Dragonkin
Kanaahn, Arial, Arkas, Shooter, and Drakhart have been friends for years. In the harsh criminal landscape of the town of Kula, they’ve had to grow up fast, but they’ve pulled through by sticking together. Yet lately, a rift has grown between Drakhart and Kanaahn. Drakhart feels unheard, pushed aside by the group’s self-appointed leader. Kanaahn can’t understand why Drakhart has been lashing out and withdrawing from their friends.
Then Kanaahn finds five dragon eggs in a cave outside town. In one fateful hatching, these young vigilantes become the fabled Khaleeshir—humans bonded to dragons and entrusted with great magical abilities, guardians of man and dragon alike. They are also harbouring the most-hunted creatures in the entire country of Altimara.
The five friends must travel across a vast desert, train with a hidden dragon council, and delve into ancient magic to learn their destiny and prepare to face the greatest threat to the continent of Enayra in a thousand years: Tenebrae, the human-despising black dragon who perfected the forbidden Blood Magic. No one can be trusted. Every choice they make is a strain on their already endangered friendship. The further they dig, the closer they get to losing each other.

That is to say that all of these works have inspired and stuck with me throughout the years, and have allowed me to understand the kinds of stories I want to tell, and want to see told in literature.
When I first started working on the Chronicles of Enayra series on March 3rd, 2011, late into my 10th grade year, I never thought it would set me on the path to self-publishing as an Indie author. The first novel, then called “A New Legend” and the series called “Dragon Warriors”, was originally published on WattPad. It was a book I constantly rewrote and reworked over the years, until finally, almost a full decade later, I self-published through Amazon KDP, in January of 2021.
I seek to tell stories rooted in human history and experience, and the human condition. The greatest thing I can accomplish is to teach a reader something–anything–and to touch their soul with my work.
When I am not writing, I am often found at home with my wonderful, supportive, wife, my two dogs Bella (Cane Corso), Uno (Walker Hound), and cat, Mona. I spend my free time hiking, playing videos games, enjoying cigars, cooking delicious meals, reading, or watching the anime of combat sports (pro-wrestling).
The highest compliment anyone can give is an honest review of my work!

Accardi has developed an intricate, detailed background and world for his book series, and his thoughtfulness and attention to every detail is apparent in the book.
His scenes are very visually-descriptive, like painting portraits in but a few words. His dragon lore seems to be derived from a mixture of ASOIF and D&D, with a few personal touches to make it unique. His magic is a little under-developed, but still fun to read.
The book needs a little more depth in plot and character development, however. The major conflict between the characters seemed a little contrived, and the main characters didn't face many tasks or conflicts with any consequences - it was just training and becoming dragon riders.
The climax of the book is appropriately epic, yet leaves enough ambiguity for sequels, which I'm looking forward to checking out!

I got this book courtesy of Voracious Readers Only.
I started this book not expecting it to be a series, that was my mistake. However, for it only being the first book in a series it has an equal balance of back story and great adventure. The writer put amazing detail and imagery into a lot of the scenes. The storyline is easy to follow and you can even get ahead with some easy guesswork, but overall I really enjoyed how intrigued I was with the storyline.
Fantasy readers know the basics of dragons, but this author obviously did some research to make the story feel like it could be more real. I loved the detail the author put into describing the dragons, it helped expand my knowledge immensely.

This book is a great... scratch that, a phenomenal read; the storyline will make you want to keep reading and wanting more after you finish. I highly recommend this book. If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, Eragon, fiction, fantasy, and dragons: read this book. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
I typically don’t read indie authors, but, I am so glad I took a chance on this book. I was not disappointed.
I hope to see more books from this author because I have to find out what happens next.

For a debut novel, I was very impressed with this book. Admittedly, it did help that it took me back to my earlier years of playing D&D/AD&D, so I thank the author for that. My thoughts on the book echo what other reviewers have said. I really enjoyed the richness of the personalities of the various party members, and I especially liked the detailed dragonlore. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series. I received a copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only for an honest review.

I was given a free copy of this book from the author through voracious readers only in exchange for an honest review. This book was very well done. If you like a book about dragons and humans fighting together in battles you will enjoy this book. The story was well done and I loved the fighting scenes the most. I really enjoyed the dragon lore and history of magic that was put into the book. Also the fact that there was different kinds of magic was also cool and unique. My only issue with the book was I wish the issues with the one bad friend had been figured out sooner than it had. Other then that the book was good!

This was such an interesting fantasy world the author has created!
It has the same sort of vibe as a lot of fantasy worlds - a medieval type setting, magic and a chosen one hero (or in this case 5 chosen ones!)
I liked that the heroes all had their own niche within their group, they each have a skill or purpose.
While I enjoyed the story, the writing reminded me of fan fiction - needs polishing, and sometimes the wording of things is a little...odd. The story could also use another edit.
For example: 'It was a way of life for him and his friends, most of whom were also in need of the magical unicorn known as "gold".'
While I understand what the author was wanting to say - that gold is difficult to come by and is the way of life in their town, I found that describing it as a 'magical unicorn' was a strange way to describe it.
There were other examples, but I forgot to note them as I was reading.
Overall: I enjoyed the story, though I found the writing to be lacking - a little polishing and perhaps a change in wording here and there.

Loved how each character was real, flaws and all. The descriptive writing took me there. If I had of shut my eyes, when I opened them I would of expected to be in the scene....sight , sound and smells. The emotions of the characters and their reactions/responses, with their character growth, took me back to my youth. (Which was very many moons ago). Love History and Background, so thoroughly enjoyed that too. Story had a good pace to it also.

September 24, 2022This has everything you want from a fantasy book - dragons good and evil, heroes villains, great battles and romantic tension. The friends that split over power but it leaves you on a lot of questions but not a huge cliffhanger

A solid beginning to what looks like an epic fantasy that I hope to see stretch many novels. All of the personality packed into these characters has me crying or laughing at their antics.

Wonderful book, the characters were fabulous I didn't have a favourite really they were all great in their own ways. The dragon lore was excellent I do love things regarding dragons and I love the different ways people come up with what they were out did and this book is no exception. I loved the names of them too nothing silly or too complex. I like the style of this book and the descriptions were nice and detailed.
I would definitely recommend and will read the others when they are done. Over all a very enjoyable read that was not complicated at all.
