Sarah Madeline lives for small town romances. Swoon worthy, tension filled moments. Slow burn and meet cringes. She fills her pages with laughter, tears, farm animals, and happily ever afters.
She lives in small town Pennsylvania with her miniature dachshund, cat, and eighteen chickens. Hopefully adding some goats to her family soon. When she's not writing, you can find her reading in front of a warm fire, fishing, baking, or gardening.
4.5 ⭐ ARC Review - If you're looking for a cozy, fall small town romance, I highly recommend this one! Honestly, this whole series ☺️
🐈⬛ For Fans of: - contemporary romance - small town - second chance - fall vibes - sweet romance - he would do anything for her - dual POV
✏️ Spoiler-Free ARC Review He’s a wanderer and she has abandonment issues so there’s no way they can be anything more than friends after he already left her once… right? And being in a small town, there’s no way that if they work together on all the fall events together anyone would meddle, of course not! 👀
This book was so cute. It’s a sweet romance and you can immediately tell that these two have a history but also such a comfortable chemistry that it just feels right. Their conversations are witty and he’s totally head over heels for her, so it was just so cute to watch them try to play it cool and start over.
I also LOVED the Twilight references and seeing the recurring characters of the small town sprinkled throughout the story. As someone who fell in love with Constance, the town busybody, I’ve loved to watch her character arc and watch her grow into a beloved character.
As the last book in the series, it was bittersweet. On one hand, this book was so cozy and swoony in the cutest of ways but on the other hand, I just never want to leave this town with all its odd characters and beautifully paired couples…and chickens!
I can’t wait to read what Sarah Madeline has next in store for us!
🖤 Thank you to author Sarah Madeline for the digital advanced reader copy (ARC). As always, my reviews are honest, my own, and voluntary!
📚 Book: A Spooky Reunion by Sarah Madeline 📚 Series: Thornwood Valley #4 📅 Release Date: November 13, 2026 ⭐ Rating: 4.5 out of 5
A BIG thank you to Sarah Madeline for letting me read this adorable story! 🫶✨
Best friends to lovers again, second-chance romance, fall vibes, and small-town charm?! YES, PLEASE! 😍🍂 This was such a cute, quirky little story, and I absolutely loved it! The vibes were everything, and the humor had me laughing! But those chickens?! 🤣🤣🤣🐔 They stole the show!
A Spooky Reunion by Sarah Madeline is everything I hoped for and more from her Thornwood Valley series. Sarah has a way of making you fall in love with characters that feel so very real, it hurts turning the last page. As this is the last book, I expected to be emotional, but Sarah took it a step further and gave us some special insights into other characters (even side ones!) whose lives I cared about books ago and was so happy to have answers for. She is phenomenal at crafting true-to-life loves and setting the scene for all of you who adore Hallmark, Gilmore Girls, and well-earned HEAs. Sarah Madeline is an instant-read for me, and A Spooky Reunion was no different. This is the first book that I struggled to like the MMC at first, and Sarah said that was expected (lol!). As the book went on, it became painfully evident why Clay was the way he was, and it was so very easy to fall in love with him and Daisy. From the start, Dais is a breath of fresh air: funny, charming, and nonchalant. She is the type of chill you wish you could be in life and it makes her and Clay’s relationship even more earned. There were many times I was like “Daisy… are you REALLY OKAY?!?” Sarah had me hoping until the very end that we’d get what we came for : an ending where love wins. And I think she delivered the whole package, stuffed full of chocolate chip muffins, pumpkin spice lattes, chicken chaos, and haunted sights. 5/5 ⭐️s and a bittersweet ending to a series that has had my heart from the beginning.
4/5 ⭐️ 1/5 🌶️ (very little spice, its all about the second chance love in this story)
This was such a cute, cozy, “spooky”-season read! 🧡 I absolutely loved the banter and the flirting between Clay and Daisy in this book!
It was a perfect mix of small-town vibes, holiday celebrations, romance, humor, and just enough spooky fun to make it a great fall read. I loved the cozy atmosphere and the way the story brings people back together.🍂
The characters were fun to follow, and I especially enjoyed the chemistry and playful moments throughout the story. It’s the kind of book you can curl up with on a chilly evening (although it’s hot here), grab your favorite drink, and just enjoy. ☕️📖.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted fall romance with spooky-season vibes, definitely add this one to your TBR! 🎃🧡 Make sure you check this one out when it’s released on November 13th!!
ARC Reader Review: This book was a attention grabbing, fun filled fall read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading both Daisy and Clay's points of view throughout the story. The plot was interesting and left you guessing how the story was going to end. It definitely had small town vibes filled with a realistic storyline that many people could relate to from their own lives. It had great banter and conversation among the characters and there were interesting supporting characters throughout. I thought it was well written and kept me engaged. I also really enjoyed the fun spooky moments throughout the story that left you guessing what was happening. Plus, there were chickens in the book and as a chicken owner I love a good chicken related book.
A Spooky Reunion is a heartfelt small town romcom with whimsical autumn vibes, charming characters, and most importantly, chickens. This town is so whimsical that part of their harvest festival includes a chicken costume contest (LOVE!!) and left me craving coffee, chocolate chip muffins and apple cider donuts. It was easy to root for Daisy and Clay. Their second chance grumpy x sunshine romance was so sweet, and I loved Daisy’s black cat Morticia! I think it would be really fun to have a Morticia POV one day about ghost hunting.
I loved this conclusion to the Thornwood Valley series, and can’t wait to see what Sarah Madeline writes next! Thanks so much to Sarah Madeline for an advanced copy of this book!
Another Sarah Madeline book, and I’m SO excited to be reviewing another book for her! There’s something so special about finding an author whose books you genuinely love and getting to keep coming back for more. I’m always excited to dive into another story from an author I already know and love, and I can’t wait to see what this one has in store. The stinking chicken costume contest….. here for it!!

I really enjoyed Daisy and clays story, but I also loved all the little extras thrown into the story, like the chickens and the small town gossip! They added so much fun and kept things interesting throughout the book.

I found it an extremely cute Autumn read, it really made me feel super cosy. The characters were all very likeable even the town gossip. It did give Gilmore girls vibes which I loved! If you like small town contemporary romances then you will love this!
