From New York Times bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a spicy sports romance filled with late-night book club confessions, forbidden attraction, and one slow-burn love story that refuses to stay platonic.

They're just friends.
At least, that's what she thinks. Him? He has other plans.

Bennett Brinkman is San Francisco baseball's golden boy-focused, disciplined, and very bad at ignoring the one woman he shouldn't want. Falling for his sister's best friend was inevitable, even though she's known him since he was all gangly elbows, bad haircuts, and teenage awkwardness...and still insists on seeing him that way.

Bower knows exactly why wanting Bennett is a terrible idea. She's fiercely loyal to her best friend and well aware that crossing this particular line could blow everything up. But when she moves into Bennett's apartment building, that "just friends" boundary begins to blur in the most tempting ways.

The banter comes fast.
The sparks come faster.
And pretending it's "no big deal" is getting ridiculous.

As feelings get messier and attraction turns undeniable, Bennett and Bower must decide if risking their family ties is worth chasing the love that's been in front of them all along.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

This book was exactly what I needed & wanted in a summer rom com and I devoured it so fast! The audio was absolutely fantastic and the casting couldn’t have been more perfect! Samantha Brentmoor & Teddy Hamilton performed our main characters, Bower & Bennett - they are two of my faves and were amazing at bringing these two to life! And the rest of the cast included JF Harding, Connor Crais, Stella Hunter, Emma Wilder, and Jason Clarke. Talk about a dream team to listen to!

Bower and Bennett have known each other for years - she’s his sister’s best friend and has always been there for them. But Bennett was crushing hard from the moment he saw Bower, never thinking he’d ever have a chance with her. But after years of friendship and with her moving to the same city and living in his building…things definitely start to change.

The playful banter between these two is perfection! I love that they have that friendship as a base for their relationship and how comfortable they are with each other. I live for a good slow burn and I was eating this up!

What to expect:

The way I devoured this book so fast! The audio with Samantha Brentmoor & Teddy Hamilton was fantastic! These two are always a top tier duo & I loved every second!!

Bennett & Bower!! She is so lovable & unapologetically her! Bower is a man down bad & ready to be everything for her! I am obsessed with these two. The tension, the yearning moments, the chemistry, and the absolute heat they brought!! This was so fun, swoony, & full of delicious spice!!! In typical MQ fashion, she had me laughing out loud, giddy, and even brought tears to my eyes.

As always, honorable mention to the Gladdy Daddies, because I love them!!! The friend group & group chats just get me every time! I cannot wait for more from these characters!!

If you’re wanting the perfect summer rom com, look no further… because this one has it all! A fun & absolutely spicy friends to lovers read that will have you falling in love too!!

Thank you MQ & team for the early ARC & ALC opportunity!! ❤️

I have been waiting for Bower to get her own book, and it absolutely delivered! I loved her unfiltered, unapologetic personality, and she truly shined in this story. As a fellow book lover, I loved seeing her passion for books and watching her chase her dreams.

Then there’s Bennett, he was everything and more. Even though he was eight years younger, he was incredibly mature, patient, and completely devoted to Bower. My mom always told me to fall in love with someone who loves you more, and Bennett is the perfect example of that.

I also loved Nolan’s addition to the group. He brought so much humor and was such a fun character. Getting more of OC and Grayden was everything I wanted, and seeing Maggie and Ryland from Almond Bay pop back in made me so happy.

The spice definitely delivered, but the slow-burn tension leading up to it was even better. And if you’ve read it, you already know the cupcake scene and the bedroom mirror scene will be living rent-free in my head forever.

Meghan Quinn never misses, and this was everything I hoped Bower’s story would be.

Meghannnnnnn!! This book was so good I didn’t want to put it down. I absolutely ate up Bennett and Bower’s connection. Their banter was everything, and the tension, yearning, and spice had me literally giddy, smiling, and kicking my feet the entire time I was listening to this book.

This book was also hilarious. I don’t know where Meghan gets her sense of humor, but she gets me every single time. The way Bennett has always been in love with Bower and stands up for their relationship, even though it’s so forbidden because she’s his sister’s best friend, had me squealing. I just knew he would have that moment, and it did not disappoint.

Bower is such a book lover, and I loved seeing her follow her dreams. I also loved her unfiltered personality. One of my favorite things about this couple was how well they communicated and how they fought for each other once their secret was no longer a secret.

I honestly didn’t want this book to end. If Meghan writes it, I’m reading it no questions asked. She never misses!

I also had the opportunity to listen to the ALC, and of course, the cast did not disappoint. They did an amazing job. Plus, if Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor are narrating, please sign me up!

Thank you Mommy Quinn and Good Girls PR for the ARC/ALC!

