She started writing a story about a girl named Keira that just entered college and would eventually fall in love with the son of a mafia boss…then she scrapped it…She restarted and began a story about the tortured son of a Mafia boss that falls in love with a waitress from a small town…she scrapped that one too…finally she began Dangerous Beauty. The story started off as “the son of a Mafia boss meets girl”, then it became the son of a Mafia boss meets the Daughter of a hit-man.
And thus her passion for writing began.

Dangerous Beauty was the first chance she took at writing and she hopes with all her little heart that people enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoys writing them.

This is one of my favourite authors and I have read all her books thus far.

This is Kayla and Eric's story. I read someone's else review which said this book was "sickeningly romantic". I would like to say that I love sickeningly romantic. The chemistry between this couple was awesome. I loved the dialogue between them the words of love and trust that they spoke to each other. Instead of fighting each other they were fighting together to protect their love from those who would seek to destroy it. I loved how Eric stood up to anyone who tried to mess with his girl.

This is my idea of romance and I wish there were more books like this out there. I would read them for sure.

Well done Miss Hardin, you have done it again. Please don't make us wait to long for your next book.

I would highly recommend this story!!!

Sweet fairy tale

It was so sugary sweet that by the ending of the story I almost had a diabetic episode...no disrespect to diabetics....but it is tooooo perfect...not your typical Michelle Hardin story....maybe she's taking a break from the Dangerous Beauty saga....if you are looking for a quick sweet novel...this is it.

1.5 stars... I am going rogue again!

Minor spoiler alert

First, I want to state for the record that I borrowed this hoping to love it and buy it. Not happening.

Now, imagine what the script for a live action Cinderella would read like if it were written by the people who wrote Showgirls. Or Gigli... or some other well meaning, bad movie. This book is the rough draft. I can't seem to write a coherent review that isn't just me posting gifs of Sweet Brown. So, here are the notes I made as I read it (there are direct quotes from the book so again, minor spoilers ahead):

If you are so frivolous with money that you can drop 25 mill on a night of dancing, why are you driving a BMW?

"But what … what if that’s not enough, Eric? I’m just an orphan. I don’t have status, or a good family name. I have a horrible, tragic, past that could possibly be leaked to the public and ruin your reputation, and put your grandfather’s empire in a bad light for the first time in history."
Why is the dialogue so bad? No one talks like this. Especially not a Harvard law (Summa Cum Laude!) graduate.

"Every time you wore those little jean shorts back in college, I envisioned taking them off of you and f*cking you up against one of the walls in professor Rowen’s course"... How can this be when they met in law school?

Morning after pill=/= abortion pill. Stop with this mess romance writers of the world.

"And, Eric, you be good to her, you hear? You treat her like the ebony queen she is you gorgeous white man" Just no.

"The stunning and mysterious Kyla Anne McCall has brought this nation to a stand-still by appearing out of thin air, and winning the heart of Boston’s Prince, the heir to the legendary Joseph Elliot’s international hotel empire, Eric Rhodes. A former model turned lawyer at one of the most prominent law firms in the world, Kyla McCall is a beast, her brilliance as great as her sheer beauty. After graduating at the top of her law school class, the twenty-six year old is now quickly working her way from the bottom to the top and taking Boston’s elite by storm, already turning the heads of some of the wealthiest members of the coveted 1%. Fellow guests at the gala described her as delightful, intriguing, intelligent, and a true future leader of this great nation."
...A beautiful ex model / 26 y.o. law prodigy but thinks she is too plain for black haired Chris Hemsworth. I hate this book. Brought the nation to a stand-still? My eyes hurt from all of the rolling and cutting.

Suits is a nice show but bad for legal research!

"I was like, ‘What the hell, woman, why do you have all of these teddy bears?’ And she looked up at me with that cute little Kyla pout and said ‘They’re special to me …’ When I asked her, ‘Why? What makes Care Bears so special?’ She shrugged her shoulders and answered, ‘They care … they just, care" Actually written in this book...

