Having been on Bella J's ARC list for awhile now, I know she writes with ferocity. Her men are strong, possesive, the females strong women who hold their owm. But nothing prepared me for this masterpiece, A Delicate Kind of Carnage certainly lived up to its name!
Raw uncensored pain, Reth was put through so much. Every emotion he was put through I felt in my heart, I cried, shouted at the pages wanting to pull Valeria out and choke her for hurting Reth with her evil ways. Would he survive ? As I poured through the pages the angst, the terror and anger I felt rose to the surface. That is a book written well , to allow the reader feel the same emotions as the characters, so easily.
Sophia is distraught , trying to bake her way through the pain. Waiting to hear Reth was ok. Starting out as his captive she now loves him, the man and the monster, Valeria has made him into. Sophia just needs to help him survive his mind, to be able to live along side her without Valeria holding the leash.
Ian so selfless he is amazing, always being the one holding it together for them all. Sacrificing himself for Reth to get freedom.
This wrung me out, the writing so gripping, so real, Bella has written an epic ending to Reth and Sophia's story. Emotional throughout, it was all about the darkness that Reth had gone through as a young boy and now as a man, to get some sort of peace, away from Valeria and her evilness, it was his story to tell, Sophia and Ian were there waiting for him to get his justice.
Warning of lots of triggers, so take heed but an ending for Reth and Sophia that fits. Sad that this is over for Reth and Sophie but hope to read Ian's story soon. Thankyou to Bella for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow!
This is a hard one to read. She has got him chained up and she thinks she has won. Reth, drugged up and out of his mind. Pain and regret torturing him every day until he doesn't even know what is real any more. Sophia pining for him and not knowing what has happened.
But there may be someone willing to help. Hot read.
This was an intense 3 book series which tackles s. assault, torture and loss.

Where do I begin with this one? We drop right back into A Beautiful Kind of Broken in Japan with Sophia and Ian, and there's no sign of Reth. Protocols don't keep you warm when you're not getting reports back. Nothing to give Sophia any sign to watch for. No more peonies every six days to tell her that he's coming, like they did back in Paris.
After the cliffhanger in book two, I was more than ready for some revenge. I was prepared for a lot of violence. As a reader, we want that. But, we're not quite to that part yet. We still have some more really dark and difficult places to go with Reth, and it's not easy. We spend chapters sitting in the dark and filth and witnessing what can only be described as horrific things. Please be sure to check your trigger warnings for this one, because there are many.
While Bella J absolutely delivers on both the revenge and the violence, those aren't the parts that will stay with me now that I've closed the book. The healing is what does. Healing isn't instant, and Bella never pretends it is. What lingered with me most throughout this entire book was that everyone is trying. They're not succeeding all the time. Not making perfect choices. Just trying to survive when it would be easier to choose otherwise, to love when it would be easier to leave, to heal while carrying wounds that refuse to stay in the past, to grasp what's real and what isn't, and to become something better than what was done to them. Everyone carries wounds here. Some deeper than others, but they're all trying to survive what life handed them. That's where this book lives. In the spaces where Sophia and Ian refuse to stop helping Reth find his way back.
One of my favorite parts wasn't watching Sophia save Reth. It was watching her realize she couldn't. She could understand him, accept him, love him, and never waver when he couldn't even trust himself. Reth's journey isn't about becoming a different man. It's about finally believing he never stopped being himself. He's not just the broken parts, he's not just the monster, he's all the pieces, and all of them deserve to be loved.
And that brings me to the apple cinnamon muffins. I'm fully aware of just how ridiculous that sounds considering everything else that happens in this book, but yes, muffins. After everything these characters survive, a batch of muffins in the middle of the night became one of the most memorable moments in the entire trilogy. That's not silly or unnecessary. It's good character work and shows trust in the readers to know just how it's supposed to land and feel it. Smell that fresh baked goodness and feel the warmth, because it's hard fought and earned.
Ian continued proving why every series deserves someone like him. Rowan became even more fascinating as more pieces of the puzzle finally clicked into place. I found myself remembering specific moments from book two and flipping back to check my notes in the book. Had I highlighted those spots? Why yes. Yes, I had. So many things had been sitting in plain sight from earlier books, just waiting for the right moment to matter and they absolutely did. I love when I'm able to remember, reach back, and dig for information like that. It makes such a great reading experience for me.
And that ending... This trilogy was built on obsession, darkness, violence, and revenge, but Bella still brought me to a place that felt hopeful. Not everyone walked away untouched. They chose each other anyway. And when it was over, it felt inevitable because the characters had been telling us who they were the entire time.
Thank you, Bella J, for another ARC. This trilogy reminded me why your books always end up covered in highlights, notes, theories, and so many emotions, including the ones over baked goods. I wasn't expecting that one either. This is why your books fill my shelves. Definitely your darkest series, and every minute spent in it was worth it. (Oh, and Gerald... Can't forget Gerald. I want one for my shelf or desk.)