This is hands down the funniest Meghan Quinn book I’ve read. When I tell you I just kept laughing outloud every other sentence 😂

I did this one primarily in audio and holy shit!!! What an incredible performance. You’d think by now I’d know all sides of Teddy Hamilton but somehow this man still finds way to surprise me with his voice and talent. And all that combines with my dream girl crush Samantha Brentmoor??? A RECIPE FOR MAXIMUM HORNINESS!!

Seriously, what an incredible freaking performance. Of course I have to also give gib gib kudos to the rest of the cast because they were all absolutely perfect!

Loved this story. Loved the spice… I see you Meghan, I see you 🥵🥵

I’m so happy to have gotten so many of my favorite microtropes in a single book. This one is about readers and for the readers.

this was so freakin’ good!!! i usually rate MQ’s books 3-4 ⭐️ bc of how cheesy they can be but i absolutely loved this one!!

bennett is 24 years old and has had the biggest crush on his sisters best friend bower who’s 32 years old. the yearning on this man was so freakin’ cute to read omg! i was kicking my feet and giggling at how much he was in love with her. the spicy scenes were hot as hell and the healthy communication with bennett and bower was refreshing. i bounced back forth with the ALC and eARC and had the best time reading/listening.

all my romcom lovers this is a must add to your tbr’s!! thank you to meghan and her team for sending me the ARC 💕

Omg, I loved Bennett & Bowers’ story so much!! I was lucky enough to receive the ALC for this one, and it was absolute perfection. The full cast did an incredible job bringing the characters to life, and it made this rom com even funnier.

One thing I can always count on with a Meghan Quinn book is laughing out loud. I absolutely loved the age-gap romance, and Bennett completely stole my heart. He was so sweet, adorable, and impossible not to love. I’m also really glad I listened to this one because it’s another long book.

Cheers to another Meghan Quinn summer! Absolutely LOVED Bennett and Bower! Sister’s best friend? Yes, please! He’s been in love with her since he was 16? So stinkin’ adorable! The banter all throughout the book had me kicking my feet! The yearning?! Oh Bennett, I love you!

Bower, a self proclaimed romance book lover — absolutely loved that about her! She was fully herself and never held back her personality.

The both of them together? Beautiful! Also, love does not know age! Loved the age gap trope!

The audiobook was amazing, as always, Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton nailed it! The entire cast nailed it!

At this point, picking up a Meghan Quinn novel has become less about wondering if I'll enjoy it and more about wondering where it'll rank among her others.

I've reached the point where if Meghan Quinn announces a new release, I'm reading it. The only question is whether it'll join the top tier of her catalog or simply remind me why she's become one of my favorite romance authors.

Just for the Plot was a definite improvement over Just for the Cameras, which I already loved. But having a book club woven into the story made this one feel even more personal to me. It was impossible not to smile every time the characters gathered to talk about books.

The "he fell first" and sister's-best-friend tropes worked incredibly well together. I completely bought into Bennett and Bower as a couple, and Quinn made their chemistry feel effortless from the very beginning.

My biggest frustration was Bower herself. More than once she pulled the "I'm in... no, I'm out" routine, and after a while it felt like she was playing with Bennett's emotions a little more than I was comfortable with. The conflict made sense, but I found myself wanting her to stop second-guessing what was right in front of her.

Thankfully, Quinn sticks the landing. The ending felt earned, satisfying, and true to the characters.

While I really enjoyed this one, I don't think it reaches the heights of Till Summer Do Us Part or Rules for the Summer, which are still my favorite Meghan Quinn novels.

If there's one thing Meghan Quinn consistently nails, it's creating characters you actually want to spend time with.

Bennett is everything you'd want in a romantic lead. A professional baseball player who unexpectedly falls in love with reading and treats the woman he loves like an absolute princess? It's not exactly hard to see why readers fall for him.

Then there's Bower. A confident, successful woman who's eight years older than Bennett and has enough fire to keep him on his toes. I might be a little biased, but I've always had a soft spot for an older woman. I know a little something about that myself.

Beyond the romance, Quinn continues to prove that she's one of the best at building a recurring cast. Seeing familiar faces like the Gladdy Daddies, Graydon, and O.C. always feels like catching up with old friends, and she even introduces a few new personalities that fit right into the group.

The supporting cast is one of the biggest reasons these books are so much fun to read. They make every novel feel like you're returning to a community instead of simply starting another romance.

If there's one thing Meghan Quinn has figured out, it's pacing.

Just for the Plot comes in at well over 500 pages, but you'd hardly know it. The chapters fly by, the dialogue is consistently entertaining, and every interaction between Bennett and Bower makes you want to keep reading just one more chapter.

Quinn has a real talent for balancing humor, romance, emotional moments, and spice in a way that keeps the story moving. At no point did this novel feel bloated or unnecessarily stretched, which is impressive considering its length.

