Most of the poem got me of this book… mostly this one —

“When they tell you things should stay in the family, what they mean is:
We'll keep hurting you but don't worry,
we will also bandage your scars.
Promise us,
you'll never take the bandage off your lips,
or the world will know we're not the ones healing you,
we're the ones causing the pain”

This book is a collection of poetry and proses that is very emotional. The book is very deeply relatable, very soul stirring, it is for people who love very deeply and have very strong feelings!

It is a reflection of what we experience and our emotions when the one we love treats us with zero care or concern. This book is for those whose hearts were broken by someone they never thought could hurt them. There are pages with lines that will bring tears to your eyes!

It is simple and arresting language that is personal and reflective of grief and attachment. it is a validating and lightening of the heavy heart. Everything about this book is remarkable, right from the cover to the title. The cover is interesting and engaging, and the title is perfect for the content that follows. Together they create the mood of what's inside and it makes it even more memorable. I highly recommend this poetry book to every poetry lovers!

It never feels normal to digest the fact that I am holding the exact book that my mind needs in order to survive a particular situation. I have proof now that the Universe is talking with me, through the words of others.

It's pouring outside today, on the first day of Savann. So weird, how the weather outside reflects our moods inside. I enjoyed this rain after a long long while.

I don't have the words to review or express my thoughts about the works of Rithvik Singh. His words feel like the poetry that makes up my DNA. It feels good to see that there's someone real existing in this world who thinks and feels with the same intensity and sincerity as I do (or maybe not fully, because no two humans are fully same) - that too with full honesty and happiness, without feeling like an alien like I do. (Yes, I have been called an "alien" multiple times in my life by near and far ones) But reading his words made me feel hope after a long long long time that maybe aliens like me do exist, whose words, intent and actions match the tenor of their hearts and souls.

If you are an emotional person who wears their hearts on their sleeves proudly or someone who loved the wrong person deeply and are unable to let them go, leading you to the realisation that you have major self abandonment issues and fundamentally values others' lives more over your own, because you had completely forgotten that YOUR days are numbered too like THEM, or someone who has done all the shadow work and has now come to the same uncomfortable conclusion - that it's time to choose yourself over that toxic attachment, who would NEVER choose you, no matter what other self harming decisions or choices you took and killed yourself literally - because, let's face it, they simply didn't LOVE you, the way you LOVE, boundlessly and sincerely - yes, if that someone is YOU, read these poetry books. You'll cry, you'll smile, you'll be forced to face uncomfortable facts, but at the final page, you'll definitely return to yourself, I promise.

Loved loved loved your words, poet . I am happy to live in a world with people like you.

I went into “Did You Ever Love Me?” expecting a story, but it turned out to be a collection of reflections, emotions, and short pieces rather than a continuous narrative. It took me a while to adjust my expectations, and I think knowing that beforehand would have made the reading experience smoother.

Rithvik Singh’s writing is gentle and easy to read, and there are a handful of beautiful lines that stay with you. Some chapters genuinely made me pause and reflect, especially those about self-worth, heartbreak, and healing. However, not every piece had the same impact. A few felt repetitive, and after a while, the emotions began to blend together instead of building into something deeper.

I also found myself wanting stronger connections between the stories or a clearer sense of progression. While I understand that the book is meant to be a collection of independent pieces, I personally missed having a central narrative to hold everything together.

Overall, this is a comforting read for anyone who enjoys introspective writing and relatable thoughts about love and loss. It just wasn’t as memorable or emotionally powerful for me as I had hoped.

Worth reading for the quotes and reflections, but it didn’t fully resonate with me.

Good book, actually maybe it's not my type.
So many small quotes about unspoken love and pain—I experienced that too, but it doesn't feel like anything to me. For me, I feel like if my ex still sends snaps, then I can send each quote for her to make her remember that I am still searching for that special feeling, but as something to read, I don't like this.
Yeah, this is a small one; it doesn't need a day to finish but I read it slowly and take time to blend in it, but still, I don't feel anything like the hype or anything, but the words are good.

If you like poem then you will love this book. Some paragraphs will make you pause. Rithvik Singh’s words always feels like your own. But if you don’t like poem maybe this book will make you a little less comfortable.

Not every book is meant for every reader. This one wasn’t my cup of tea, but I can still appreciate the writing and the effort behind it. It just didn’t match my reading preferences.