Bella J did exactly what I knew she would do… she destroyed me.
After everything Reth and Sophia endured throughout the first two books of this trilogy , I thought I was ready for their final chapter.
I wasn’t.
From the very first page, I was pulled back into their world of darkness, pain, vengeance, sacrifice, obsession and a love powerful enough to survive the impossible.
My heart bled for Reth.
For everything Valeria stole from him… his childhood, his innocence, his freedom, and the chance to become the man he was always meant to be. She spent years breaking him, manipulating him and convincing him he was nothing more than the monster she created.
But beneath the scars, the violence and the darkness was always the man Sophia saw.
And Sophia… my heart.
She never backed down. She loved Reth fiercely and completely. Their connection was intense, consuming and filled with the kind of obsession that makes you believe some souls are simply meant to find each other.
She may have allowed her heart to become attached to another, but what she shared with Reth was something deeper — stronger and impossible to deny.
She believed in him when he couldn’t believe in himself.
And let’s talk about the chemistry between these two… the tension, the passion, the spice and that undeniable pull between Reth and Sophia was everything… it burns off the pages and reminds you why these characters are impossible not to love.
Watching Sophia use her deep understanding of the human mind to get inside Valeria’s thoughts was absolutely brilliant. And the moment she showed Valeria that Reth wanted her, that he loved her, that he chose her and that Valeria never truly owned his heart… EPIC. Valeria could manipulate his past, but she could never take away the love, devotion and connection he had with Sophia.

She doesn’t just tell a story…she creates an experience. She takes 26 letters and turns them into characters who feel real, emotions that consume you and moments that stay with you long after the final page.

Reth and Sophia’s HEA was beautiful, emotional and bittersweet after everything they survived. They deserved every moment of happiness they found.

That final twist opened the door to a new storm and knowing someone else will be walking into the chaos Reth just left behind has me hurting and desperately needing more.

The hardest books to review are the ones that disappoint your expectations, not your respect.
Bella J has one of those writing styles that I would recognize anywhere.
Her prose is almost lyrical, effortlessly turning heartbreak into poetry and finding beauty in places most authors would only see destruction. She has an incredible gift for making even the harshest moments feel strangely delicate, and that talent is on full display once again in A Delicate Kind of Carnage.
Unfortunately, this was the first book in the series where the story itself didn’t captivate me quite as much as the writing did.
After being completely invested in the first two books, I found myself hoping this finale would push the story into new emotional territory. Instead, parts of it felt repetitive, revisiting familiar ideas and emotional beats that had already hit so powerfully earlier in the series. While Bella J’s beautiful prose continued to pull me through the pages, I found myself wanting the plot to carry the same momentum.
I also hoped for a conclusion that dug a little deeper. By the time I reached the end, I wanted to leave feeling like I’d uncovered one final layer of these characters and their journey. Instead, I found myself admiring the way the story was told more than the story itself.
That said, I have a feeling I’ll be in the minority here. Bella J’s writing has a devoted audience for good reason, and I can absolutely see many readers falling in love with this installment just as they did the first two.
For me, though, this was a rare instance where the beauty of the words outshined the emotional payoff I had been hoping for.
Even so, Bella J remains an author whose work I’ll continue to pick up without hesitation. Sometimes one book doesn’t hit quite the way you hoped… but that doesn’t diminish the talent behind it.
The writing was beautiful.

But if you’re looking for an ending that is authentic, haunting and true to these beautifully broken characters, Bella J delivers exactly that. It is raw, bittersweet and utterly unforgettable—the only ending Sophia and Reth could ever have had.