By the time I finished, it felt less like I'd read a 500-page novel and more like I'd spent a day hanging out with characters I genuinely enjoyed.

First, I have to say thank you to Meghan Quinn for the opportunity to listen to an advanced listener copy of this audiobook. It was an absolute pleasure.

At this point, you know exactly what you're getting with a Meghan Quinn novel, and I mean that as the highest compliment. She has such a distinct voice that the humor, flirtation, emotional moments, and laugh-out-loud banter all feel unmistakably hers.

The dialogue is where Quinn shines brightest. Bennett and Bower's conversations never feel forced, and the chemistry between them jumps off the page from their very first interaction.

The audiobook only elevates that experience.

Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor have fantastic chemistry together, making every flirtatious exchange and emotional conversation feel completely believable. Their performances complement each other perfectly, and when the full supporting cast joins in, the entire story comes alive.

This wasn't just a great audiobook. It was the kind of production that reminds me why I love immersive listening in the first place.

🥃 On the Rocks

At this point, Meghan Quinn has become one of those automatic-read authors for me.

It honestly doesn't matter what she writes. If her name is on the cover, I'm going to read it.

Just for the Plot may not have reached the heights of Till Summer Do Us Part or Rules for the Summer, but it reminded me why I continue coming back to her stories. They're funny, romantic, heartfelt, and filled with characters I enjoy spending time with.

By the final chapter, I wasn't just satisfied with Bennett and Bower's story. I was already wondering who would take center stage in Book Three.

That's the sign of a series that's doing something right.

If you're already a Meghan Quinn fan, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you've never picked up one of her books before, this series continues to prove why she's become one of the biggest names in romantic comedy.

Thank you so much Meghan Quinn for sending me this ARC!

Just For the Plot is the second book is a series of interconnected standalone Sports Romance books from one of my favorite authors and Meghan never disappoints, I had so much fun with this book and loved Bower and Bennett’s story!

Bennett has been crushing on his friend, Bower, for years, so when she moves into his apartment building, he thinks it’s finally time to make his move. Bower has always seen Bennett as her best friend’s little brother, but he has changed a lot since she last saw him and she can’t help but notice the man he is now, but caught between the promise she made to her friend and her growing, forbidden feelings, she tries to resist him, so he makes a plan to woo her.

This book was amazing and I had a lot of fun from literally first page, Bower and Bennett were incredible and I quickly fell for them and was rooting for them so much. Bennett was such a green flag, kind, caring, supportive and willing to do anything for her, he fell first and hard and the way he was pining for Bower was amazing to read about, seriously, there was a lot of pining and their relationship was definitely a slow burn but it was so worth the wait. And the way he was trying to get her to see him differently and the advice he took from his friends and the plans they all made led to some hilarious situations that had me laughing out loud, he was so down bad for her and I loved it. Bower was also a great FMC, she was really loyal and scared to give into her growing feelings and while I understood that, I was screaming at her in my head to just give in and be with him, they made such an amazing couple and I loved them together, their relationship, both as friends and then as more, was so beautiful and they were perfect together. And as always with Meghan’s books, the spicy scenes were *chief’s kiss* and had me blushing at times, these two were fire together. And I loved that they read romance books together and the bookclub idea, it made this story even more perfect. And of course I loved seeing Graydon and Maple again and all the other characters we got to meet, they are amazing and I hope we will get many more books about them.

Just For the Plot is an amazing romance book, I loved it so much and recommend it to everyone, I already can’t wait for Meghan’s next book.

Oh. My goodness. I don’t know if I have ever. And I mean ever. Rooted for two people harder than I rooted for Bennett and Bower.

I am very fortunate that I got to experience this book by immersive reading. Switching between the book and the audio, I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better way to experience this book. Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Bentmore didn’t just narrate the book. They felt like Bennett and Bower. Their performance brought every laugh, every stolen moment, and every emotion that you could have felt through this book for life. There were so many times that I forgot I was listening and was picturing it as a movie in my mind. I was so invested in these characters.

One thing that I absolutely love is the reverse age gap. We did not see that enough and Meghan did so good with this. Bennett longtime crush having hooked from page one. Batman is so patient and kind and endlessly supported her and always put her first. And then getting to watch Bower s slowly realize that she is falling for him. And it crushed my heart, but I also loved it.

If there is one thing that I love about a Meghan Quinn book is the humor. I don’t know how she came up with Nolan and OC (okay like 99% of her characters), but they stole every moment for me when they were in the scene. Those two better have their own book. OK! I would really like it. Ha. The friendships between the guys are hilarious and perfect. Straight chaos but perfect.

This book just left me so excited to see them in the next book because I loved them so incredibly much. I also cannot wait to see the artwork for these scenes. Because she had so many good moments for art artwork.

