This book is outstanding! I’ve never read a story with so much action. I was white knuckling the book the whole way through, it kept me on the edge of my seat with all the twist and turns. The characters are well written and I loved them all including the town of shadow Gap. I’m hooked and have to read every book In this series. I enjoyed trying to connect pieces of the story and learning of the secrets as Autumn put things together. This is definitely a thriller and would make an incredible movie! Not a single boring second in this book, you will be glued to the pages and thoroughly entertained! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Every book in this series is very good. Plots have deviations from usual stories. Characters are interesting. I highly recommend reading them in order. While I'm waiting for next book in the series, I will read the other books by this author.
It has been a while since I had finished the 3rd in the series about Detective Bridgette Cash. I always enjoyed this one..This one starts out that a body has been found, after investigating who it might be, the DNA results come back. This man was missing ten years ago and declared dead. A man was held in his murder, now after 10 years, the man that was charged is going to be released.
Now Bridgette, working with a new partner, must figure out who killed this man and get the man released that was charged for his murder.
Another great novel that will have your hoping Bridgette solves this one before she might be killed.
Bridgette Cash is at work on a brand new case without family ties.
This is another story that moves quickly, but without the family complications that pervaded the previous novels. Bridgette has an opportunity to work with a new partner, and that provides a substitute for her father's presence in Cold Hard Cash. The sense of movement that I noted in the previous novel is somewhat less, but I finished this novel in a day and a half.
The only quirk I noted was the use of "fortnight", a Britishism that most Americans simply do not recognize. It does mean two weeks, fourteen days, but it clues us into the author's background. In the preceding three novels, I imagined the setting to be in the Rocky Mountain Southwest, but now I can imagine it almost anywhere.
The Cold Light of Day is a gripping continuation that leans into both suspense and emotional depth. The story unfolds with a steady intensity, revealing layers of the mystery piece by piece. What stood out to me was how the tension isn’t just in the plot, but also in the atmosphere—there’s a lingering unease throughout. Trevor Douglas manages to keep things intriguing while gradually building toward impactful revelations.
Bridgett Cash is a young detective with an impressive record for solving cases. This book has a lot of intrigue with dead bodies showing up that the records show were previously dead to a killer who manages to deceive everyone and getting away with multiple murders. Highly recommend this series!
I’m loving the series. And it’s different in that sometimes (most?), the killer(s) are identified before the end. This one bothered me a bit because he kept randomly changing the main suspect’s mother’s name from Lauren to Lorraine.

The most predictable book of the series in my opinion.
It also was pretty clear by three quarters of the book that some of the characters (trying to be vague to not do a spoiler) would have a continuation in future stories.
Went on to this quickly after the last, again as an audiobook. Was doing odd jobs in the first third so not concentrating as much as I ought to have. However, pretty good overall. Some aspects felt a little more contrived in this one.
Love Trevor Douglas books. Will continue to read more of his books with Bridgette Cash, detective. Keeps you wanting to keep turning the pages, especially when you find out the real person who may have been the murderer.
Another amazing instalment of this series. I once again adored Bridgette and loved seeing her be her badass self. She’s such an amazing person that feels so much empathy for others whilst also upholding the law. In this book we really saw the start of the partnership between Bridgette and Levi and i’m excited to see where they go next and what the next case will be. Hopping over to book 5 now!
The mystery is well written and is hard to figure out until the end. I'm glad to see a partner that seems to be working out. Sad there's only two more books in the series.
Another absolutely fantastic story. The characters are fabulous and believable and the story is gripping. I am looking forward to the next the next book. 😊
Another great book in this series. I still contend she is far exceeding what a detective of her experience would accomplish, but that is what makes this series intriguing.
This series with Bridgette Cash are all great reads. This is Trevor’s 4th book and it is excellent! Just like all the other previous novels. On to the next one. ……. 😊
I enjoy the character of Bridgette Cash, however, there was something a little off about this story in the series. There was too much unnecessary details, and information that was already known. The writing wasn’t as tight as it could be. Honestly, I found this story got bogged down, and it was hard going at times.