We finally made it to the last and final book of the trilogy. Although I'll be sad to see this story end, I also couldn't wait to see how they got their HEA!
What happens when you've given every part of yourself, every second of your life to those you've loved, only to find out that none of it was what you thought? When betrayal doesn't come from your known enemy but from somewhere unexpected. It shatters the glass house you were standing in; the life you knew implodes to the point where it feels like it doesn't exist, and you realize it was never worth the suffering you endured. Chaos, vengeance, and pure rage are what happen.
The cards being held have dropped, revealing the truth and lies. Oh, the tangled web you didn't even know you were caught in. But the web has been destroyed, and the pieces are finally falling to the ground.
A delicate kind of carnage is a complex book filled with so much emotion that it almost numbs you (in a good way). I felt everything the characters went through, and it was so incredibly heartbreaking. It was also beautiful in its own way, a story about two people fighting for love and hope of a future together—the challenges they had to endure and the unwavering belief that they would somehow get through it all.

I felt everything the characters went through, and it was so incredibly heartbreaking. It was also beautiful in its own way, a story about two people fighting for love and hope of a future together—the challenges they had to endure and the unwavering belief that they would somehow get through it all.

ADKOC is the final book of the Pretty Savage trilogy.
And I knew the author was going to deliver one unforgettable book. And what an epic conclusion she gave us, Reth and Sophia.
The story is so freaking emotional, so gut wrenching and heartbreaking.
My heart and soul were completely shattered and broken for Reth.
For everything taken and stolen from him since childhood.
I wanted to jump into the pages and pulverize Valeria.
But there is still something special that is interwoven into all the devastation giving hope and bits of rays of sunshine through the ugly darkness.
Sophia steadfast in her feelings for Reth and believed in him wholeheartedly.

Bella J is an author whose writing makes me feel… every single thing. From the first page to the last, the emotional impact was ever present and was a “Delicate Kind of Carnage” for me as the reader. Days after finishing reading, I cannot let these characters go.
I have spent ages with Reth in that horrific cell with all its brutality and his trauma and psychological torment. I have sat with Sophia in Japan while she patiently waits for Reth and feel both her belief and her desperation as the days go by. Then there’s Ian who caught my attention in the previous book. Stoic and dependable Ian and the quiet, and sometimes difficult, sacrifices he made. Underlying Ian and Sophia’s actions there is always hope and a dogged determination to wait for, and help, Reth with whatever is needed and whatever the personal cost. There is a strong and undeniable bond between the three of them.
Valeria has to have a mention too. Her evilness knows no bounds as she systematically tries to dismantle Reth physically, mentally and emotionally, even trying to use Sophia to achieve her goal. It is therefore fitting that Sophia and Reth are able to exact the perfect revenge as a united front.
Sophia and Reth’s love is constant and survives and, although they have a hard earned and well deserved ending, it is bittersweet and it’s Ian that remains in my thoughts. I hope Sophia holds onto Gerald.
Finally, I will never be able to look at a muffin or a heart shaped lollipop again without thinking of this trilogy and its characters.

Fantastic!!! However, there is a small but…
I waited until I finished the series before leaving a comment. All 3 books are fantastic!!
The plot kept me invested (and usually I’m over it by book 3). I was never bored. I never wished for it to end.
For a dark romance reader, I thought the darkness was perfect.
I loved the characters, especially Ian.
The spice was good too.
The epilogue could have been longer, but it did give me enough into the future to be satisfied.
But…
And this “but” may be mine alone.
And opinions are like buttholes-everyone has one.

The nickname Reth gave Sophia drove me up a wall.
“Cherry-Red””
Why?!?
What kind of nickname is that?

WHAT. AN. ENDING!!! This book threw me onto the biggest emotional roller coaster of my life from page 1!!! I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as I hated Valeria! I've been wishing her 💀 since book 1 but this book i was mentally stabbing her and throwing her off cliffs 😆. A few of Bella Js books have made me cry and I've had some emotional moments but a part in this book BROKE ME!!! I had to take a break because I got that emotional reading it!! I absolutely loved Ian and I need his book next!!!! Im putting my order in for that!!!

