If Royce Atkins, Menace Caselli, and Xander Brown got tossed in a blender, you’d get Dymeir “Deluxe” Savage. A germaphobe doctor by day and killer by night, he saw a pregnant woman and immediately said, “You and those babies are mine.” 🤣 Poor Harlow was definitely going through a rough time when Deluxe found her, and it took her a while to accept her new reality.
With that said, while I think the bones of the story were good, the execution didn’t fully work for me. I didn’t fully buy into their romance because so much of their relationship development happened off page and their interactions felt surface. By the time we reached the “I love yous,” I didn’t feel as emotionally invested as I wanted to.
It also took a little too long for the prologue to connect back to the main story, and there were some other plot points that felt underdeveloped. I found myself wondering if certain questions would be answered, and while they eventually were, the journey there felt longer than necessary. I also think the ending could have been more satisfying if it hadn’t felt so rushed.
Lastly, and this may just come down to personal preference, but the humor didn’t always work for me. I enjoy funny characters and good banter, but some of the attempts at being outrageous and witty felt more forced than funny.
Overall, I can see why readers would enjoy this story. If you love a down-on-her-luck mom and an unapologetically unhinged MMC who says and does exactly what he wants, this may be right up your alley.

Ate this up. Loved the unhinged behavior. Funny characters. Good vibes. I love Talehia. I really do but this dada mess is driving me crazy. It gives me such an ick. I cringe every time it comes up and I really hope she stops using it in the future. Otherwise I loved the book. I would recommend.

So Different
After finishing this book, I realize how the stars aligned everything about how this couple was already intertwined and nobody knew it. It was more than Grandma suggesting seeing that fine doctor because she hadn't had her babies checked on in months, but I'd say it was the igniter to something so beautiful, totally unorthodox, but intended. I don't think mean Deluxe even fully knew why he was drawn to Harlow. Harlow was having such a rough pregnancy. From the no-good divorcing her after the news of her pregnancy and leaving her homeless, to her having to go back to the woman who birthed her but treated her as if she ruined her life. Harlow had to watch her mother dote on her younger sister while she got sloppy seconds, if that. But, her grandma, her deceased father's mother, loved her down and unconditionally.
A job came to Deluxe, dentist by day, terror by night, but he turned it all around and changed not only Harlow's life but his for the long haul. You can even say he saved his own life with making Harlow Mrs. Savage. It was touchy for a moment and a thug, yeah my eyes watered but Talehia fixed my heart. Dad Savage tied it all in together. This is a very good read. Especially Grandma still trying to get some. And those Savage brothers and their banter will literally make you laugh out loud. Yes, I recommend this!

This book was written to take you through the dysfunctional parts of your family and to show that your family, mother can be your biggest hater!!!…
Grandma on the other hand, was the love she knew she could not go without and loves her beyond measure!!!…She brought the love and the humor, with words of encouragement!!!…I was soooo happy that Faith finally spk up and genuinely apologized to Harlow for the damage she knew she was part of at the encouragement of their mother!!!…
Deluxe was her saving grace and he made sure she understood that struggle and her name would never coincide together!!!…His family embraced her, loved her and her children!!!…
Although Deluxe saved her, she gave him many reasons to live and that brought balance to them both!!!…

Think of all the unhinged mmcs whi force their women to marry them you will have Deluxe Savage! He’s Royce Atkins, Menace Caselli, Dr. Xander Brown and Dr. Jaseon “Slash” Mcknight Jr. Deluxe brought her a home, changed her kids name, offed her husband, obtained a marriage license, signed it, said vows during sex, and changed her name all while fighting kidney disease and avoiding death!
Poor Harlow didn’t know whether to be in love or run for her life with this fool lol. Her mother was trash and I’m glad her sister came to her senses. Let the mother be hateful on her own. I loved her grandma with her crazy tail self. She was ready to take dentures out and get in the field for Deluxe.

Just read it 😁
If you grew up being taught or heard you weren’t ever going to be good enough by simply being in the body you’re in, but somehow, with the right surroundings/people, you overcame and overall made something shake despite the lacklustre upbringing and whatever other psychological trauma came with said upbringing. This book helps you release some of that tension with hella humor and mild vigilante justice that was ultimately well deserved. I laughed 80% of the book even though there’s a lesson beneath the humor. The MMC and FMC were both hilarious; this was a new-to-me author, and I’m glad I read this story. A perfect palate cleanser, short, unhinged loving story that helps you giggle at some of life’s adversities.

