LONDON CALLING is a full-length, standalone, BWWM, New Adult contemporary romance. It contains adult themes intended for mature readers.
Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.
That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

Whoo boy was Xander fun to write! I must admit the two of us fought a bit about how to write this book, but I finally had to let him do his thing! Straight out of the gate, Xander knew what he wanted and exactly how to get it.
His story has been a long time coming and I'm so excited to share it with you! And of course Abena and Alexi make an appearance.
So grab a glass of wine and B.O.B. and come and meet your next book boyfriend!!
**** I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. I was not paid for my review ****
I am very familiar with this author’s work and have enjoyed many of her books. This is Xander and Imani’s story. If you did not read book 1 London Bound then to get the full picture of the brothers and their stories you should read book 1 first which is going for 99 cents currently. Book 2 can be read as a standalone!
Xander and Imani both have their secrets and both have been damaged and hurt by actions of others in their past which makes it difficult for them to truly trust and give themselves fully to each other. Xander takes Imani with him on his journey of seeking revenge on someone who hurt him in his past and on this journey they find love.
The book had me from the first paragraph. The story was compelling and riveting, a real page turner. The book deals with trust, love, secrets, hate, revenge and love.
I would highly recommend this book as an excellent read!
Audible review title:“Another sexy and entertaining Chase Bros. story!”
★¸¸.•*¨*•★Unabridged Audiobook Info★•*¨*•.¸¸★ Narrated by: Graham Halstead Length: 8 hrs and 37 mins Release Date: 06-06-16 Publisher: Nana Malone Writing style: Third Person POV Cover love: I totally dig the cool London scenery at the bottom that ties in with the book’s title. The cover has a great color palette with the yellow and purple dominating nicely. The Xander cover model is very attractive, and I like that he seems amused. Ratings Overall: 4.25 stars | Graham's Performance: 4.5 stars | Story: 4 stars
•*¨*• What made the experience of listening to London Calling the most enjoyable? I like that narrator Graham was less high pitched on this narration than he was on Filthy English written by Ilsa Madden-Mills. I'd rate his performance 4.5 stars this time, bravo!
Who was your favorite character and why? Xander because he has the most character growth in my opinion.
What about Graham Halstead’s performance did you like? He chose good accents for all of the characters and handled narrating both males and females really well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry? There were quite a few humorous moments.
Any additional comments? I'll definitely reread this one someday. And I will also keep my eye out for more novels written by Nana Malone and for more novels narrated by Graham Halstead.
This book can be read as a stand alone, but to get a more complete picture of brothers Xander and Lex' s history, you should also read London Bound.
Xander and Imani meet due to Imani doing research for a part in a play, and needing money to pay a debt. There was instant attraction. Not the"OMG, I am instantly in love" attraction, but a strong physical attraction, along with being intrigued by each other's personality.
They spend a week in Paris with Imani pretending to be Xander' s significant other. Both have past hurts they are confronting in different ways. The relationship blossoms and neither are quite sure how to handle it. Xander is determined to go through with the plot for revenge he had planned. It's his driving force, but will it bring the satisfaction he believes it will? Imani is struggling with holding on to her independence, keeping her secret, dealing with an ex, and taking care of her family.
Xandere and Imani have a strong passion. Nana Malone writes this story so that you are not just reading it, you are feeling it. Xander' s pain and uncertainty; Imani' s need for control and independence, and the insecurities they both have are almost palpable. Their love for their families is strong. I love Imani's humor and sarcasm and the effect it has on Xander.
I won't say anymore because I don't want to give anything away. I definitely recommend this book. As I stated before, you will probably enjoy it more if you read London Bound, but you can read them in any order.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love Nana Malone's work, so this was no hardship on my part
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I read London Bound (which is the first in the series and LOVED IT) and couldn't wait for Xander's story! You could read this as a stand alone but I feel you would get more out of it if you read London Bound first.
In this book there was a bit of everything, troubled pasts, revenge, healing and of course a hot steamy romance! I was laughing, crying and yelling. I loved the characters in this book, they were so easy to connect to! Xander is infuriating but in the best possible way. Imani is a bad a$$ chick who has her own demons to battle and together they are PERFECT! Not only did we get these two fabulous characters but also some of the characters from London Bound. It was a fabulous read! I was sad when the book was over, I want more! I wish there was another brother to read about!!!
