Their father vanished six years ago chasing something he called the Hollow Choir. Now he’s gone again — and this time, he left a warning. The Calloway siblings are about to find out their family’s secrets go back further than either of them ever knew, and one of them has been carrying the proof their whole life.
Eli was raised by his sister, Roan, after their mother died when he was six. Now he’s finally out on his own and preparing for law school when Roan suddenly shows up, asking for his help to find their missing father. Together, they set out on a quest for answers.
This book blends fast-paced adventure with mythical beings, making it an engaging read from start to finish. I especially loved watching the relationship between Eli and Roan grow throughout the story, Eli earning Roan’s respect as he steps into adulthood, and Roan learning to let him make his own decisions, shifting from a mothering role to that of a supportive sister and friend.
It’s not my usual genre, but I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