If you want a good laugh and you want some romance too, this will deliver that. You need to go add this to your TBR now because you will not be disappointed.

What to Expect:

⚾️Reverse Age Gap

THANK YOU SO MUCH MEGHAN AND HAMBRIGHT!!! Thank you for letting me read and listen to this book. I LOVED it so much. I spent so much time laughing while reading this book. I can’t wait to put this book on my bookshelf!

This was another fun Meghan Quinn book set in her San Francisco universe, so we got lots of crossover characters from all her previous series. It's sometimes a little hard to keep track of how they're all connected, but here we have Bower (given my youngest's Mario obsession, I read her name as Bowser the entire time), who was Gabby's best friend in the Almond Bay series, and Gabby's little brother, Bennett, who's now a professional baseball player and part of the Bay Area sports teams PR campaign featured in Just For the Cameras.

Bennett has been in love with Bower, 8 years his senior, since he was a 16 year old foster kid trying to make ends meet with his sister. As Gabby's best friend, Bower made her a promise to always protect him and essentially helped her raise him, so she was almost an aunt-like figure, which made the dynamic a little icky for me. Now 24 to her 32, he sets forth an ill advised plan with the help of his ridiculous teammates and group chat buddies to show her that he's not a boy anymore.

Listen, I'm the last one who's going to advise against getting you a younger man who likes to read with you, but I had a hard time getting on board with their relationship given their background. Bennett was relentless in his pursuit, but I was happy to see that at least Bower agonized over it, given the seriousness of what she was doing to her best friend.

Her personality definitely changed over the course of the book, initially portrayed as slightly kooky with no filter, but she showed more depth towards the end. The men were OTT ridiculous, with flamboyant Nolan giving drama queen OC a run for his money, but they added the silly comic relief her books are known for. Bennett was much more grounded and seemed mature for his years, but overall was just too young a MMC for me to really want to read about.

This was another long one, but the pacing felt quicker than some of the others that tend to drag in the middle. I'm hoping the next in the series is about OC and Gretchen, who will surely eat him alive, and I am here for that.

Can you really call it summer if there isn't a new Meghan Quinn rom-com?

This was everything I wanted from a Meghan Quinn summer release. Funny, flirty, ridiculously entertaining, & impossible to stop listening to. Add in friends to lovers, sister's best friend, a reverse age gap, baseball, & one man who has been quietly down bad for years, & I was completely sold.

Bennett absolutely stole my heart. He is patient, thoughtful, completely gone for Bower, & the kind of book boyfriend who makes you wonder why fictional men keep setting the bar so high. I loved that their relationship was built on years of friendship because it made every moment between them feel earned. The slow burn was so worth it, & once the romance finally took off, the chemistry was undeniable.

And then there are the side characters. Meghan Quinn always creates the kind of friend group you wish you could be part of, & the Gladdy Daddies were just as chaotic & hilarious as in the first book. Between the group chats & all the ridiculous antics, I found myself laughing out loud more than once.

I listened to the audiobook, & it was phenomenal. Samantha Brentmoor & Teddy Hamilton were the perfect Bower & Bennett, bringing so much personality, emotion, & chemistry to every scene. The full cast only made the experience better, making it feel immersive from beginning to end. I love when a series has consistent narrators & getting to hear Connor Crais & Emma Wilder return as Graydon & Maple was a highlight for me. If you're an audiobook listener, this is absolutely the way to experience this story.

Meghan Quinn has become one of those automatic-read authors for me because she consistently delivers romances that make me laugh, swoon, & completely lose track of time. Just for the Plot was no exception, & it was exactly the summer rom-com I was hoping for.

First and foremost, thank you to Meghan Quinn and Good Girls PR for the ARC & ALC. 💕 It was such a privilege to read and listen early!

If Meghan Quinn writes it…I’m reading it. Period.

This woman could write the back of a cereal box and I’d probably laugh out loud. 😂 Her humor, banter, and one-liners are unmatched, and Just for the Plot reminded me exactly why she’s one of my favorite comfort authors.

Bennett has quietly loved his sister’s best friend for years, and watching him patiently wait for the right moment had me kicking my feet the entire book. He’s confident, ridiculously attractive, and somehow even hotter because he’s willing to read spicy romance books just to spend time with Bower. 🥵 Their “book club of two” and that cupcake scene…omg!!

One of my favorite things about this series is how Meghan writes interconnected standalones. Usually they’re not my favorite because I feel like I’m missing something, but she somehow makes every returning character feel like an old friend instead of homework. Every Gladdy Daddy group chat had me laughing, and every Graydon cameo made me ridiculously happy. He’s my favorite 🤫

What surprised me most, though, was Bower’s journey. Underneath the chemistry, and spice is a story about finally taking a chance on yourself. As someone who’s had dreams that felt too scary to pursue, her growth really resonated with me.

