Warrior Women #2

Anything Anytime Anywhere: A Sweet Surf Romance

Nothing says romance like salty air, stolen glances… and awkward self-defense lessons.

Billie Styles lives life at full speed—surfing waves, chasing sharks, and sketching rainbow street art across Maui. But even adventure-packed days and laughter-filled nights can’t stop her past from catching up. Stuck in Lahaina on a day she’d rather forget, Billie finds herself aboard Ryder Jax’s fishing boat, where his easy charm and saltwater wisdom make the ocean feel like home again.

From self-defense lessons to sunset swims, Ryder’s steady presence keeps pulling Billie closer, no matter how hard she fights it. In a world full of laughter, adventure, and one unforgettable Hawaiian summer, Billie’s biggest risk isn’t facing sharks—it’s letting her heart finally take the plunge.

Set against the lush backdrop of Maui, Anything, Anytime, Anywhere is a swoon-worthy closed-door romance brimming with heart, healing, and the courage to start over. So, pour yourself a cool drink, put up your feet, and start your journey with Billie and Ryder.

Erin Spineto is the mind behind Surf Kisses, a closed-door, beachy romance series packed with bold, wave-riding women with type 1 diabetes who juggle perfect waves, swoony surfers, and the kind of wild ocean adventures that make for the best stories.

A lifelong adventurer and type 1 diabetes advocate, Erin has spent the last three decades ignoring perfectly reasonable medical advice by tackling thrilling endurance expeditions like a solo 100-mile sail through the Florida Keys and team swims and paddle expeditions with other delightfully stubborn T1D athletes who also believe “boring” is a far scarier diagnosis than diabetes.

When she isn’t writing her next swoony surfing love story, Erin has a love affair with empty beaches, warm water, and a post-surf lunch of fish tacos and Diet Dr Pepper on a sun-drenched patio with her own real life hero, Tony, and their two surfing children.

Such a unique read! Maui has a huge place in my heart, so I was excited to pick up a romance novel with that setting. At times this story was sweet and lighthearted, but it also brought a very deep and complex plot that tackled the reality of PTSD. This is about a woman’s journey to healing and starting over with a love that’s too strong to deny.

Billie Styles lives what most would consider to be a dream…spending her days surfing and enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian sands. She’s a fairly well-known artist who has a significant following on Instagram. From the outside, her life may seem like sunshine and rainbows, but on the inside, she’s grappling with quite a bit of trauma. When her boyfriend and cop, JJ, puts her in a very dangerous situation involving drug lords, Billie’s whole world comes tumbling down around her. She flees the island without letting anyone know where she’s headed.

Billie’s good friend Ryder is consistently by her side and is determined to get Billie back to Maui. Romantic feelings between the two have been brewing in the background for quite some time and Ryder’s calm, caring and considerate personality might just be what Billie has always needed – but then…there’s JJ.

I LOVED all the nods to Dawson’s Creek in this story! That was a fun surprise. I also want to say that this book has fantastic Type 1 Diabetes rep through Billie’s character. The topic is brought up often enough to provide awareness of the disease and what life is like for those living with it, but not overly done to the point where it takes away from the overall plot.

4-Star clean rating for a fair amount of mild curse words. A lot of d*mns, h*lls and a few sh*ts.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I’m so, so happy I found this book. I stumbled across a post by the author on IG via the #cleanbookrevolution hashtag. Ever since I saw the synopsis, I couldn’t wait to read it. The Hawaii Five-0 comparisons were just too good to pass up 😉

You can read the synopsis for yourself but I’ll give a one sentence summary: It’s a no-spice romance and the characters are reflective of cool, caring, and protective ones you’d find in Hawaii Five-0.

The construction of this book feels unique. It feels like there are two separate climaxes, like you get two books in one.

The pacing was excellent. There is a lot of ground covered in this book- PTS, diabetes, grief, and even discussion of Celiac disease. Some might say it tries to do too much, but I thought it kept the pacing up. I’d rather have a lot to think about than too little. I never really felt like there were slow sections. Despite all subject matter, it didn’t feel bogged down or depressing. Just reflective of messy, everyday people trying to figure things out.

The alternate viewpoints was a great choice. We learn the majority about our characters pretty early, but the hows/whys of their motivations are more slowly revealed, which I liked.

No smut romance. Kissing only.
There is language throughout.

Overall, this book is such a vibe. Chill, beachy vibes, found family, and a full exploration of messy human lives and emotions. I read this out of series order and can’t wait to go back and read California Promises.

Give this book a try- I think it’ll be worth your time!

Billie, Ryder, and the beauty of Maui pull you into this page turner right from the beginning. Whether you’ve ever set foot on the beaches of Hawaii yourself or not, it will feel like home in this easy to read adventure. Anything Anytime Anywhere takes you on an intensely personal journey typically reserved for male characters in other books. Seeing this journey unfold from a woman’s point of view was a unique perspective I’ve not witnessed before.

This was a great friends to lovers romance. It also had a bit of an action packed semi thriller aspect to it which moved the plot along in a fun way! The main character is a type 1 diabetic like me and when she went off the grid it was so interesting to me! In the past I’ve thought about how I wouldn’t survive a zombie apocalypse with my diabetes because my need for insulin and supplies and while that’s bit extremist🤣, I have thought about how I couldn’t really go off the grid with diabetes so it was so interesting to read who she handled it. This was definitely different than a typical romance but it still had all the great aspects of a romance, just with a bit more excitement!

Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced copy. 4.5 rounded up