I was giving this book as an ARC for an honest review.
Let me start off by saying that the author did her thing with this book. The book had me from the first to the last page. It is super hot and sexy because Xander is such a dirty boy and I loved his journey on finding and falling in love. His backstory torn my heart in two. But Imani was just the woman for him. She is strong and independent didn't put up with is stuff even with her past she started to open to him. This couple was made for each other. The sex scenes was sizzling just simply fire!!! When you read this book you will find out that people really should mess with Xander and the ones he loves. He doesn't play. Sometimes revenge can be so sweet. Must put this book on your to read list as well as London Bound Book 1 about Alexi and Abbie. Happy reading!!!!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. What can I say about Xander Chase? He's smart, He's British, and He's Hot! I am formally announcing right now that I am quitting my job & moving to London immediately in search of a real life Chase brother. Xander's story was so intriguing that I had to go back & read about Lex. I love that Xander & Imani were both vulnerable & how love helped two people become stronger. This book has all the classic sass & snark that I have come to love about Nana Malone's writing. I love how Xander & Imani protect each other. London Calling is a great standalone read, but my advice is to go back and read London Bound as well. The Chase brothers are a yummy as book boyfriends come. Cheers!
OMG!!!!! This book will capture your attention throughout the entire book & has the potential to stand alone. Revenge at its best. Xander had thought he was in love with his brothers girlfriend, but in reality it was a brotherly love. He meet Imani and his whole is turned upside down. At their first meeting she runs from him, but they cross paths again and he propositions her. Considering she is in a bind she accepts. Xander is on a mission to take done the one person who helped destroy his childhood. Imani makes xander want more. Before he can do that he must face his past.
I love Xander with the first book. He was a bit of a he knows best but this one puts it all into perspective. For this Chase brother pussy came easy. He was finer than a bottle of wine and had the broodiness to go with it. His passion came through in he art, photography.
Imani had the chance of a lifetime and with it came a past she did not want to have opened. Her meeting Xander opened her up to so much. Imani was a light that came on for Xander. I loved following the growing romance. The background noises going on in both their lives made a big appearance and for some it turned out good and other well lets just say you need to read it.
These two had passion, chemistry, and able to communicate about most things. As you know something happens to take all that away. Leaving one working to gain the others trust again.
As soon as I read the last pages of London Bound about Alexi and Abena's romance, I wanted to read Xander’s story right then and there. What type of woman would the complicated man end up with?
Imani was a perfect match for Xander. Someone confident who took no nonsense and knew how to handle both herself and him. Their attraction still has me smiling.
The thing I liked most was the depth of the romance. Onion layers were peeled while reading it and it progressed smoothly with all facets of emotions getting involved.
A wonderful series that I hope doesn’t end. There are some characters that I’d really like to see get hooked up.
Xander and Imani make a great couple. Both are dealing with tragedies from their past. They find comfort, strength and love within each other. They are supportive of each other; Imani helps Xander out with his need of revenge against Alistair and Xander supports Imani's career and assist her with family drama.
I was glad that the storyline incorporated some of Abbie and Lex storyline and Evan finally got some of what he deserved as well as Alistair. Although I don't thin Ryan got what he was due. I thought the part of the storyline was lacking.
It took me a minute to get into the story. Once Imani stepped in the picture I was moved. This was a great story line. It touched on abuse, alcoholism, sexual assault, revenge, and more. This blew Abby and Alexi's story out of the water. In there story, I couldn't feel the love between the two, in this one it was real. It was about two beings coming together under a ruse, but end up falling in love. This was perfect.
Talented photographer Alexander Chase doesn't have to work much to get laid. But he does have to work very hard to cross the finish line... Until her. He is handsome, rich, successful and bent on getting revenge for the crimes committed against him and his brothers. To achieve his goal, he will stop at nothing... Struggling actress, Imani Brooks has been offered the role of a lifetime. Dedicated to her art, she decides to learn about the role in depth. What she didn't expect was to face her indiscretion the very next day... When the need to support her family becomes stronger than her need to keep her dignity, Imani accepts a different role, one that quickly escalates into more. Falling for a man like Xander wasn't what Imani wanted. She was playing a role after all, but he soon becomes everything to her. Xander didn't think he was capable of love, not after the betrayals he had suffered, but falling for Imani happened before he could think of it. He needs her with him, now he just needs to figure out how to keep her for real. A one night stand that turns into so much more is what London Calling is all about. It is passionate and sexy while dealing with issues of rape and abuse.