“Sometimes the biggest risk isn’t failing, it’s never trying at all.”

Honestly, this book feels like a love letter to the romance community. It’s about readers, book lovers, romance recommendations, book clubs, and finding people who understand your passions. You can tell Meghan genuinely loves this community, and that shines through every page.

⭐️ Tropes I loved:
🔥 He falls first (and HARD)
📖 Romance readers & book club
👀 “Eyes on me”
💞 Age gap
🚫 Forbidden romance
🌶️ 3.5/5 spice (spicier than Just for the Cameras 😉)

Another easy five stars. Meghan Quinn remains an auto-buy author for me, and I already can’t wait to see where the Gladdy Daddies take us next. 🩷

✨ARC/ALC REVIEW✨

Might be my favorite book of the year.

Meghan Quinn knows the key to my heart - good humor, gold level banter, a hot man yearning, and steamy heated tension that'll have you MELTING. To say I was a tad obsessed with this book is severely an understatement.

If I started this earlier in the day, would have finished this in one sitting. I literally could not get enough, I couldn't put it down, and I didn't want it to end.

Maybe because this is a baseball romance, I'm not entirely sure, but I ATE this up and I absolutely fell for the pining man in the uniform that made his butt look 🔥 Bennett absolutely DELIVERED as the textbook book boyfriend. He said and did all the right things (except maybe set her up with another man!!!). He knew what he wanted and he wasn't going to stop until he got it...her.

I love that he was willing to do just about anything to get the girl he's loved for years. A man obsessed is a man we want 👏🏼😍

But we have ourselves a little predicky...he's in love with his sister's best friend...who's 8 years older than him. OH talk about a forbidden romance brewing 😩 Again. I ATE THIS SHIT UP.

Bower is an amazing FMC. I loved her personality, her flirtatiousness with life, and her loyalty to those she loves. This girl FOUGHT HARD to be a good friend. You could feel her inner turmoil radiating off the pages with what her head was telling her and what he heart wanted. But I guess when it comes to Mr. Baseball, all bets are off the table. Temptation is way too high.

This was fun and playful. It had me giddy AF. I was giggling so much. The text threads were hilarious, especially with OC, Grayson, and Nolan. I loved the drama. And girl, we even got some really heartfelt moments that had me tearing up.

I just loved everything about this book. It was exactly the book I needed and I highly highly recommend it! Especially the audio because yay full cast!

Thank you SO much to Meghan Quinn for the alc/arc copy 💕

This book was phenomenal! I loved this book even more than the first book in this series.

Meghan Quinn is my unicorn author. She sprinkles magical glitter into all of her books with her masterful storytelling. Her brand of romantic comedy is so addicting. There is the perfect balance of humor and feels. Her stories are crafted expertly. The plot was so engaging and kept me yearning for more. The characters were so well developed and relateable. The romance was genuine and compelling. I also really loved the references to her own books in this one. I was so giddy each time one was mentioned and I knew exactly which book the characters were referencing.

These characters were everything. I felt such a deep connection to them. The character development was so well crafted. I loved all the cameos of characters from the author's other books. It brought such a smile to my face. I loved the relationships between characters. The friendships were amazing. I adored the male friendships in this and the journey that came with the female friendships.

The romance in this book ticked off all the boxes for me. Everything about it was perfect. I loved the forbidden aspects in the story, as well as the close bond that the two main characters had at the start of the story. I appreciated the progression of the romance in the story. The two main characters had chemistry that shot off the page. I loved the thoughtfulness of the two main characters in relation to each other. Their entire relationship, both before and after the romance started, was so beautiful and genuine. I was completely gone for these two.

Overall, this book was the bee's knees. Everything about it is absolutely perfect. I think that this book is one of my absolute favorite Meghan Quinn books ever. I enjoyed it that much.

When someone recommends a sports romance, I have a handful of authors I always recommend, one of which is MQ and the Agitators series. This book might actually now take the lead for my new favorite MQ book ever, it was PERFECT.

I loved the dynamic so much between Bower and Bennett. Bennett is Gabbys “little brother” that she raised, and Bower is Gabbys best friend. They have been intertwined with each others lives for the past 8 years, with Bower being so loyal to her best friend she has become a great friend to Bennett, and their relationship develops over time. Bennett has had the CUTEST crush on her for the past almost decade, and even as a now famous athlete, he has eyes for no one else. When she moves into his apartment building, they have an opportunity to develop a relationship (of many layers) OUTSIDE of Gabby, and their natural progression was perfection. They had such great chemistry and banter, the slow burn of this book and the way the spice eventually played out 🔥🔥🔥 There was such fantastic character depth, pacing, found family with the other characters (the group chats with Nolan, Graydon and OC were even better than I remember), and just the maturity level of all characters involved. There was plenty of opportunities from miscommunication, especially with their age gap, her being 32 and him 24. But he was a man down bad who knew what he wanted and just how to tell her. No games. Reverse age gap isn’t a typical preference for me but with his maturity level, it didn’t feel like a major age difference.