Why do these people have so many nicknames?

"#PrayForKyla"... I can't anymore. Signs?!

The extra half star/ round up is for the belly laugh I couldn't contain during the meeting with her boss.

APB Perspective Review:
My first book by Michelle Hardin but it won't be my last, I love a book that makes me smile as i read the last page and this book was one that did. Kyla and Eric have loved each other for a long time Kyla's involvement with Terrance keeps them apart. When Kyla breaks up with Terrance Eric decides it's his chance to get his woman , the journey of their relationship is what the story is about. I enjoyed it , the story was sweet and romantic what more can a girl ask for , oh yeah the hot sex Eric really puts it on Kyla and I enjoyed reading that too. I am a new fan of Michelle Hardin I will be sure to add her other books to my library.

Too detailed and immature dialogue/characters. Hated everything about this book. Massively disappointed because the premise had so much potential. Would not recommend.

Loving Kyla

You have a charming voice and you write with such humor, I know once you develop a few more skills you be unstoppable. There were many grammatical errors, POV, tense, research and editing errors. The book does not have the feeling of having been proof read properly. Reading books on modeling, the fashion industry, Law (learning the terminology), Harvard will take the book in a more credible direction. Even the medical injuries and terms were a struggle they also lacked credibility. The IR character development needs research. Eric 's dialect wasn't believable, be careful to capture your character's true voice, this will give them a sense of realism and believability, which the story lacks currently. Having them stay true to one another is okay, but you must still develop where the conflict is coming from deeper than how you presented yours. Shady came off as loud, crass, and unrefined at times and I believe your intent was to make her real and direct. Then make her real flush her out, without the theatrics and drama. Ex walking up on her friend as if she's going to hit, even in a playful manner did not work well, in how you used the scene . Maybe if you had explained that the women teased one another in this way since meeting it would have worked better. When things were not fanned out the writing became sloppy and choppy. Also if these two were best friends there are many things they would have definitely known about each other, Kyla stating she didn't know who Eric was dating felt odd. Eric not having any interaction with Terrence, also felt odd. Even if Eric 's interaction was judgemental or he snubbed Terrence, we should have seen something after 5 years of him being Kyla's best friend for credibility. It's a sweet story that I would love to see developed more fully. Would love character descriptions developed without using actor's or artist's names, don't take the easy way out. You conveyed some sweet character's with a little more development and work, you'd have something that could really sell. Everyone loves a great Cinderella story. Good luck.

Kyla and Eric have been in love with each other for years. The problem is that neither one knows how the other feels. Now that Kyla has broken up with her cheating fiance, Eric is determined to make her realize that they are perfect for each other.
This was a very sweet fairytale romance. Eric is the perfect book boyfriend, he's sweet and caring and he's loved Kyla since he first met her. Kyla is an independent woman who's just realizing her self worth. When these two finally get together the passion and love they have for each other is more than they thought possible. I had fun getting two these two, they were so lovey-dovey and fiercely loyal to one another. Even when others tried to place doubt in their minds about their relationship they seemed unbreakable. It you're looking for a a happily ever after where the Prince get's his Princess, you're going to enjoy Loving Kyla.

Awesome book! I was hooked from page one. I couldn't put it down until I was finished.

I loved "Kay Bear" and wanted her and Eric to have the HEA almost from the beginning. Terrance was the SOB from hell! Vitoria was the bitch from hell and mama Lila was the witch from hell. They were a triad of hell drama for Kyla!

The ending was awesome! Never saw that coming. You got to read the book. It'll be well worth your time.

I think this a nice romance novel. However after reading this author's previous work I actually expected more, not to take away from this book but just because I thought it would be more excitement going on in the book.

