continue down the path she is following, and, if she does, will it continue to bring her happiness? And Carla’s ex-husband, what is on the horizon for him?

Another great story

I love the way the friendship of each of these women still holds together, even when they have been apart for long lengths of time.

Seven Days Beyond: There, Back, & Beyond Book 3 is by Ruth Hay. Unfortunately, it is the end of the trio of books about the lives of four wonderful women- Valerie, Sandy, Corrine, and Zoe. Their one week in the Lake District in the UK always is a turning point in their lives.
Once more, Valerie sets out to bring the other three and perhaps Carla, to the Lake District for a week staying in the same condo as before. She sets out to make it as close to the same as it was ten years before. She sends out written invitations and arrives a day ahead to make sure all arrangements are made. This time, she gets a phone call which makes her change her plans and instead of grocery shopping, she goes dress shopping.
Ironically, the ladies arrive in the same order as before. Sandy turns up first and she and Valerie are reacquainted as roommates. Valerie sends Sandy down the hill to find a place for them to eat while she waits on Corrine. With Corrine in tow, she meets Sandy for dinner at the pub. When they get back to the condo, they are surprised to find Zoe waiting on them. Now the party can really get started and Zoe can tell the others the secret.
This book is really good and wraps up the story of the four friends.

Yes, I enjoyed this book and the entire series. It completes the story of 4 women brought together by Valerie. In this book it is ten years later, and Valerie has rented the same condo in the Lake District (England) for a reunion with friends Sandy, Corrine, and Zoe. All have made richer lives for themselves that would not have possible without the initial holiday described in the first book. It was a life affirming story stressing the importance of friendships among women and, especially for Zoe, the power of forgiveness. I recommend this book but it must be read along with the first two, in order, as one part of a whole. This series ties into the author's "Prime Time" series with certain characters connecting as well as places.