I absolutely adored this book so much and Teddy and Samantha (along with the rest of the forecast audio) absolutely crushed it. Having the forecast made the group chat 10 times funnier and I will never ever read her books without audio because of how top-tier they deliver every time.

Tropes: Sister's best friend, reverse age gap, one bed (brief), forced proximity, baseball romance

Thank you Good Girls PR and Meghan Quinn for eARC and ALC.

At this point, if Meghan Quinn announces a new book, I'm reading it. No questions asked. She has this incredible ability to blend heartfelt romance with laugh-out-loud humor, and somehow she gets me every single time. This book was exactly what I wanted in a summer rom-com, and I absolutely devoured it.

I also listened to the audiobook while reading, and it was phenomenal. Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton were the perfect choices for Bower and Bennett. Their performances brought so much personality and chemistry to the characters. Teddy Hamilton somehow continues to surprise me with every new role, and paired with Samantha Brentmoor, they created one of my favorite audiobook experiences this year.

I have been waiting for Bower's story ever since we met her, and it completely lived up to my expectations. She is unapologetically herself, hilarious, fiercely independent, and as a fellow book lover, I adored watching her chase her dreams. Bennett completely stole my heart. Even though he's younger, he's incredibly mature, patient, and absolutely devoted to Bower. His unwavering love for her, despite the complications of her being his sister's best friend, had me smiling from beginning to end. He never wavered, and I loved how confidently he fought for their relationship.

Getting another visit to Almond Bay and seeing familiar faces from Meghan Quinn's other books made the story even more enjoyable. It felt like catching up with old friends.

Overall, this was everything I love about Meghan Quinn's writing: hilarious banter, incredible chemistry, unforgettable characters, and a romance that left me grinning from start to finish. Bennett officially set the bar impossibly high.

Thank you to Meghan Quinn for this ARC of Just for the Plot.

I was very happy to get to return to the Gladdy Daddies. I truly missed their unhinged group chat and antics. I was expecting our sweet golden retriever OC to be getting his storyline but we'll have to wait a little longer as our longing Bennett was ready to step up to the plate (get it? He plays baseball.. 😅).

Anyways! You all know I love a man who is yearning and Bennett has been yearning for his sister's best friend for 8 years. Yes. You read that right. 8. Years. Ugh I love him. From chapter 1 this man is lovesick over Bower. I was eating it up.

When Bower finds herself moving to San Francisco as she follows her boss for work, her and Bennett are in the same town and even the same apartment complex and are able to reconnect. Sparks that weren't there for Bower 8 years ago start to fly and she has to work out if these feelings are worth risking her friendship with Bennett's older sister or if she should walk away, breaking his heart and her own. Bennett won't give up that easy, though, and through showing Bower what she deserves (the world) and encouraging her to chase her dreams (opening up a bookstore van) he works to show Bower he's just the man for her.

I loved this book, I truly did. It was heartwarming, feel good, with a good amount of spice and I blazed through it in three days! Thank you again to Meghan Quinn for the ARC. Just for the Plot is out July 28th!

Quotes:

She's complimented me on my height, my muscles, my build, but handsome...that was the first. She has no clue that she just gave me a fucking truckload of hope.

**ARC & ALC Review** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This was the perfect book to get me out of my slump!!! 💛⚾ I swear this woman could write a grocery list and I’d probably still give it five stars! 😂
This book had everything I love in a MQ romance - laugh-out-loud banter, undeniable chemistry, swoony moments that had me grinning like an idiot, and characters who completely stole my heart. And let’s not forget the return of the Gladdy Daddies... because that was easily one of the best parts. 😍
The romance felt effortless, the humor landed every single time, and I found myself constantly wanting “just one more chapter”... which, of course, turned into finishing the book quicker than I thought I would! 🥰
OH! And that “couch scene”?! 📖 Yes, please! 🥵
The emotional moments were woven in perfectly, giving the story just enough emotional depth without taking away from all the fun. Watching “Benny Boo Boo” & Bower fall in love was equal parts hilarious, sweet, and just heart-melting. Their chemistry was absolute perfection, and the tension had me kicking my feet more than once. And the yeeeaarrrrrrning! 🫠
🎧 The audiobook deserves its own standing ovation! 👏 Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor absolutely nailed these characters, and the full cast brought the story to life in the best way possible. This is exactly how an audiobook should be done!!! Chef’s kiss! 🤌💋
I can’t wait for Book Three! 😍

Just For The Plot
By Meghan Quinn

Makeup, no makeup. Sweatpants or dress. She’s stunning at every angle. And tonight, under the string lights, she’s just so perfect.