It's water under the bridge

Kyla learned through therapy and her Granny Nina, that she could rise above her tragic childhood. One can not change what has already happened. One can learn from it and move forward. She was determined not to let anything keep her from accomplishing her goals, especially since that was a promise she made to Granny Nina, the only mother that counted to her.

Eric knew the minute he saw Kyla, she was the one for him. He had to find a way to convince her. She on the other hand felt the same way about him. They just came from totally different backgrounds. Kyla, being an orphan, thought she was unworthy of Eric Rhodes, Boston's high society's billionaire heir, and would never be accepted by the circles moved though, and kept him in the friend's zone.

Regardless of how many scholarships, how intelligent, hard-working cut throat of a lawyer she was, there were those that constantly reminded her of where she came from. With this in mind, she became engaged to a man she really was not in love with because her heart already belonged to Eric. She loved Terrance, but she was not in love with him. Once she and Terrance split, Eric was finally able to take the opportunity to make her his. His dream was coming true, after he thought he'd lost her to another man. Nothing or anyone would stop him, not even his mother Lila.

This was a great story to read. It was written in a way that was heart wrenching and made the reader feel all of the emotions that Kyla was battling. It is a story about how high society is not always what out appears to be on the outside and what ends some will go through to keep the money in the family. What helped Kyla and Eric was that they had great friends that had their back. Kyla may had been an orphan, but she had a great family of friends of her choosing. What I don't understand is why Eric's father stayed married to Lila. I wish the author would have gone into more detail is about that.

This was an enjoyable book to read. The plot and story line was heart wrenching and full of surprises.

FANTASTIC READ!!

Kyle and Eric, I am going to miss you, guys, so much.
From nothing to riches, that's Kyla! That girl is unstoppable, she doesn't let her life's circumstances dictates who she is and stops her from achieving her dreams. Like anybody else, she has her moments of weakness and uncertainties, but she dusted her butt and get back on the saddle even stronger. And, Sweet and at the same time strong Eric, the Prince of Boston... her best friend, love of her life and vice versa,... You can't help, but fall in love with the man.
I love Shay and Reese... And grandpa Joe.
I wish I met Nina, she sounds wonderful.
Anyway, the book is amazing and don't want to spoil it for you. Just grab a copy and you won't regret it.

What a lovely romantic read

I just loved both Kyla and Erickson. Both devoted to each other yet neither realised how the other felt. Kyla was in a relationship which she found out later to be open sided as her fiance h ad betrayed her. Kyla, though a superb lawyer and Erickson's friend, would, no could not see herself with him in a meaningful way because of her sordid and brutal past, which is ironical as Erickson loved her for that very reason. This story is filled with Drama as it becomes clear that Erickson's family do not approve of the growing relationship. Great tension. Love Erickson and Kyla's friends Shay and Reece. Great supporting cast. This is my first book by thIs author but I shall be reading more of her books. Also pleased that the book is not riddled with grammatical errors. A lovely romantic read.

Lovely story.

I decided to read this book solely on the reviews that were posted from it. I'll admit there was a whole lot of crying 😭going on but I loved very moment of it. Kyla and Ericson were truly meant for each other. This is a love story with all of the be people, haters, and just typical do no good folks as well as those that are absolutely the most loyal friends you could have. The twists of fate in this story were appropriate and well written. Thank you Ms. Hardin, I look forward to reading much more from you.☺👍

Pull out the tissue!

This story had a lot of moments that triggered your emotions. There were the Ahhh moments, the Wow moments and at the end it was just a total tear jerker. It was a story of the triumph of the human spirit after so much tragedy and adversity, then finding and accepting the love of friends, family and the person of your dreams! Kyla and Eric were together at the end, committed to each other and beginning the family that she for so long desired to have for always and forever! 💞

At first I was thinking this was going a little slow. I was enjoying it, but I really wanted something to happen. They finally got together and progress was bring made, but that ending got me! I loved it. I also loved how sweet Eric was about Kyla (even when she wasn't present), and I hope others have that for myself one day.