This book blends street drama, emotional depth, humor, and undeniable chemistry. Harlow was working my nerves at the beginning. She was a weak woman. Deluxe brothers were some true clowns.🤣 I wanted to choke Harlow mom tf out evil bih. I'm glad her granny and Cyn stick beside her through everything. I would've forgiven Faith but loved her from a distance. Deluxe came into her life and saved her, and in return, she saved his life. Harlow’s ex-husband deserved what he got. Overall, this book is a captivating read that offers romance, loyalty, family dynamics, and enough surprises to keep readers hooked.

I’ve been waiting for Deluxe’s story for a lil minute, and while it wasn’t what I expected, it was still a good read. I was hoping he would be the most unhinged of them all, as the momentum felt like it was growing with the first 2 books. But his story didn’t feel as strong as the others and felt underdeveloped. However, Talehia is still one of my faves and I always look forward to reading her work.

Talehia can write a book!!!! For it to be a short novel, it told a complete story, left no gaps, was hilarious, and pulled at your heart strings. Dr. Savage might be the top delusional book man. He immediate know and possessiveness of the MFC reminds me of Royce by Connie Easton. He understood trauma and immediately loved and wanted to make her life better. Also, no book makes me laugh like hers - I absolutely love her humor

Funny cute read
I loved this so much I didn’t want it to end. I did like how all the questions I had were eventually answered. I do wish Queenie would have went in a little more on her mother because she was so nasty to her own daughter! However I was pleased that she got what she deserved. Deluxe did not play about Queenie or his babies and he was slightly unhinged. My type of MMC ❤️

This book was so good! Harlow went through so much. Her husband was pitiful and her mom was always jealous of her. Who knew her life would change after stumbling in on a doctor and his ruthless brothers. Deluxe was hilarious and deranged. He did not play about Harlow from the moment he met her. I laughed and cried while reading. I didn’t want the book to end.

When that man started singing why why 😂😂 and when he said a bullet it got Maxine!!! Baby I died laughing!! Deluxe is freaking hilarious! Now Harlow why you giving your husband a hard time? Spend that money and get in that house immediately! Now that 8 months 😒 it definitely got me! Tears came to my eyes so fast, Lord I was worried!

I must’ve busted out laughing every other page. I swear I don’t know who’s funnier. Every single character had me rolling. This was an all around great book. Just as much as I laughed, Talehia pulled tears outta me as well. My heart was thudding so hard towards the last few chapters. Listen great story! I love me and obsessed rich man

Idk how to put my feelings into words here
It was a cool storyline. Definitely had major potential. However I think what threw me off was the constant cultural references or phrases. While I love a book that can incorporate known sayings or pop culture references from the black community, this one felt overdone.

Real Thug
This was Deluxe was a real thug. He really stepped up for Harlow and her kids. I couldn’t stand Harlow’s momma with her evil self. I’m glad Faith finally woke up and took up for Harlow. I liked the story but was a little aggravated that it took so long to find out what was wrong with Deluxe.

I chose this rating because of all the action, this was a sad story to have all the money in the world but you can't buy a new life or extent your life longer. I'm happy because being a single mom and your ex husband stole all your money then prince charming comes along and saves the day.

ABSOLUTELY LOVING
This book was amazing. Harlow was dealt a bad hand from the beginning her mom, the mental and physical abuse of her husband and then stranded pregnant. Then came along Mr. nice wealthy Dr man. And save the day when I say he loved her unconditionally. This was a great love. Story loved it loved it loved it.

Hilarious and So Warm
I loovveeee the Savage family! I loved Ignite’s story and I loved Deluxe’s even more. This story was so hilarious and loving. Harlowe aka Queenie really got a GOODT man! 10/10 for banter and laughs alone!

If that book did not have me crying at the end! For Deluxe to be a germophobe he was very touchy with Queenie from the moment, he’s laid eyes on her. I’m going to leave out what really happened and just say they made the perfect couple. Must read

Very heartwarming story. Dymeir was domineering, sweet, thoughtful and sexy. Harlowe was smart mouthed, strong, resilient, thoughtful, and funny. The Savage brothers were back! Stackz is married??? Since when? Harlow's mother was sad. Grateful for her grandmother.