And sure, it was erotic in a taboo kind of way. Dry-humping my best friend’s brother has a bit of a naughty allure to it, as if I was fulfilling some sort of fantasy I didn’t know I had.

I miss having a man lap at me, like I’m his favorite dessert. I miss being desired like this, like he can’t get enough. And I miss the feel of being taken, in the middle of the day, without a thought or a care of the time, what’s happening around us, and who could possibly disturb us.

I loved every single thing about Bennett and Bower and their story!!! If you have read and loved The Agitators Series you will love this one! The Gladdy Daddies are back and trying to help our boy Bennett get the girl, Bower, and the antics are hilarious! We have The Gladdy Daddies group chat, fantastic over the top side characters, Bennett and Bower have a book club! And there is a whole bunch of spicy scenes, yes please!! Dare I say, Meghan’s spiciest book yet?! The audiobook is a full cast with our leads being Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor and it is phenomenal! Loved my immersive read so much, all the stars to this one!!

Thank you so much Meghan and Team MQ!

ARC/ALC REVIEW - 4.5

While reading Just for the Cameras, I was hoping we’d get OC’s story next just because he was so obnoxious, but BOY did Meghan know what she was doing (duh) in giving us Bennett second. Because not only was his story SO GOOD, but getting even more of OC’s shenanigans in the Gladdy Daddies group chat as a side character was amazing!

I was obsessed with Bennett and Bower’s story from the start! Bennett was so down bad for Bower. Bower was a lot of fun and I loved getting her internal monologue and how she started to see Bennett differently, but was conflicted from her feelings. I was definitely invested with the dynamic between Bennett and Bower, and the age gap/how long they’ve been in each other’s lives! The angst between them was SO GOOD and when the spice hit, holy cow!

I’m constantly in aw of how much storytelling MQ has inside of her and how nothing she produces ever reads the same. I’m always laughing at new jokes and sides characters, and sweating at the spicy scenes!

I really loved getting to know the new characters and I’m itching for more of Nolan, Cougar, and OF COURSE OC!!

The full cast audio was phenomenal as usual! You can just tell Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor were having a time recording this. The performance and this story had me trying to finish this in one sitting!

Thank you so much to Meghan and her team for the early review copies!!

Alc review

Okay this may be one of my favorites by Meghan🥹 The way these characters were so dang sweet and wholesome. The whole cast in my ear and I felt the emotion from them. I cackled way too hard and swooned so many times, highly highly recommend listening 🤭

Bennett was such a sweetheart. I loved that we got to them growing up together and seeing their friendship grow. The reverse age gap was so perfect and I absolutely loved it started both of them young as friends. When they were apart there was that yearning from Bennett that she was always the one but knew it would never happen since it was his sister's friend and not his first😭😭😭 The way this man would do anything for her and help her achieve HER dream over doing anything himself. IM MELTING🥹

Bower was spunky and funnnn. I loved her Character and her loyalty. She promised to be there for Bennett and make sure he was happy. Girl tried everything in her power to find another man but Bennett was always there and that chemistry just SPARKED🤭 It showed she was older and felt off about being older than him, but he kept her feeling young and proved to her she was the one no matter what😭🤎 I adored her dream and her drive to make sure she got what she wanted🥹

They were hot hot hot. I was building new shelves listening to this and a few times i had to stop and just listen cause my GOSHHHHH.
The full cast was hilarious, I was cheesing so hard.🙂‍↕️

Thank you Meghan and her team for the alc🫂

Book #2 Bay Area Players series

The Gladdy Daddies are back!

I can not express how much I love Meghan Quinn and her ability to make me laugh, swoon, and kick my feet. She can always captivate me with her books. The characters and the shenanigans they get themselves into are just so fun.

Bennet has been pinning for his sister's best friend Bower since he was 16 years old. Now at 24 he is ready to make his move. Bower is moving to San Fran for work and Bennet is the only person she knows in town. These two form an even closer bond through hanging out and getting closer. I loved that they read together. These two are so cute, I love them together.

Every character is so well written and developed. They all worm their way into your heart and stick with you. The gladdy daddies and their text chain is hilarious, and when they added Maple & Nolan into the group it was even better. This series gives me that vibe/feel from what I loved so much with the agitators series. The strong friendships and developing a fantastic group of friends.

I can not recommend this book enough. If you are a fan of romantic comedies then this book is for you!

Just for the Plot is classic Meghan Quinn in all of the best ways!