Then we have Ian. The man is so dedicated to taking care of Sophia for Reth that he stole my heart. This man needs his own book. Sophia though is really worried about Reth, as she should be. A Delicate Kind of Carnage was brutal, emotionally intense, and easily the darkest book in the trilogy, but the darkness never felt random.
What made it work for me was the character writing. Reth’s trauma, fear, shame, and need for Sophia were painfully believable, while Sophia remained intelligent, grounded, and compassionate without turning into a magical cure. Their relationship is tested in horrifying ways, but the emotional bond stays at the center of the story.
The villain is genuinely disturbing, not because she is simply cruel, but because she understands exactly where to hurt people. Some scenes were difficult to read so the trigger warnings should be taken seriously.
Ian also continues to be one of the best side characters in the series. He brings warmth and humor into a very heavy story, while quietly carrying more emotional weight than he lets anyone see. And that ending? It feels suspiciously like a door left open for another book. 👀🦢

A Delicate Kind of Carnage by Bella J was the perfect conclusion to the Pretty Savage Trilogy. This series has completely consumed me, and I couldn't have asked for a better ending to Reth and Sophia's story.
After everything these two endured, I was desperate to see how it would all play out. The emotion in this book hit so hard, and Bella J had me feeling every ounce of hope, heartbreak, and desperation alongside the characters. There were so many moments where I couldn't stop turning the pages because I needed to know what happened next.
Reth remains one of my favorite dark romance heroes. Beneath all the darkness is a man who never stopped fighting for the woman he loves, and seeing his journey come full circle was incredibly rewarding. Sophia was just as strong, refusing to give up on the man she believed was still worth saving.
The suspense, emotional twists, and unforgettable chemistry made this impossible to put down. Bella J wrapped up every loose end while delivering a finale that was equal parts heartbreaking and beautiful.

Wow! I could not put this book down. The conclusion to Nazareth (Reth) and Sophia's story. Believe me it did not disappoint. The Evil Valerie is all present and accounted for. And then there is Ian, what can I say. He is so dedicated to taking care of Sophia for Reth. Valerie has captured Reth and "EVIL" doesn't begin to describe what she is. He goes in to kill her and doesn't come back. Sophia is beyond worried and scared about what has happened to him. Ian is with her keeping her safe and trying to keep her from going crazy with worry about Reth. Just writing this review is giving me a knot in my stomach thinking about what everyone is going through ESPECIALLY Reth. Valerie is the evilest villain I have come across in all the books I have read. (Kudos to Bella). YOU have GOT to read this book. You must start from the beginning with Book 1, so you don't miss anything. This is a 5 Star series and if I could I would give it 10 Stars - way to go Bella J!

When Andrei joins them, it’s decided to take matters into their own hands with the help of Rowan, Valeria’s husband. Yet the rescue is not without its own struggles as Reth keeps Sophia away, tearing your heart further. Ian inserts himself in front of Reth’s defenses and suffers for it, but pushes Reth to realize that Sophia doesn’t care about his past, just their future. How will it all play out with Valeria taunting them still and Rowan’s price for Reth’s freedom? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

Oh My Godddddd !!! Bella has done it again ...what a shocker ..what an ending to a gory gruesome yet bone shattering story. This Finale !!! Reth ..the Monster, the man who loved so deeply it cut, and Sophia - the only one who could tame that monster, and show him that he could love, he was capable, he was worthy and deserving , and believed in him so deeply that it stood the very defiant test thrown out by Valeria the monster maker, and in the end wins him back and loves every broken bit of his shattered body , every scar she left behind, on his body and in his psyche, and shows that real love prevails in the end .... always !! Saving the last gory details so as to keep spoilers minimum, a must read if you want to know how this pretty savage trilogy really ends for Sophia and Reth !!

Oh my! Bella has completely destroyed me again. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My emotions were all over the place. My heart just broke and bled out for what Reth went through. And Sophia just added more to that hurt and pain. Bella really put them through the wringer in their last book. Their story has pulled at me through all three books and I am so glad we didn’t have long to wait before each book. I don’t think my heart and possibly my sanity could’ve handled a long wait. 😂This book shows you that you can find look even when you think you are broken. There is so much that was put in this book. Drama, hurt, pain, lies, deception, worry, suspense, action, love, and twists that hurt. I loved Reth and Sophia’s story and I love Ian. I hope we see him again, because that man deserves love like the two people who he loves and means the world to him.

