I picked this up hoping for a deep dive into Polish culture and some genuine "insider" tips, but I left feeling completely underwhelmed. For a book that claims to be a guide for outsiders, it misses the mark on several levels.
Why it didn't work for me: • Most of what is written here can be found in a five-minute Google search. It lacks the "insider" depth I was expecting and feels more like a collection of random facts rather than a cohesive guide. • The writing style didn't grab me at all. It felt quite clinical and lacked the personality or "soul" that makes travel and culture guides interesting to read. • The layout and the way the information is presented felt disjointed. I found it hard to stay focused because it didn't seem to have a clear direction or a helpful flow.
I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking for practical advice or a real understanding of Poland. There are much better resources out there that offer more value and a more engaging perspective. A total disappointment.