It feels a lot Iike her Brentwood baseball series or Agitators hockey series. All of the chemistry, and the fun of the pro sports world, with a little less of the silliness that we’ve seen in her more recent work. OC is still around though, so there is a non-zero level of silliness. 😆

Bower moves to San Francisco for work, where her best friend’s younger brother is a professional baseball player. Bennett has always had a thing for Bower, but with the eight-year age difference, he hasn’t had the opportunity to act on his feelings before now. He’s determined to win her over with help from the Gladdy Daddies and his teammate Nolan, who totally matches OC’s freak.

I’m obsessed with Bennett. He yearns without feeling pathetic; is kind, supportive, possessive; and the some of the things he says… I was blushing! And the parallel reading? Swoon.

I also loved the Meghanverse Easter eggs and series crossover appearances.

The dramatic moment when Bennett’s sister finally finds out about their relationship was really well done. It could have been predictable and drawn out, but instead left me feeling proud of how everyone handled it!

Honestly, I’m sad it’s over. I’ll take 12 more, please!

Thanks to the author and Good Girls PR for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.

infinity freaking stars OMG

I have no idea how Meghan out does herself every single time. I loved Bower and Bennett's story so dang much, the secret pining and longing?? Bennett has been down bad for his sisters older best friend for YEARS and when she finally moves to his town he is not letting his chance pass on by.

Bower has promised her best friend she would NEVER cross that line between her brother but when she realizes he is no longer the skinny teenager and now the muscular baseball player she finds her resolve slowly slipping away. I adored how he stood TEN TOES down for Bower, and was soooo romantic and supportive of everything she wants to do. He is the most caring, loving and thoughtful man ever - ugh he even begins reading smut for Bower as they are forced to form a bookclub for his baseball teams PR image.

The audiobook narration was AMAZING, the characters truly gave this story personality and made me so hype for Nolans book (his love of breakfast burritos won me over). I cannot say anymore praises for this story as I am smiling from ear to ear wiring this review.

Thank you to Meghan for allowing me to experience this book and story early <3. Perfect for lovers of pining, secret longing, sisters older best friend, spicey romcoms, baseball players, and men who are DOWN BAD.

Just for the Plot
Bay Area Players Book Two
Written by Meghan Quinn

I will never not read a Meghan Quinn book! To be in the mind, Meghan Quinn would be quite the experience. She never lets me know with her stories. I am entertained every damn time. I get so giddy with all the crossovers ! I love their book club.

I love Bennett’s best friend Nolan. Nolan is a breath of fresh air and he made me laugh wayy to many times. I also ate up more of the unhinged group chats with Graydon and OC.

As usual, a hilariously great time. I love the dynamic between Bennett and Bower. Bower only sees Bennett as a friend and her best friend's little brother. But Bennett is so gone for Bower and will literally take anytime with her he can get. The slow burn between them was highly addictive. When the spice hit the spice hit hard. These two together are so hot.

Bennett gives me butterflies. Bower you lucky girl! I thought no one could take the top spot from Ryland but damn congrats Bennett!

Multi cast audio narrations are on point every time!

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦
I have to be honest - I was a bit hesitant to go into this book. Meghan’s books are getting longer and longer, and I really do not see a point in a romance book that is more than 300+ pages. But the story was moving fast, and I flew through it.
Both Bennett and Bower are very likable characters, and the banter between them is spot on. I loved the idea of them forming a book club 😉I found myself chuckling multiple times throughout this story.
There will be one more book in this series, and I am excited for it.

🎧 The audiobook is the way to go. It is full cast, but it’s mostly narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton. Both of them did an amazing job. I couldn’t think of better narrators for this story. Their voices changed based on the emotions in the book. I probably would not have picked up a 500+ page book in print, but the audiobook made it such an enjoyable experience

ARC Review!

Many thanks to one of my favorites, Meghan Quinn, to be able to review Just for the Plot!

Baseball, books, best friend's brother trope, and alllllll the spice...sign me up! This one was so fun and spicy, I just ate it up!

Bennett is a true golden retriever who has been in love with his sister's best friend for his entire life and when she moves to, not only his city, but his apartment building, he finally makes his move on her. After some not so great advice from his friends, things with Bower finally get hot and heavy even though she tried to fight it due to not wanting to ruin her relationship with her best friend. In the end, though, she can't fight the love she has for Bennett, and his sister can't fight either of them.

This book has such good banter between the characters and the Gladdy Daddies group chat is absolutely hysterical! I found myself laughing out loud on muliptle occasions. Plus, the chapter from Graydon is an added bonus!

Overall, this one was just hard to put down. The perfect amount of spice, love, sports and humor wrapped up into one book.

You knocked this one out of the park, Meghan! ⚾️🩷