Nothing will prepare you for this one. The physical and psychological war that happens will bring out all kinds of emotions. Bella J's dark and such great detail of this one is beyond words. She really puts you in tune in how each character is feeling. The things and lengths that Reth has to go thru to come out thru the other side. The way Sophia fights her own demons while loving a monster that was made. All while Ian who's feelings for Sophia and his loyalty for Reth makes him do something Reth wouldn't have wanted him to do.
This series was different from previously read series of Bella. I could not ask for a better one. You can see how much this one took from her. The writing is extreme and details phenomenal.

Let me start by saying there’s nothing delicate about the carnage in this book. It was dark, raw, and heartbreaking. A Delicate Kind of Carnage is the third book in the Pretty Savage series, and it picked up right where book two ended.
This book sucked me in from the very first page. It felt like I was in a trance. I just kept reading and reading because I couldn’t stop. It was so brutal and so emotional at times that I just needed to know how it would end. And did the ending satisfy me? I can’t put into words how happy the vengeance made me. It was everything I needed!
I really hope this series will continue because I’d love to see more of these characters!

This book sucked me in from the very first page. It felt like I was in a trance. I just kept reading and reading because I couldn’t stop. It was so brutal and so emotional at times that I just needed to know how it would end. And did the ending satisfy me? I can’t put into words how happy the vengeance made me. It was everything I needed!
I really hope this series will continue because I’d love to see more of these characters!

As always, an amazing book. These two definitely deserved the happy ending they got. The heartbreak in this book, ugh. I know I signed up for the emotional damage personally, but dang... A fantastic read, wasn't ready for the serious to be over with. However, does this mean we get another series about Ian being the new weapon now? That little note Sophia left in her diary...
Anyway, yes, get the book. You won't be disappointed. Her material is fantastic, and I'm glad to call her one of my favorite authors!

I waited till I read all the books in the series. I did try to read the trigger warnings listed. i DID NOT READ THE LAST BOOK WARNINGS. I should have! I was invested in this series.
Bella J outdid herself.
This was a journey Reth and Sophia. The twists in all the books---the emotions being pulled from the last book went from crying to sobbing, hating a fictional character, to attempting to come to grip with Reth and Sophia's experience during the time apart. Reth's torture at the hands of Valeria. Sophia's lonliness without knowing where Reth was.
Bella J! I am lost without Reth and Sophia. Will there be an Ian book in the future?

Wow! This book ruined me…all the bad things Reth endured? This series was one that I wanted to finish to see how it ended but didn’t want it to end because it is just THAT good. Sofia was always hoping her guy would come back to her. Reth always had a plan to go back to her…and Ian?? I hope you get your happy ending because you deserve that much. I have read many of Bella J’s books and these books are by far my favorite. She says in the very beginning of this book that this was the darkest book she’s written and she wasn’t lying! Her story telling is amazing. When you read this book, hang on for the ride. It’s so so worth it!

This is one of her darkest and violent book.
Check your triggers before diving in.
Reth, an unusual name for unusual protagonist.
Reth and Sophia perfect for each other and had good chemistry.
Both had their respective journey and character arc.
Reth went through hell and back. He finally got his closure.
Sophia helped him come out of his trauma.
So many twists and turns. An absolute page turner.

Long after I was finished reading this book I could not stop thinking about it. You know that kind of book that reaches out and grabs you by the throat and you can't swallow because of the lump in your throat well this is that book. Valeria is a heartless character that had me just about to chuck my kindle across the floor the way she treated Reth UGH ! yet I couldn't stop reading this story and poor Sophia waiting so long for Reth to come back 😥. Bella J had to have poured her heart and soul into this book and probably some tears too for which I thank you.

Delicate Kind of Carnage is the third book in the Pretty Savage series, and it picked up right where book two ended.
Full of devastation it's brutal and raw, the emotions in Reth and Sophia hurt so much my heart was breaking. Sophia was an amazing woman with so much strengh and heart for Reth the Monster and the Man accepting all parts of him.
This was truly phenominal, I was so invested in these two they will live in my head for awhile to come. I really hope theres more of this world to come.