I seriously need the epilogues with these stories. This is the second book I have read by this author and I really love the way pace is set without making it insta or far too stretched. But found depth lacking at some situations especially in those which required heartfelt truth revelations and character revealing with two people who transformed because of love. And hence a bit of a drag during those. But good stories build nonetheless and looking forward for that potential in full blooming mode.
Not only was this book hot and romantic it was also funny!! I found myself LOL a few times!! If you can give me, Love, Hot and Sassy mixed with a dash of me LOL you my dear have a winner!!!
Xander was broken and tried to mend himself with alcohol, drugs, loose women, and other risky behaviors. Imani became his healing salve. Like a poorly healed bone, she had to first re-break him then put him back together again. This time with unconditional love, acceptance, and understanding.
Imani annoyed me for two reasons 1. Xander confided in her with two big secrets and she didn’t reciprocate by telling him about what ryan I’d. 2. She was too prideful and wouldn’t accept help and was ungrateful in my opinion
It was good, BUT, they don’t get back together until the last 2 minutes of the book after not seeing each other or speaking for 3 months. What? Did she just get tired of writing?

3.25 stars. Like book one of The Chase Brothers Series, this story is made bearable by the narration of Graham Halstead. He's excellent. The heroine, Imani Brooks, is a woman of color actor who is attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and who is reluctantly working with her dreaded sexual preying ex-beau. As a means to earn money to aide her sister, Imani agrees to fill in for Miriam, an escort, and go on a date with Xander in Miriam's stead. Miriam assures Imani that Xander will not attempt to have sex; but when Xander and Imani meet, they immediately have sex. The "Pretty Womansque" flavor of this story is obvious and paled into comparison to the source : Xander Chase although described as handsome, lacked the debonair grace and self-assurance of Edward and Imani's awe with Paris and the Effiel Tower was no match for Vivian's reaction at the Opera. For much of the book Imani allows Xander to think she is an escort; but finally discloses all about her circumstance with her ex-beau, sister and family situation is general. Like Abbie, Imani has been sexually abused by her ex-beau and she is currently tortured by having to work with him; but the horrors of Xander's and Alexi's abusive childhood and the physical and sexual abuse of Abby's and Imani's respective former love interest as the angst and drama in this series did not work. Sorry.
I am totally in love with this story and the characters. This was such a sexy sensual love story, that you can't possibly put it down. The entire story is so amazing that it reaches you on all emotional levels. This is a story about not only love but it is a story about trust. This was so satisfying to be able to see characters that are more than one dimensional. It's refreshing to also see the alpha male which is Xander strong enough to not only humble himself but to admit to not wanting to be alone and needing help. The writer captures all the emotions and body language so perfectly you can get a clear picture. This was such an amazing addition to a wonderful series.I look so forward to more from the Chase Brothers and the women who love them. This is recommend worthy.
3.5 stars... the first half of this book was good enough to make the second palatable*. Like the first in the series, it suffered from unnecessary last act drama. Unlike the first one, the ending was rushed and fell flat. Still, I liked both leads and Nana Malone dealt well with both characters personal trauma. And, a big thank you to Malone for not writing a "man whore" as someone to be looked up to or a status that a man should want to attain.
ETA: *Originally rounded up but I changed my mind. For me, 4 stars means I would read it again. Barring every book on my favorites and to read lists disappearing, that won't happen.
Great read. I love this author she never disappoints; well, maybe once or twice. Nevertheless in this particular book The characters were well developed and depicted realistically. However, I was a little confused and had to go back and research Book 1 (London Bound) to see if the female character in the 2 book (London Calling) were one in the same. What I found was that in Book 1 there was a student of Xander's named "Ilani Bruce" and in Book 2 the main female's name who was the object of Xander's affection was "Imani Brooks." Xander's personality was totality different in this book than in book 1. All in all this is a great book and I recommend it.
